I admit it... I'm a puroresu virgin... but I'm *so* curious about it.
What are some of the best matches a beginner could watch, and how do I go about getting them?
TIA.

www.highspots.com is where they tell everybody to go first. I'd check out Michinoku Pro's "These Days" show. It's awesome. For some more coolu junior stuff, check out the Super J Cup 94 and 95. For non-junior stuff, see if they have any Best of whatever year. That'll probably be good.
I'd second the recommendation for Highspots. That's where I get my stuff.
Also, there are so many different kinds of puro that any recommendations really should depend on what kind of style a person like: traditional (All Japan, New Japan, Noah), garbage (FMW), lucha (Mickinoku, Toryumon), joshi (AJW, Arison, Gaea) and so on.
for a few years, the only puro tape i had ever seen was the j-crown 96 tape, which i got from a friend. i had heard nothing but good about michinoku pro, and that catered to my light-heavyweight love. so i forayed into the world of buying vids online. highspots.com was the first place i was sent to, and i ordered "the best of michinoku pro part 1 - 1995 to 1997" and BOY, did it rock. it has the famous 10 man tags, as well as 8 or 9 other matches. it's cheap, too. so if you're a light-heavy-kinda-guy.. highspots.com is a good place. there are many more, but yah. my story is done.
