The Opening cruiser tag is on right now, and I just wanted to say that Tazz rocks cuz he completely explained why no pin was counted on the backslide legdrop combo. Smarks think that it's obvious, but I think that it was a really nice touch. Tazz is quickly becoming their best commentator play by play or color.
What a Manuever!
Ross During Jeff's Ladder Match, after the KO chairshot: "CLIMB THE LADDER KID, MAKE YOURSELF FAMOUS!" Just awesome.
Not to mention Cole is also becoming a pretty good commentator. I used to hate him, but now, I'm starting to warm up to the guy. Him and Tazz are actually becoming better than J.R. and the King, which I never thought would be possible.
After lots of thinking I finally came to a theory: Any non-wrestler who gets attacked by the Island Boyz will immediately recieve praise from the Wienerville community. There's no other way to explain it.
I agree, Tazz and Cole have gotten a lot better. I like how Tazz puts over Smackdown as the dominant brand. It adds a nice touch to the competition thing.
The thing I like about Tazz announcing is that he is subdued the way he focuses the attention on the wrestlers and the in ring action. Many times I don't notice that he is announcing, and that is a good thing. He doesn't try to give heat to himself. I think he would be better at play-by-play than color, but he does a good job.
Cole had the line of the night last night: When Tazz said such n such about how Cole rode his coattails or took after him or whatever, Cole deadpans back, "I thought you lived in Red Hook, not on Dream Street." It was a pretty good little one liner and they are really gaining some momentum. Also, I'd like to point out a few other things. Tazz was talking up the Molly Nidia match while Molly was making her entrance and he said, "I think Molly has the definite advantage in this match, because she is very technically sound, moreso than Nidia", but if Lawler had been saying anything like that, it would have been "Molly has the definite advantage because of her big ass."
Yes I know Tazz was rooting for Nidia to win so she would take off her shirt, but that's because Nidia said she would do it. It did not take his focus from the match.

I agree, Cole and Tazz did a great job last night. One of the things I like about Tazz (and D'Lo to a lesser extent) is that they actually use their in-ring experience to explain things. If you didn't know Lawler used to wrestle, you might well think he was just some old pervert in tights. Tazz gives you a kind of "expert" vibe when he talks about the psycology of a match that makes everything more "realistic" for lack of a better word. He really balances out Cole's kind of "outsider" enthusiasm.
I also liked when Cole said about Nidia I belive it was "She's got such raw talent" and Tazz said "Raw talent? This is Smackdown!"
Triple H is a dead ringer for "Buzzer" of the Dreadnoks. Just give him some mirror shades and teach him to say "Blimey, Zartan".
Is it me or is Tazz turning into a bit of a combo of Ventura and Monsoon? He is a heel announcer like Ventura, but he seems to know his stuff like Gorilla. This may very well make him into one of the best announcers ever, as long as he stays away from the Mike "Look at that! A reverse knife-edge Japanese double-dobbler" Tenay thing.

My favorite line of the night, Tazz says something like: "We're gonna get to see Nidia wrestle, but you'd rather see her 'box'" heh. I dunno why but that had me rolling. A bit perverted yes, bit in a cooler way than Lawler.

He isn't really a heel announcer, he actually is very shades of gray. At least that's my humble opinion.

Both Tazz and Cole have passed Ross and Lawler in my humble opinion. Now why can't the RAW commentators get younger?

RAW needs Joey Styles and Paul Heyman...very, very badly. Send Lawler to do whatever it is he does when he's not on TV, and have J.R. stick to feeding the announcers lines (if that's needed) and helping develop young talent.

Heyman really needs to get back behind the announce table. He's so much better than Lawler, and even Tazz, who I really like at this point. It just seems to be really easy to hate Heyman, even though he doesn't focus on himself.
