Did they ever reveal who was behind GTV? If not they should say it was Goldust all along!

And maybe Hennig can be the one who pulled the briefcase up.

Nope, they never revealed who was behind GTV.

They was a story going around that after Goldust left, Russo pitched the idea to have Tom Green be the GTV guy, but that never happened.

Yeah, I heard that too. McMahon said no because he didn't know who Tom Green was (this was before he hit it big, obviously).

Tom Green in the WWF could have been funny, but Russo liked making EVERYONE wrestle if he could, and Tom Green trying to wrestle wouldn't be a good thing.

I'll think of something witty later, I promise.

How does that explain Eddie Guerrero in the shower?

GTV was ALMOST explained. Headbanger Mosh (Chaz) had been accussed of beating his girlfriend. It came to the point where he was "arrested" on TV. Then, Headbanger Thrash (Glen) made his "triumphant return" by introducing a GTV clip of Mosh's girlfriend painting on fake bruises and muttering about getting Chaz put in jail. I saw this as an admission that GTV was Glen TV. It was the last GTV clip. I thought that was it and that that was enough of an explanation. The Headbanger reunion lasted a week or two and I haven't heard from them since.

Eh, to me, that's not a very good payoff. I mean, the guy behind all of these big GTV clips was HEADBANGER THRASH? Ehh...

Oh, I agree, it wasn't a good payoff at all... but it was ENOUGH. The angle died a slow death. It should have ended well before it did and been more important, but it didn't. My point is only that it was FINISHED, not that it was any good.

After Goldust left GTV was just something the WWF would pull out of it's ass from time to time for a cheap angle. I wouldn't mind seeing them bring it back, but I like Goldust better when he's being a creep than just being a goofy gay guy.

As cfgb said they did the Eddie Guerrero segment where they caught him cheating on Chyna in the shower with two girls.

Which was way after the Headbangers, so that couldn't have been when GTV ended.

I always thought GTV was a clever device--hope they bring it back. Much better than "accidentally leaving the camera on during the commercial break" which I believe is what they've used since then.

I stand corrected. I had forgotten that the Eddie Guerrero GTV shower incedent happened a full year after Glen "Headbanger Thrasher" saved his buddy from arrest. Was GTV used in between those incedents? yes. yes it was... maybe I just had convinced myself that the angle had been explained so that I wouldn't go insane... who the hell lifted that briefcase, anyway... I usually keep my mouth shut when my memory is this hazy... so bear with me. I'm sure I'm getting this wrong.

Wasn't there some angle with Mark Henry being behind GTV right before the whole Mae Young thing and his disappearance from TV?

I thought that Mark Henry brought out the GTV footage of Eddie to Chyna? Am I remembering this totally wrong?

I thought they were trying to imply it was "G" TV like OG - where Mark Henry was the G? Like, as in bad slang - "Yo G, check this ish out".

Someone correct me because its driving me crazy.

I assumed it had a point at first, and then degenerated into "Well, we're too lazy to actually introduce this, so let's run GTV and make it look sneaky". We're thinking about this too much.

I may be wrong here, but wasn't it originally called "GDTV" for a couple weeks until Runnels was let go? After he left it was renamed GTV. No other real point to this post, other than seeing if anyone else remembers this.
