I noticed they have a lot of new t-shirts on Shopzone, for some of the midcarders. Great imo to give these guys some more exposure. We have a Spin-a-roony shirt, a Next Big Thing shirt, an Edge Army shirt, even a Goldust shirt, and wtf? A DVON shirt??? Also ofcourse the Rey Mysterio shirt. And Kane (including a view of his new mask, see Parts Unknown's thread)

And then we have a Rabid Wolverine shirt. Go over to shopzone, look at it and cry. I hope they put the guy that made this one naked, smeared with blood, in a room with some real wolverines.

Anyways, it's cool that they are making some more new shirts that aren't 'a new Rock/Austin shirt every other week'

The Benoit, Brock, and D-Von shirts I can live without. Booker and Goldust's are good, though.

A Brock Tshirt in grey with the streaks of Hogan's "blood" would have been cool..though it might be too graphic. Or one in black with his back tattoo in red on the back.

What about the rumored "Un Americans" shirt? Is it for sale yet, if at all?

This new thread and the investigation it suggests, begs the question? What makes a t-shirt in professional wrestling a hot sell? The biggest selling T-shirts have been, I think, designed in a way not too specific. For example in 1995, every shirt they sold had the wrestler's face on it. I remember a crapload of HBK shirts with Shawn in his split-legged in front of the fireworks pose, and his name on the shirt. And I remember thinking back then, that NO ONE would buy that shirt and wear it in public. Teenage girls, I suppose, but it's not like a human male alive, even if he was an HBK fan in 1996 (which was not a cool thing to be at the time) would be caught dead in that thing. Bret suffered the same way. All his shirts had his face on them, for years and years, and no one wants to be wearing a shirt with a guy (a muscular, half-naked guy to boot) on his body.

The Hulkamania shirts were well-made. It said hulkamania, that was it, and people bought them. if it had shown Hogan flexing his sweaty muscles and had the words "TWENTY-FOUR INCHES..DUDE!" on it you can bet it wouldn't have sold a single unit. And the most successful shirt, of course, was the Austin 3:16 shirt. Again, it had his name, and the popular line, but no pictures or anything of the sort. So to see the Brock shirt selling is a shock, "he is the next big thing" on the back. I think the shirts should apply to more than one situation, instead of talking about only person on one show...

I`m a sucka for a really cool-looking, simple, well-designed logo. The only WWE t-shirts I have are the original Y2J with the big silver letters on front, and the Hardy logo with their hand-signal and the fancy HB over it. That`s a really awesome logo. I plan on eventually getting the Hurri-logo t-shirt (the black one) too.

Frankly, I'd like to see them just come out with a line of WWE apparel revolving around the logo that is similar to what the announcers wear. Something like a black polo with the WWE logo embroidered on the chest. That kind of stuff.

The corporate employees can get it...why can't we?

I've got to wonder if that Benoit shirt is part of the old "self-fulfilling prophesy" theory: the shirt doesn't sell well, so Benoit supposedly isn't over. Not that I actually think they bothered to make a shirt they knew wouldn't sell just to squash a push, but sometimes they make me wonder. Shucks, my old Benoit shirt was just starting to wear out, too.

Count me in for the logo on polo shirts, dress shirts, etc. I've long bitched that they didn't sell those, though now I wouldn't buy one since there wouldn't be an "F" on the shirt. Yeah, I'm bitter.

Hogan's My Dad, I agree with you here.
The shirts that are the coolest are those that can be worn outside of a wrestling environment.
I got my benoit 'victim of the crossface' shirt and I do wear it but my favorite is the hardy boyz shirt which just says 'extreme is not a mood' and it can be worn at any occasion.
I would love to have the Brock shirt if it didn't say 'BROCK' or he is the next big thing..its too obvious and too one dimensional.
Most of the Rock/Austin shirts they kept producing had a cool catchphrase on it that was fun outside of a wrestling arena too..stuff like 'other side jackass' or 'just bring it'
But a shirt with a wrestler's image on it just isn't cool in my book.

As for the Benoit shirt, perhaps they aim this at children who want an image of a little animal on their shirt? I have no idea what they were smoking when they gave this one the nod..

i dont think that would be a good idea since it appears that the person who designed this t-shirt is either 8 years old or retarded

Thank you, that's the first time I've ever spit water all over my computer screen. That was hilarious!

And I'm not sure if this'll make you all feel better or not, but the Benoit shirt is outselling the Edge Army shirt.

Hey, I think they could probably take a page out of the playbooks of various bands and crank out shirts that don't really have anything to do with the wrestler except the name... like, (bear with me here) if I was in WWE, and I was using the character I have in mind (Jason Redcrosse), I'd come up with a "Redcrosse FC" shirt that's just a logo, like the ones European football (well, that's what they call themselves) teams use. No catchphrase, no faces, nothing. How well do you think that'd go over?

The Benoit-shirt logo looks like a graphic recycled from somebody's beer-league softball shirt. Or maybe a high school floor hockey league. Erk.

(Not that I care that much for any of the new ones shown.)

I still think the best shirts are simple. The nWo shirts, some of the early DX shirts, Austin 3:16, and Decade of Destruction shirts are all simple and not offensive on the eye. The best *goofy* wrestling shirt I've seen would be the Kai en Tai shirt. Most wrestling shirts are embarrassing at best.

Agreed with all those who said the best shirts are ones that are not so wrestling specific. Best wrestling shirt EVER was the Sting shirt which just had the scorpion on the front of it. They could have sold that one in totally non-wrestling environments and it would have sold wonderfully. Sadly as Vince gets back to his more garish roots, most of the shirts are way too cartoonish to really want to wear in public.

The problem is that they have to blatantly advertise that it's the WWF. Like the Big Show. His "Big Nasty Bastard" shirt was awesome. I actually wanted to buy one, but then I found out that it had "The Big Show" plastered all over the back. Same with the "You Suck" shirts for Kurt. They just had to ruin it by putting, "It's true, it's true - Kurt Angle" on the back.

Less is more.

The new Rey Mysterio shirt is nice, though. It's obscure enough that it can be worn in public, and the logo is a good design.

WOW, did they rein in Cole. Much better. He didn't even pounce on the botched moonsault. Randy and Ted make for a damn boring match.
