Let us see. The year after Maurice Vaughn left Boston, the Red Sox made the League Championship series. The year after Maurice Vaughn left the Angels, the Angels appear to have a good chance to make the playoffs. Gee Mo, these teams really missed you, but then again, its Not About the Money, now, Was It?
I like Mo, in fact I wish he was still with the Red Sox. I think Daubach is good but he's really a bench player, plus he is to streaky. Tony Clark totally sucks at the plate. My opinion is that Ricky Henderson should be at 1st base.(Gotta love Ricky) You do have a piont about Mo making too much money, but who in baseball doesn't. However I did enjoy Vaughn with the Red Sox, rember he was an MVP.

And Mike Greenwell finished second in the M.V.P. voting in 1988, that doesn't mean that I didn't dislike him as well. I would cut Clark though, and it should be Baerga at first base, not Ricky.

You DISLIKE #39? Whyever so? The man holds, or at least held, the record for game-winning RBI in a single season! Greenwell kept the Sox' proud tradition alive in left field, and once called his teammates "wimps and fairies" for not participating in a brawl.
Using a key to gouge expletives on another's vehicle is a sign of trust and friendship.

Agree wholeheartedly on the personnel moves, but at least give Clark credit for somehow not sucking defensively at first. Maybe he's making those plays because he's 6'7", but he is doing better than he has any right to play, at least when the other team's hitting.
Speaking of Tony Clark, are there any ex-Tigers who are actually contributing? Jeff Weaver (bullpen, yeah that is why the Yanks traded Lilly for him), Cedeno, Clark, Moehler, Todd Jones....have mercy on the team that decides "Now batting for the [team name here], Booooooooobbbbby Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiggenson."

Buddy Groom is still rocking in the O's bullpen. Juan Encarnacion is having a good year in Florida still. Other than that, I don't think I can even name that many former tigers.
Not to nitpick, but Encarnacion came to the Marlins from the Reds, and Groom hasn't been on the Tigers since '95 (more of an ex-A than an ex-Tiger).
The only player I can think of that had mild success as an ex-Tiger was Jose Lima, but since it was for the Astros, it shouldn't count, since all players on the Tigers come from the Astros, or get traded there and back at some point.
Come to think of it, HoJo came to the Mutts from the Tigers.

Some guy named Gonzalez has had a few good years in Arizona since the Tigers traded him.
Thank you Mr. Wanz for the check, now you get an AWA World Title Reign. But be careful, my boy Greg is a heat machine.

Granted, but he is technically more of an ex-Red than an ex-Tiger....for the purpose of me spinning this useless data, anyway, since it has nothing really to do with Meet the Mets, Greet the Mets, Come on Everbody Beat the Mets.

Ah, one season. I guess he didn't let the shitty Detroit mystique rub off on him. All I was originally trying to say was: Gee golly, there sure are many players who, coming directly from the Tigers, sure suck for their new teams! I probably should have clarified that, but hey, I like painting with broad strokes.

If I was a Tiger fan I would be more pissed with the all-star type players that just sucked ass when they were with Deroit(Jaun "Gone" Gonzalez, and Hideo Nomo). And I would be happy with Ex-Tiger players sucking ass for some other club.
P.S. Mike Greenwell f*#king rocked! Baerga is a better leader, but he can't hit or run like Ricky.
As a Braves fan,I'm happy the way the Mets season has turned out.It shut up alot of the people who were running their yaps about the Mets and how they were gonna destroy the Braves this year.
Rebecca: Oh,face it,you just hate everybody.
Enid: That's not true.I just hate all these extroverted,obnoxious,pseudo-bohemian losers.

Ricky's hitting .240 and Baerga is hitting about .320.

Career Satistics before this year.
Baerga AVG .291 R 659 H 1400 HR 124 RBI 686 BB 253 SB 52
Henderson AVG .280 R 2248 H 3000 HR 290 RBI 1094 BB 2141 SB 1395
I see you didn't compare their Stolen Bases. Career Ricky has 1343 more SB's. If you give Ricky the chance he is more productive at the plate. Carlos Baerga 2001 Played 53 games in the Independent Atlantic League for the Long Island Ducks and hit .315(64-203) with nine home runs and 44 RBI...Selected to the 2001 Atlantic All-Star Team. 2000 DNP. 1999 Released by St. Louis in spring training signed by Cincinnati and played AAA Indianapolis. Asked for and was granted his release, signed w/ San Diego and played w/ AAA Las Vegas. Promoted to San Diego...hit .167,1 HR,and 1 RBI as a pinch hitter. Aquired by Cleveland. Hit .241,3 HR, 10 RBI, in 55 MLB games.
Oh no, wait. Your right, and I am mistaken. Baerga has been lighting up the league the last 3 years! Baerga for MVP!
I could post up the career statistics of Babe Ruth or Ty Cobb and argue that their corpse would be a better lead-off hitter than Baerga using your logic.
You have to look at Rickey's ability TODAY when you make a comparison. Otherwise it's not fair.
I don't have an opinion in this argument, but I wanted to point out that your logic was flawed.
I was pointing out how Ricky has stayed in the Major Leagues the last couple of years and Baerga has been all over the place. And as a Red Sox fan I would take the corpse of the Babe or Ty Cobb at first, they could show better production in that spot than has been shown this year. So if you got the shovel, I got the time. Plus, I was showing all around production value. Baerga may have a higher batting Avg. this year, but that won't show offensive possibilities. If they need a stolen base Zim who would you put in to Run? I'm not knockin' Baerga(He is a good clubhouse guy and good in the field), I just like the options Ricky can bring to the plate.
Edit: I don't think at this time any are better than the "Hit Dog" Mo Vaughn.
