So it looks like it's officially Brock/Taker going into a Hell In A Cell match for No Mercy.
This should be interesting. On the one hand, Taker is undefeated in Hell In A Cell matches, and he always promises to make someone famous the way he made Mick Foley famous.
On the other hand, Brock is just plain undefeated (not counting his DQ losses).
Here's hoping Brock gets to pick up some more momentum by snapping Taker's streak.
Undertaker is not undefeated. Kurt Angle retained the WWE title at Armageddeon in 99.
Tonight stopped being about who is right and who is wrong - it became about two men wanting to prove who the better man is - for YOUR entertainment. And that, my friends, is the credo of SmackDown!"
Tag title tournament (and the 30-minute-long Angle/Edge match!) both look very, very cool.
But I would be remiss if I didn't mention Matt Hardy defeating The Undertaker by sheer Mattitude.

He lost that match but still wasn't pinned so he can claim to be undefeated, like when Angle would lose a tag team match but have his partner get pinned and say he was undefeated. And wasn't it Armageddeon 2000? I thought 99 was Trip vs Vince.

You may not count the one at Armageddon, but Taker lost the very first Hell in the Cell Match against HBK at Badd Blood when Kane made his debut.
Another Smackdown note: Stephanie orders Angle and Benoit to team up next week during the tag-team tournament, or else they'll be suspended one year without pay.
It sounds like a really hot show. Unfortunately, I have Cirque du Soleil tickets and have to miss the show. This is one week where I wil have to depend on Dean's recap for my Smackdown fill.

Y'know, I liked Billy and Chuck a lot better when they were ambiguously gay. Now they're just annoying.
The Angle/Edge match sounds good, but I'd like to know where they got the idea of teaming D-Von and Farooq? Wasn't the point of separating them from their tag partners in the split to try to get them singles careers?

You mean, when they had a gimmick?

Yeah, but both failed. Well, I don't think Farooq really tried, he's been off TV a while now.

Well, Farooq's wife was really sick for awhile there. Something was happening with her eyesight so he decided to stay home with her.

Everyone can get all excited about Taker in HITC, but remember this, Michaels and Foley are not his opponent this time. Unless Lesnar hits a new level, this match might rank up their with Taker/Bossman Crap in a Cell from Mania 99.
Thank you Mr. Wanz for the check, now you get an AWA World Title Reign. But be careful, my boy Greg is a heat machine.

No it was to get their more over partners into singles careers. And yes, it is debateable when talking about Bradshaw/Faarooq, but Faarooq is older.

I wouldn't worry about Brock, unless they're gonna do something stupid that ends up injuring him. And why do I have the feeling Matt's gonna get involved as well?

Brock vs. Taker in HITC, huh? Excellent! Half-hour Edge vs. Angle match...on free TV? SWEET!!!!! Tag title tournament? DUDE!!!!!!!! Now if they could only give each show 6 PPV's a year...that would rule. But I think I heard somewhere that they were actually thinking of putting out MORE PPV's. Great, every other week there's going to be a Pay Per View on. And NWA-TNA. Wow, it's getting really expensive to be a wrestling fan these days. Let's look at the calendar month of February, starting with Sunday the 1st.
Congratulations, dedicated wrestling fan! You get to pay $110 per month if you want to watch all of the shows!
You know, one of these days Chris Jericho is going to beat Triple H cleanly in the center of the ring with a perfectly fine count. At that time, the planet Mars shall turn purple, Haley's comet shall become a nightly observation, and the Internet will not be happy.
WrestleMania XIX is one day away as of this writing. I'm excited to see the show, but even I will admit, despite what is on paper the most loaded card in the show's 19 year history, something does seem to be missing.
