Until someone actually tells me how to work these funny colors and boldness, all my posts shall be this plain. Oh, he has to job, we said. He won't take the belt, we said. He'll do what's best for business, we said. Well, I don't think that a double-DQ finish and people chanting "Bullshit" counts as best for business. Now, this COULD be the grand plan that was always gonna happen, and this COULD lead to something good, but I don't like it one iota. And, while we're in "bitch about Unforgiven" mode, I said in some other thread "I'd like to see Steph get out of HLA more than I'd like to see Bischoff kiss Rikishi's ass." Well, I got both. Great.

You know, one of these days Chris Jericho is going to beat Triple H cleanly in the center of the ring with a perfectly fine count. At that time, the planet Mars shall turn purple, Haley's comet shall become a nightly observation, and the Internet will not be happy.

Hey Yo...

So Taker jobs next month, so what? Match was good, all I care about. They told a story and I was interested throughout MOST of the match. No doubt this feud isn't over and Taker throwing Lesnar through the Unforgiven sign? Awesome.

Great pay per view, second one in a row.

Allow me to ask: Why the fuck even book a Brock-Taker main event if Taker isn't going to job?

The problem with the finish is that it does nothing to add credibility to Brock, which he still needs. He's been riding "I ended Hulkamania" for a while, and having a steady diet of midcarders, but he's still short on wins against actual big names. Now he comes away with nothing, unless you count surviving in the ring that long with Taker, which is pretty thin beer -- especially when you consider that the last image of the show is that of Taker using Brock as a javelin.

I wouldn't be upset if Brock had actually, you know, DONE SOMETHING to earn a DQ and further cement his rep as a heel. Beat Taker unconscious with a chair, perhaps. But the ref gets bumped twice and then apparently decides, "Oh dear, they won't stop with the punching, I better DQ everyone"? What the hell is that? I would have been joining in the "Bullshit" chant had I been there.

I have no patience for the IWC's endless spinning of "X is holding Y down" theories, but regardless of who you blame, that was a shitty finish and deserves to be decried.

I don't know if I totally dislike the finish, but I was displeased with Taker's performance.

I think the finish was probably necessary. As long as Brock is exclusively on Smackdown, there is a shortage of credible main eventers for him to take on at PPV. They need to keep the belt on him until Wrestlemania (when he'll lose it to Angle), and until then, they need some matches for him.

I imagine tonight's finish was meant to set-up a match next PPV in Hell in the Cell or something similar, where Taker will do the job clean.

That being said, who can argue that Taker really stunk up the joint in there tonight? All the story being told was Brock. He was the one who rolled out of the ring on Taker's push, and ran back in to slap on a headlock. He was the one who went over the top rope and kicked the stairs in a temper tantrum. He was the one who tried to use the bear hug to put some sort of motion into the story.

On the other hand, while Undertaker should have been selling Brock's punches to the kidneys, he reached down to adjust his pantleg. When Brock was trying to throw some shoulders in the corner, Undertaker threw some misguided punches to the back of his head. When Brock and Heyman were both selling injuries on the outside of the ring, Undertaker meandered around, stepping into the ring and looking lost, then stepping out and taking his sweet time before continuing the action.

Don't get me wrong, I think tonight's match was decent. But it was all Brock. Undertaker really needs to do up his jobbing next month just to pay back Brock for carrying him through this match.

Waxfish's report is undoubtedly accurate, which is frightening, because it is almost exactly (as was the finish) what any member of the IWC would have predicted if/when the worst tendencies of 'Taker combined with the worst of WWE booking.

The entire problem is this: We've suffered through a couple more weeks of 'Taker TV, which followed two ppv performances that only the most charitable observer could call 'mixed.' Then tonight's fiasco.

And the WWE continues with a 'plan' or regime that is booking in such a way that we must STILL speak of 'Undertaker' and 'next month' when discussing the Fed. It is so terribly long past the time when this should be true. It's not the damage 'Taker/WWE did tonight, or two ppvs ago-- it's that they show every sign of being completely committed to doing more.

Thank god I don't order WWE ppvs anymore. You folks who did must be PISSED.

I'm rather annoyed with the fact that I sat down, tried the pathetic excuse for "Hot" wings that Hooters serves (serves me right for not just going for the 911 sauce, but them having the audacity to name something 3-Mile Island when it's barely spicier than MILK is just wrong), and didn't even get a solid finish to the damned main event.

Angle/Benoit was perfect, though. As was Jericho/Flair. The shortness of Jericho/Flair actually worked to its advantage. It actually made you pause and say, "Naw... Jericho wouldn't have SERIOUSLY blown his knee out, would he?," even if only for a moment.

Well... that figures. A night of screwjob endings.

When thinking about which way to go when picking the winner of Lesnar/Undertaker, I thought to myself, “OK, common sense says they didn't give Lesnar the belt just so he could lose it the next month... but at the same time, 'Taker has to job in order for Lesnar to retain.”

Well, WWE has outdone themselves this time. Lesnar retains, but 'Taker doesn't job, and both of them go home happy.

When was the last time 'Taker jobbed in a PPV match, anyway? And don't say Vengeance-- if you'll remember, Kurt Angle was there to do the job for The Rock.

Eke, UT has done 1 job in a one on one match this year on PPV. He jobbed to The Rock in Feb. Otherwise the only other thing he did was not win Royal Rumble. That is his only one on one job on PPV since May of 2001 when he jobbed in a main event match for the World Title to Steve Austin.

Yeah, Taker should have jobbed. If Vince really wants a new era its time to start chucking some of the older guys. I know Taker is the locker room leader and he shouldn't have gotten squashed as many people suggested. However, he should have laid down for the kid, it just seems wrong that Taker kicks the crap out of him, but Rock, Flair, Hogan and most of the Smackdown roster minus Edge, Benoit, Angle, Rey and Eddie don't even phase this guy.

I think Brock has been used poorly since SummerSlam, the walk out on Raw confirmed my fears that Brock's title reign is going to end in shambles instead of being a memorable run from the last five years like Austin, HHH, Rock or even Goldberg's. I did tell people I fear once Brock gets beat by someone then his star will fall after last night I sense the downward spiral.

A Fan- Minus three matches, this was a good solid PPV.
