No, they attacked us because they hate freedom and they want to make the Baby Jesus cry, and if you think anything different, you must hate America and ought to move to Afghanistan.

You know as well as I do that's where this thread's going...

Do you really try to get everyone pissed off at each other in this folder?

Sticking with the title of the thread, rather than have Lance Storm go to France, what the WWE can do to spice up the un-Americans is bring in a new member: a US-hating french heel. Talk about some cheap heat! EVERYONE would hate some cocky french bastard out there running down the country and the good ole red, white, and blue. In addition to the normal ring attire he would have the pencil thin mustache and beret and little neck kerchief. but then people would think he'd belong with Billy and Chuck. But still, who would EVER get more heel heat than the French? It's easy money if you ask me.

And why do we have to ask if the US policy is behind the terrorist attacks or not? Why do we care what their reasons were? Can't they just be CRAZY? Anyone who flys themselves into a skyscraper, killing themselves, everyone on board, and thousands on the ground is FUCKING INSANE! Pardon my french.

And as much as I often disagree with what OFB says, I just can't help but chuckle about the Baby Jesus crying.

I can hear half the board singing "Blame America" to the tune of the South Park song since we are, in fact, the most EVIL people on the planet.

I simply view 9/11 as a hate crime. They did it because they hate us. Its that simple.

I also disagree with the suggestion that we should capitulate to the terrorists by having more of an Islamic Extremist friendly foreign policy.

If they are going to hate us anyway I'd rather give them good reason to hate us and nuke the whole lot of them.

(I probably should avoid this folder in the future as wrestling is more fun than politics.)

Ah, so they woke up one morning and went "Man, I REALLY hate America" and then decided to fly some planes into buildings?

"I also disagree with the suggestion that we should capitulate to the terrorists by having more of an Islamic Extremist friendly foreign policy."

Yeah, so we should stick to supporting corrupt, syphillitic regimes that pay groups like Al Queda off and funding less than desirable figures to fight whoever are current enemy is, then basically dropping them once we have no use for them.

Well, I mean who can blame the rest of the world? If they follow American politics at all this is what they get: "Fucking Republicans are evil. They're all big-buisness, gun-toting, enviroment killing whores. Go fuck off you haters." And in response they get, "Leftie/Liberal Fucks. Trying to trample all over my rights, and always hating on America. Get the fuck out, you filthy satanists."

So as you can see, while neither side ever bothers to argue that their side has good qualities, they have all the time in the world to sling mud at the other side. Which leads me to believe that yes, if this represents America as a whole, then we MUST be evil, because we all believe it.

To quoth Homer J. Simpson:
"First comes the money, then comes the power, then comes the women..." [trails off]

The USA is the home of diversified industry, plentiful jobs, and more civil liberties than you can shake a stick at. It's consistently named (amongst Canada & the UK) as one of the best places to live in the world. Period. Exclaimation point.

The fact is that the rest of the world can bitch and complain all they want about foreign policy and whatnot, but you'd notice that it's only RICH countries that bash the USA, because the majority of the smaller countries are dependant on the US and their allies for trade. Trade = Money = Power. The US & Canada pretty much control trade, which means they have all the power.

So, in closing, the rest of the world owes us big-time.

The US & Canada pretty much control trade

This cracked me up to no end.

Look, I'm not saying the U.S. hasn't fucked over a lot of countries. And I'm not saying that the U.S.'s foreign policy hasn't been very short-sighted, especially during the Cold War era. But of all the countries we've screwed over, SAUDI FREAKING ARABIA (where it looks like the vast majority of the terrorists are from, as well as most of their leaders, and OBL himself) sure isn't one of them. I mean, this country is filthy rich, is one of the biggest buyers of U.S. weapons, and essentially got the U.S. to get the entire world to defend it from it's first military threat in the form of the Gulf War (notice there are no huge U.S.-led international ass-kicking coalitions when say, the Congo and Rwanda get into it). All because of our idiot insistance on not getting our junkie asses off the black sludge they happen to have a lot of. Saudi Arabia should praise Allah for the U.S. 5 times a day, becuase without us Osama's daddy couldn't have made 5 cents, let alone 5 billion dollars. I don't know how much better foreign policy these people want from us. The same essentially goes for all gulf states.

Egypt? We give them 2 billion dollars a year, most foreign aid of anyone except Israel. Afganistan? Gee, we supplied them with all their weapons and money to kick out the Soviets. Pakistan? We completely supported them with money, diplomacy against India, and weapons until they decided to send all that to hell in order to test a Nuke everyone knew they had anyway. And here we are searching for how to get these people to like us? Please, I think we do plenty already.

If, say, some Salvadorans flew the planes, I think you might have a legit question. But a bunch of Saudis? The ONLY gripe these people have is that some Jews keep kicking their ass (and did so 3 times decisively BEFORE the United States started to support them militarily and financially), which hurts their ego to no end. The fact that a) citizens of countries our foreign policy has benefited greatly carry out terrorist attacks on us and b) citizens of the countries our foreign policy has totally fucked over do NOT carry out terrorist attacks on us, leads me to believe that the reason for the terrorist attacks in not, in fact, because of our foreign policy.

Man, I'm gonna go get a drink... the shock of agreeing with Moe is killing me here.

I just had to chuckle at this: Researchers interviewed people in Britain, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Poland for the survey...

Huh? Six countries who more or less owe their existence to the US, our military might (and soldiers), and the Marshall Plan? (Not to undermine British and French contributions in WWII... well, maybe to undermine the French).

And before we piss all over US foreign policy, though it certainly does deserve at least some pissing on, Communism WAS a legitimiate threat for much of the past century, and fighting communism was and is an admirable goal. The US did some pretty nasty things around the world, but in the end they were just trying to prevent the spread of a form of government which has claimed millions upon millions of lives, and ruined millions more. Stalin, Lenin... these were not nice people, nor friendly ones. Does stopping the spread of communism justify the kind of meddling we engage(d) in? Up for debate, I suppose.

There is a big difference between a "Communist" government and a "Government that does not hold the property rights of U.S. corporations above the need to feed its citizens," a difference the U.S. did not really see so well in the Cold War era. Salvadore Allende (who was a nice, friendly person) and Joseph Stalin are not exactly comparable figures.

Yeah, the British did a lot to hold off the Germans while we tooled around before the Japanese sneak attack(oh, and we went to WAR after that). The French I have no use for, as their contribution was to spend a shitload of money on the Maginot Line and not bother to extend it to the Belgian border despite the fact that Germany invaded through the Low Countries in WWI. God I hate the French.

This just in; there is no such thing as a hate crime. Any crime is motivated by hate. Let's not turn an ACT OF WAR into something trivial by slapping a politically correct buzzword on it.

Noted. But it would be incorrect to state that the US & Canada control all trade. Canada is a nice place, but it is "USA Lite", just with more socialism, higher taxes and less freedom.
