Honestly I'd love to see HHH have a nice run with the belt getting over midcarders like those mentioned above (Jeff, Dreamer, etc...) like he did in his first run against TAKA and Rikishi. Whil it didn't really do anything for either in the long run, it gave them some instant face heat, which could be transferred over into other feuds among the lesser members of the RAW roster.
As to whether that would actually happen...The jury is still out.
You want ramifications? I'll tell you the ramifications. The ramifications are that this is the start of yet another angle that will be aborted by having VKM win some spur-of-the-moment match with someone and having his hand once again raised in victory. Vince books like he knows the product is doomed and is just pushing himself to the moon.
I give this angle 3 months before it ends with something like Vince squashing Eric in a RAW main event thereby somehow winning the Big Gold Belt and declaring he will retire it to his mantle.
drjay, if every pic posted in here was as beautiful as what you put up, I wouldn't care if each page took an hour to load.
I'm going to be cautiously optimistic for a little while, and hope that maybe WWE realizes you can't get by with a main event roster of HHH, UT, Lesnar. That someone needs to get pushed up, preferably someone new to be the ultimate foil to Lesnar. Someone hopefully named RVD.
You never know when you'll meet that special someone... the someone that's mysteriously blind to your flaws. or, you know, stupid enough not to realize that yes, you really are that cynical.
I think the title of this thread ("YES! The (WCW) WORLD TITLE!!! Ramifications?") says it all. That's WWE's line of thinking.
"Let's do this, it'll be really cool... Okay, now what?"
Hopefully, this HHH vs RVD feud isn't going in the direction of HHH "unifying" RVD's IC Title with the new crappy RAW Title (using the cool Holy Grail of Wrestling belt), but I think that's what they're trying to do. Ruin wrestling, that is.
How can all of you people be in favor of this? I was sure that some of you at least would be against two champions. You know what happens now? If RVD beats HHH for the "world championship", I could give less of a shit, cause that's just 1/2 of the real "CHAMPION". It totally devalues the WWE Title. It's like that co-IC champ thing back a few years ago....its a nice little angle, but if they stick with it, the belt is totally devalued. And the logic is retarted! - JR saying we "deserve our own world champion on raw" -- UM, WHY? Brock Lesnar defeated the CHAMPION OF ALL THE WORLD, The Rock. As far as I see, he is the Champion -- you can date the lineage of that title as far back as ass, man! How far can we date Triple H's title? OK granted, it's the WCW belt -- but that's all -- the belt, not the title. As far as I'm concerned, Brock Lesnar is the champion (Holding BOTH the WWE and WCW belts) and Triple H, while a deserving champion, holds a meaningless title. This sucks.
Dude this doesn't suck at all. Well accept for the fact that HHH was handed the belt, but Flair and Jericho already ripped him for that. Hopefully what this is leading to is Lesnar getting his big win over Taker at Unforgiven to set up a huge match with either Angle or Benoit at Survivor Series. So we'll probably get Angle-Lesnar and HHH-RVD at SS instead of HHH-Lesnar. Sounds good to me.

Any mention or sighting of anything WCW gets me more excited than you'd ever possibly believe, so I must throw my hat into the "This doesn't suck at all" column. It just helps me sleep better at night to think that someday WCW might make some form of a comeback, even if it is WWF owned. I did have my hopes up for a tournement to decide the new champ, but having that belt back in any shape or form is a good thing. I'll wait and see to complain, but I'm happy at the moment.
I think it was a mistake to use the old WCW belt for the RAW championship. As stated above, Brock's title consists of both WCW and WWE heavyweight titles. So Bischoff created a new title but used a belt claimed by the other champ.
The only way that makes sense is if Bischoff is resurrecting WCW as a sanctioning body, and is stripping Brock of the title. That would make Brock the WWE champ and HHH the WCW champ. However, the last time I checked, Eric still ran WWE RAW. Silly? You bet it is!
Having a "disputed" champ makes no sense. The storyline is that Bischoff and Steph are General Managers of two branches of the same company. Vince is still the sole owner, there is still a single sanctioning body, so there cannot be a dispute over the championship. Only Vince would have the authority to declare such a thing, which would prove him to be bi-polar, and then we'd have yet another "McMahon in the looney bin" storyline. Ask Ric Flair what that does for a company.
My brain is about to explode trying to make sense of it all. Better get the duct tape. Or maybe I'll try the WWE remedy:
"Ruthless Agression. Hymen." There, all better.
BTW, props to WWE for having Flair and Jericho challenge HHH like they did. Even more props for having Jericho get pissed over not getting an IC title match. (See, that makes the IC title seems important!)
I am the Wiener of the Day. I do not deserve to be treated like this. I shall smite thee.
Please...believe it.

In hopes of getting RVD pushed, I went hoarse yelling after he got the pin last night. Not that I think they could hear me from row Z, but what the flock!
I'm sorry, the more of WCW I see on my TV, the less I watch. There was a reason WCW didn't get ratings. People (like me) didn't want to watch it! I'm happy the WWE has managed to strip most of the good parts from WCW and put them on my tv, but the bad parts can stay buried, thank you.

I feel that this development is a mix of good and bad. It allows more guys to be involved in the top storyline, the championship storyline, but that storyline is that much less special, since there are two of them.
As far as whether it makes sense or not, I think that it could, but it hasn't been explained very well. Vince is the only authority higher than the GMs, he could settle any title dispute, but if he chooses not to, and one GM recognizes one champ and one another, there could be a title dispute. I think that Bischoff's rationale for choosing HHH could have been explained better, but maybe they wanted it to seem arbitrary for the sake of heel heat for both of them. It makes sense to me that if Brock was essentially scheduled to face HHH and he refused to meet him, Bischoff had justification to strip him and award the title to his scheduled opponent. Isn't that essentially what happened when HBK "lost his smile"?

Its great that they brought back the belt now it gives people like Booker T, Chris Jericho, Edge, Angle and so many others the chance to win their groups world title. I am also wondering who will main event Unforgiven The Raw brand or the Smackdown brand.
