Jordan has made incredible off-season acquisitions:

Jerry Stackhouse
Larry Hughes
Bryon Russell
Juan Dixon

This team has three players in Jordan, Stack and Hughes who can go for 40 any given night. If Jordan comes back, the Wizards will be loaded.

That's nice, but they'd better hope White and Brown start putting up some good rebounding stats. Loading up on guards and small forwards isn't going to take them very far.

Agreed, but Haywood was playing his ass off until he got hurt. He played great defense and rebounded like hell. He also showed great poise for a rookie center. I think he'll be what they need in the middle.

And now Haywood has Ewing to tutor him in the fine, fine art of not getting up to rebound, having horrible hands around the basket, and not being able to pass out of the low-post. Plus, he'll show Haywood the finer points of Champagne Room etiquette.

Between Ewing and Russell, Jordan seems to be giving pity jobs to the people he embarrassed, humiliated, and made into a laughing-stock during his playing days.

Speaking of playing days, Jordan as the sixth-man is only an improvement if you figure that it will hurt the team less when he needs knee surgery during NEXT season as well.

Add Jerry Stackhouse to that mix, who disappeared faster than *Buff Bagwell from the Alliance roster* during last year's playoffs, and the Wizards must have high, high hopes indeed. And not in that Keon Clark type of way.

*And no, I'm not bitter because we replaced Ewing with Shawn "Everyday-is-Father's-Day" Kemp. The rumor that we are changing the name of the team from the "Magic" to the "Diminished Expectations" is just UNTRUE, dammit!*

Confusatron, you made at least three great jokes in that last post. I particuarly liked the Buff Bagwell joke... ouch! (Although technically, Buff Bagwell was never in the Alliance-- he was gone before WCW and ECW joined forces. But that's neither here nor there).

Sure, on paper, it appears that the Wizards have the potential talent to win the Atlantic Division, or at least finish second behind the Nets.

And if their team gells properly, I see them in contention for the Eastern Conference title.

“Yeah, but can they beat the Lakers?”

No.

True, they have three guys who can drop 40 on any given night. Conversely, two of those guys (Hughes/Stackhouse) could shoot 2-40 on any given night. Without an inside game, the Wizards are a potential 40-43 win team that will battle for the 8 spot in the East.

Thank you Mr. Wanz for the check, now you get an AWA World Title Reign. But be careful, my boy Greg is a heat machine.

The Washington Post says that Charles Oakley is close to signing a one-year contract with the Wizards.

Yet another one of Jordan's old adversaries, not to mention a former teammate in Washington. Unbelievable.

Will Charles be teaching the finer points of punching out a card playing partner who owes money?

Also, it begs the question...has anyone ever seen Jerry Buss and Stacy "Papa Titus" Keach in the same place at the same time?
