I guess I understand it is ridiculous of me to expect every move to be accredited. But I think it's kind of f'ed up to have some poor shlub toiling in the indies, coming up with some innovative moves that get a nice pop and then guys like Misterio start using it, so when people see Red do it they go "Oh he's doing Rey's move."

I simply think the inventor should get to name it and the WWE should honor it. I know that that is not how it works, but to me it just seems kind of unjust.

In that case, they should talk to Dragon Kid and TARU.

Very few moves are original anymore. If you want your name used, don't name it after your own friggin' gimmick.

"Speaking of moves and stealing - this stuff is funny. You mean the Walls of Jericho aren't a Boston Crab and the Razor's Edge isn't a Crucifix and....."

Semantics, I know, but isn't a crucifix the thing that Brian Pillman and many others did that involved spinning around behind a guy and pinning them in the same position as a Majistral Cradle?

And a Walls of Jericho should certainly not be a boston crab, and only is because few guys in WWE can take it correctly. The way the move is intended isn't in a sitting on the other guy's back position, like a regular boston crab, but rather a put the pressure on the other guy's neck and shoulders while you kneel down thing.

Check some tapes of Jericho using it as a Liontamer and learn the awesomeness of the original move.

Just my opinion, of course, but since it seems that every reply in this thread has focused solely on the concept of wrestlers stealing each other's moves, without any real commentary on the NWA-TNA product, I'd say you're one of a dwindling few. As for me, I stopped buying the PPV's after show number seven. I still (usually) watch the Saturday morning highlight show, but I can't justify spending ten dollars a week on this stuff.

Bruiser and Crusher used to do the Crucifix all the time. Same move as the Razer's edge, except Bruiser help to drive the Blackjack into the mat. And that was what the announcer called it back then. Don't know that other move.

I realize that he stopped doing the original walls for some reason. My opinion only, but the Crab he's doing now looks like you could actually put it on and hold it. I never figured out how people didn't roll out of it in the original format. I forgot he called it the Lion Tamer though.... Trust me, I only watched wCw until forced to watch the Weeeeeeeeeeee - I saw plenty of Jericho. More than I wanted, to be honest.

I always figured that the Liontamer was held in place by putting all the weight on the guy's neck. Notice how it was always done a little to the side with Jericho's knee in the way of the side the guy could slip out on. And that was why it was so believably deadly, because all that pressure was on one guy's neck. Now it's just kind of boring, and the other guy can crawl towards the ropes.

Why question who invented the moves, because we all know the one man who invented every wrestling move ever created: SuperNova. If you don't believe it, just ask him, he'll tell you.

Thank you Mr. Wanz for the check, now you get an AWA World Title Reign. But be careful, my boy Greg is a heat machine.

I think that it would be a nice wink to indy wrestlers or even TNA guys if, when a WWE guy busted out one of their moves, they had Tazz call it some kind of goofy thing that pertained to their name. Maybe Tazz could even make up a story about the move, cuz god knows the marks would certainly believe Tazz.

That'll never happen. Let's imagine:
"Oh, Mysterio just did the 'Code Red'. That's the finisher of a guy in NWATNA."

Result: Some people will start watching TNA to see the cool move. The WWE shouldn't even let on that NWATNA exists.

I'd be content if they just CALLED the moves more often.

We're getting our crucifix's crossed. (excuse the lame pun).

A Crucifix is a move in which the attacking wrestler wraps his arms around his opponent's arm and legs around the other arm, from behind, and rolls him up.

A Crucifix Powerbomb on the other hand is a move like the Razor's Edge in which the attacker lifts his opponent over his head, arms to the sides (i.e. like a crucifix) and then drops them on their neck.

Since everyone else is doing it (ok, not EVERYONE, but...)

Vikings (0-3) - Looking like a sad year to be a Vikes, fan, and only getting by on my hate for the Rams and...
Badgers (5-0) - The fact that, despite the fact that we looked like crap against friggin' Northern Illinois, we killified Arizona and are close to being bowl bound.
Twins (90-66) - I have no delusions of granduer, but this certainly makes up for being a fan during all the "lean years".
Buffy 7.1 earns a 8.3 Out of 10 for being solid, yet subtly underwhelming.

I thought the Liontamer was supposed to be an ELEVATED Boston Crab.

It's a crab where you do elevate the guy so only his head and shoulders are on the mat, then you put in a knee into the small of his back there. Jericho got the move from Benoit.

The Verve have made four albums, the last two top ten , 2 number 1 single and another 4 that went top ten. Hardly one hit wonders (it was a string arangement of The Stones by the way). Relate that to assimilating other wrestlers moves into a moveset however you like.

You mean in the UK? Hey I'm not much of a music guy. I'm pretty much a mike patton dork and that's about it. As for assimilating that, the only British wrestler I have heard of is Five Star Flash. Oh and 'The British Storm", who seemed pretty cool, for a HOSS I mean.

So anyway. Did ANYONE besides me order the last TNA PPV? Guru Zim did, right? If noone else did I think things do not bode well for TNA, seeing as how we are the audience they are purportedly trying to attract.

Maybe I should pimp the next show:

Low Ki vs Killings! My two favorite guys! Red vs Shark Boy (I think)!!! Both guys rule! Skip a meal and order the PPV if you need to lose some weight! Enhance a delicious meal by watching the PPV if you need to gain weight!

There.

Who learned it in Japan. It's actually called the Torture/Torturer Crab and was first used by Rikiodozan.

No, but it would be fun if, say, (and Lord knows I don't know who does anything), Trailer Park Trash originated some sort of unique spinning neckbreaker that looks a little unique. Jamie Knoble breaks it out and Tazz goes, "That's a compactor neckbreaker, Cole. I've never seen Knoble try that except in his double-wide" That'd be a cool wink that none of the casual fans would get, but the smarts would get it and TPT would get his props.
