This is sort of the next step from the What are we tired of thread.
What makes you turn off wrestling, change the channel, walk out of the room, get a snack, or do laundry?
I may be tired of some things but I'll sit through them, and there's other things I'm not tired of cause I refuse to watch them.
Mine are: Bischoff blathering... every time the island boys splash someone wrestling matchups I've seen over and over, a lot of the top card guys seem to use the same sets of moves when wrestling the other top card guys they face frequently. It's BORING! It doesn't matter who wins if the match looks like every other match they've ever had together. Lawler saying something stupid and unrelated Stephanie blathering and overacting Lugs "shoes for thugs" commercials
I'm just here for the sweaty mens... pay no attention.

Anything that I think will rev up Jerry Lawler - most women's matches, HLA, the IOW segment from Monday's RAW, etc. I may miss out on some good segments doing this, but Lawler's just become insufferable of late.

I'm going twenty-four hours a day...I can't seem to stop - "Turn Up The Radio", Autograph
There are a couple of obvious things that we've talked about already. The variations on the mud wrestling theme are good laundry opportunities. If I have to mute Lawler, I find myself getting distracted from the show altogether. (When Lawler's being problematic, I'd be thrilled if I could have just crowd & ring sound on one stereo channel & commentary on the other.)
Otherwise, there are characters that I'm just not interested in, & a matchup between those makes for a good snack break.
Basically though, I pretty much hang in. Maybe because I'm just stubborn, or maybe its just a touch of OCD. Probably when I get moved to stop watching, I'll stop watching the shows altogether.
Three things me turn off the show all together. HLA, Lawler, and Stephanie.
Not that I have a problem with HLA, but I don't want to watch it. It has nothing to do with religion or sexuality. I think it's more of a matter of non-wrestlers in the ring when there is a whole roster of people backstage who I could be watching. I haven't seen Tommy Dreamer in a while. Raven could always come back to RAW in my book. Hell, call up Johnny Stamboli to RAW. Just no more HLA. It does not = ratings.
Then there's Lawler. I understand that's his 'character' (Here's to hoping he's not as sex-crazed as he is on tv). But some days, he just gets on my nerves. After I watch Fear Factor, I just want to turn the channel, drink a Pepsi, and watch wrestling. I want to see some action, not hear the rantings of a sex starved man in his mid-life crisis. After the 20th mention of Puppies, HLA, Bra N Panties, hymen, and the rest of his catchphrases, I just turn. I'm in no mood to watch it at that moment. Fortunately, I also tape to watch when my mood is better.
Stephanie is tolerable when she's not screaming at someone. But when is she NOT screaming or shreiking at someone. I hope she learns that yelling at someone isn't the only way to make your demands. A somber and mellow treat is just as forceful. Once she hits the 'SOL' on her octaves, I'm gone.
Lol, that's true, but the screaming's here to stay, I think, though it probably won't be as frequent. And don't throw tomatoes at me yet, I'm starting to like her a tiny bit, especially after Monday.
Whenever Bischoff starts to blather on, I get up and leave the room.
Other things include matches that go on too long and are boring (Hogan, Flair, Taker, I'm looking in your direction) and HLA.
I'm actually lucky because most nights we watch RAW & Smackdown at the bar where we hang out, so if there is something boring, there are four other TV showing The Yanks, Mets or another sport.

I really hope I don't see the day where RAW is so irritating or horrible that I actually opt to do laundry.
Bischoff just blathers on for so damned long that it's almost like begging me to take a pee break. Whenever they decide to do an in-ring non-wrestling type thing that is that boring, I'm flipping to something else.
Nowinsky. You went to Harvard. Woooo. Here's $1.19. One cream and half a pack of sugar. Not Sweet-n-Low.
I usually change channels if it'll excite Lawler too, but I didn't this week. Lawler wasn't that bad but I really wanted to see this whole plastic surgery thing. I don't know why. I guess it's the 'spectator at a train wreck' mentality.
'n Emma - yup, masters in Speech Therapy. Between Steph's screeching and Jericho's, uh, singing, I'm working on my resume. ;)

I just wish that Stephanie would realize that she doesn't have to cop a character to be powerful and intimidating. She's obviously a strong woman all on her own... I'd like to see her try just being "Steph" instead of trying to layer in all the pretenses. Learning to project without screeching couldn't hurt though, and it could certainly give our ears a rest
