I got NCAA Football 2002 for GC and naturally you have to buy a seperate memory card for it (my only true gripe about GC).

My question to you GameCube owners is if the Mega Memory Card made by Mad Catz actually works? I heard a lot of complaints about it when I was at Amazon.com and have read a few reviews on it on ebworld and what not. It seems half the people say it works and half the people don't? Do any of you have one and does it work? Or should I get the Nintendo made 256 card (which is barely big enough to hold on the info)?

Mad Catz I find makes decent products. I recently purchased their Universal RF Adapter (you can hook up a PSone/2, Cube/64, and an X-Box using just the same RF Cable) and it works like a dream. If the reviews aren't very solid on it, then see if you can scope out another 3rd Party memory card (InterAct is a GREAT 3rd Party periphal company that probably has made one).

Then again maybe the general rule should apply here....

1st party tends to not be as good as the 3rd Party stuff but you'll know it'll be 100% surefire compatible plus realible.

If I were you, I'd keep on looking around and read more reviews. If the quality concerns you that much, then go 1st party. or hope that InterAct comes out with a mega card of their own =)

EDIT: I bought a MadCatz NON-MEGA memory card, FYI. Works GREAT.

I'd go with the Nintendo one...

I've had problems with 3rd party PS memory cards, and I've never liked MadCatz controllers. I haven't heard BAD things about MadCatz memory cards, but instinct tells me to stick with Nintendo.

The Nintendo 251 should meet your needs I don't understand why these didn't come out when the GC did- I had to delete my Pikmin files to make room for my other games. Of course, I'd already beaten it and gotten the bonus Pikmin trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee, so it wasn't much of a loss. The 59 just seems so tiny.

I started playing after John Orquiola mentioned it. The only playable factions are the Federation and the Klingons (and you can only play as a member of the Klingon Empire once you get a Federation player to level 25.
