Wow, Eric was JAMMIN' to "It's Raining Men" last night, wasn't he? In all seriousness, that wedding was really fun, and I was laughing a lot. I know a couple of gay folks, and I'm sure that they would get a kick out of the whole thing too. It was brilliant how Eric psyched everybody out, and I must say, since I do also have RAW, it actually made me want to see him gloating on Monday. Way to go, Eric! Benoit/Angle at Unforgiven? SWEET! Chavo and Eddie? Nice ass, Chavo! Smackdown was really fun last night and I had a blast. We should thank the people behind this, and yes, we should thank Stephanie too (also for taking that slam, ouch!). Comments are always welcome.

Yeah, Eric had me in stitches last night. Watching him dance along was classic. Primo makeup job, too! I was watching with 2 other people and they were totally fooled.

That's the thing-I didn't know, and even if the old man turned out to be nobody, I still found him hilarious, with the dancing, and the voice, and Rico greeting him with, "Oooh, you're a bit old, aren't you?" The revelation just BLEW MY MIND.

That was just awesome, I must say. Avoiding reading SPOILERS was worth it in this case.
My question is- why did they attack Stephanie? I mean, clearly that was never done before- I wonder what that is leading up to?

To be honest, I am kind of tired of the GM war. Yes, I want competition between the shows, but people jumping weekly (OMG Smackdown just got CRASH, *now* Steph will win!) and these escalating shenanigans has really watered down the whole thing for me. I wish VINCE GODDAMN MCMAHON would come in and enforce some rules for us (say, on how people can switch shows, and now contenders are established,) so both shows could just focus internally on their own rosters.

Sssssshhhh! You don't reallly mean that. All he would do is make out with Stacy or something, and we might have to see him dance around in his underwear again.

I was gonna tape Smackdown last night for a friend, but couldn't find a tape. Turns out the friend got to watch it anyway, but I still wish I'd taped it. Because I was FOOLED by Bischoff, and I'd like to watch it again so I could see if I *should* have been fooled.

This brings a GREAT new dyamic I think, the fact that Bischoff would go throw THAT MUCH work for a personal attack on the Smackdown! brand. From the part where Billy and Chuck said "it wasn't supposed to go this far!" onward was the best TV I've seen in a long while.

"....three minutes....wait a second..... (gradually turning into his real voice)......did I just say three minutes "

The look on Stephanie's face was MONEY. The Three minute attack was MONEY. Billy and Chuck's "yo, we're straight" promo was MONEY (yes that's right, I actually said something Billy Gunn did was MONEY). And the fact that the three main Smackdown! faces ran them off into the crowd while midcarders and the TOP HEELS were there helping out too showed something that should've happened during the Invasion; you CAN have rivalries within the two sides....but at times you need to remind people that there's a great battle going on. When through these small reminders, when the time comes that this brand extension will be finished, when those feuds and heel/face dislikeness will be put aside for the greater fight....

THAT'S what will be the real MONEY in all of this. They had it with Rock vs Jericho, but that was it beofre. Now it seems there's doing it a great way. The Nasty One approves.

That makeup job on Bischoff was top notch. Seriously, had I not read the spoilers (what a week to finally read SmackDown spoilers, btw), I'd have never guessed that was Bischoff. And pulling off the mask- it looked like something out of Scooby Doo.

Yeah, at first, when I saw that old justice of the peace, I kept telling myself, "Man, what the HELL is wrong with that guy?! Can't he keep from shaking? I mean, this is supposed to be a ceremony now!" And when it was the Bisch, I kept repeating to myself, "F*ck no. I can't believe this! F*CK NO!!!"

I was on the phone with my brother, letting him know what was going on throughout the ceremony, and letting him overhear what was going on, too. Needless to say, when he heard my reaction and when I told him who the old guy was,
all my brother could say was, "Holy sh*t!!! Bischoff's a bastard! And dude, just think, we're gonna be at RAW next Monday!!!" He was in stitches!

Why couldn't WWE do more cool stuff like this past edition of SmackDown?

That had to be the best makeup job in WWE history. Too bad he couldn't get it all off so they could get a good shot of his face. I'm sure the Kevin "Well" Dunn and his amazing production crew will be able to deal, though.

You know what else I loved about that segment?

After the locker room chased away Bischoff, Rico, and the Island Boys, who was the one who had rushed straight to Steph to make sure she was ok?

Kurt Angle!

Continuity, even in tiny fleeting doses, completely rules.

That's all I could focus on too, watching the episode. My thought throughout the whole segment was that the Old Guy would keel over at some point, leading to Stephanie calling in a favor from another public official who could act as Justice of the Peace. And who's the number one guy in Minnesota? Yup, I kept waiting for Jesse to come out to marry them. But, getting Sleazy E under the makeup, and that incredible look on Stephanie's face, more than made up for it! An incredible finish...that should've ended the show, not Taker/Heyman/Sara/Brock.

I read the spoilers and I still marked out over it just by the way it was done. All the people were great especially Bischoff.

Originally I thougt he'd be wearing a Latex halloween mask but when I saw him go full Mission Impossible 2 with it,it was great.

When Steph said she had bad luck at weddings = Continuity, which is something we haven't seen or heard in a long time.

Plus Rosey had a Titans jersey on,so,the whole segment turned out to AWESOME.:)

And did anyone notice when Billy & Chuck said they weren't gay they got a MASSIVE face pop.

That was job #1 of the segment done in 3 little words.

Like most have said Bisch did do a great job. If I had not read the spoilers I would have never known it was him.
I am casting my vote for Best Supporting Actor to Eric Bischoff in "Billy and Chucks Not So Gay Wedding".

To further what Iceman was pionting out, did any of you catch what Tazz said?

Billy: We're not gay, not that there is anything wrong with that.
(Crowd begins to stand and cheer)
Tazz: Wow Cole, theres alot of gay people here.

I lent a VCD I made of it to a guy at work. When I get it back I'll see if I can put it somewhere. If nothing else I should be able to put a few screen shots up in a few days.

Amen. I still can't get rid of the image of the bare-bottomed, freshly-whipped Vince horsey-riding around the ring, slapping his ass with JR's hat. Bischoff in MI (Mission Impossible) Mode was several orders of magnitude better.

So let's review the positives:

* Chuck and Billy turned face, with additional face pop coming for not being gay
* Rico remains heel, with additional heel heat for setting up the beatdowns of his former tag-team partners and Steph McMahon
* Eric gains additional heel heat for destroying the ceremony and setting up the crushing of his rival GM; also sets up a reputation as a bastard willing to do anything to win
* Three Minutes gains heat for disrupting the ceremony and beating down every face (and every decoration) in the ring
* Steph gains sympathy for being beat down in the middle of her own ring (no matter how much she deserved it after the past two years)
* Jerry Lawler wasn't there to screw it up

Thanks for bringing that image back up.

May I combat that with Mae Young giving birth to a hand or any of her gyrations? Nah; that's making it worse, somehow.

Old Man Bischoff ruled. I liked how Tazz was there instead of Lawler. Maybe we're headed to one of those Raw-Smackdown brawls at Unforgiven where both locker rooms fight each other. That was one of the good things about the Invasion angle.

At first I thought D-Von was gonna wreck it, but if that had been him under there it would have taken a LOT more makeup :-). Old Man Bish was very funny.

My only tiny concern is if Rico will now go to Raw. Seeing as how he's not gonna be real popular on Smackdown...maybe Chuck and Billy jump to Raw to get him and the belts?

The whole night was great, but the icing on the cake were the very funny signs, like "Mullatino Heat!"

The problem with Raw being so bad and Smackdown so good is that I keep waiting for them to screw it up, since it's amazing that there's such a difference in quality. And I have to raise my glass of apple juice to Cole and Tazz for their great commentating. They did a wonderful job, light-years better than Lawler.

Yeah, that was a problem. I think the deal was, if a wrestler went out on the lower of the two cables, it was weighed down and increased the distance between the two cables, stretching the belt between them.
