Hey all, I've devised a ratings & rankings system to determine who's been the best in the WWF so far. Here's the points system:

Undisputed Title per day 3 points
Intercontinental Title per day 2 points
Tag Team Title per day 1 point
Hardcore Title per day 1 point
European Title per day 1 point
Cruiserweight Title per day 1 point
Royal Rumble winner 20 point bonus
King of the Ring winner 20 point bonus
PPV Main Event 10 point bonus
RAW/Smackdown Main Event 5 point bonus

You get awarded points for each day of a title reign (so the stupid 15 second Hardcore reigns are eliminated), and the titles are ranked by subjective importance. The Royal Rumble and King of the Ring winners get 20 point bonuses, while if you main event a show [10 points for a PPV, 5 for RAW or Smackdown], you get points. Remember, the main event is the LAST NON-BATTLE ROYAL MATCH. There, I'm covered. Now, check out the rankings and give me your thoughts on how to perfect the system!

1.) Shouldn't there be a bonus for current title holder?

2.) You sure you didn't cook the books, just so Jericho comes out on top? :}

3.) Where did you start counting from?

So you don't get awarded for a regular victory outside of the main event? I don't like that. If you're not the champ, you're worthless in this system. Witness Jericho on top despite his recent frequent losses or Angle ranked below Tajiri or Billy and Chuck.

I agree, it ain't a perfect system. Perhaps, the objective points totals multiplied by winning percentage on RAW, SmackDown, and other shows.

Oh, and it's from January 1, 2002 onwards.

EDIT: And Jericho's only on top because he was Undisputed Champion for 2 1/2 months. That's all.

I would award points for winning any match, but on a progressive basis. By that I refer to "having momentum". Having a decent record by alternating wins and losses means your going nowhere. Having a decent record with a 15-match win streak should be worth a lot more because it means you got pushed. Likewise having a 15-match loss streak should be a bigger penalty because it means you got buried.

3 points for being current champ. two points per win by pin/submission/stipulation, one point per win due to opponent being dq'd or counted out or draw.
have a ranking, rating (0-100 based on wins over losses, points, and ranking. like cigars or wine. Benoit would have a rating of say 95, albert maybe 50) and total points per year.

Bradshaw's ranked too high. Go back to the drawing board. Unless by power you mean in-ring stiffness and potential to hurt somebody because of sloppiness.

I say Screw the Rules! The best wrestler is the one who entertaines the most people...

If youre a champ it does not mean automaticly that youre a good or the best wrestler/entertainer...

I didn't like Y2J as a champ and he won because he cheated... So no points there. You can't just count title wins. That's just ain't fair... While Y2J was champ, I still liked Austin and Angle way more than Y2J...

Entertainment value is more important then titlewins, that's my point of view...

Brock Lesner is ranked under Maven?

Did Maven get points just for knocking the Undertaker out of the Rumble? Where are Brock's 20 points for winning King of the Ring?

BTW, Jericho has a 5 PPV losing streak.

Still, the numbers are fun to argue over.

How come Jamie Noble only has 28 points? I'm sure he won the CW Title at King Of The Ring, which was what, 60ish days ago?

Godammit! I've been working on a very similar ratings system for a column over the next coupla days. Freeway, hope you don't get too pissed off if/when I send it to Z. They're similar, but not identical.
