Luckily, I got some other SUCKAAAAAAAAA to pay for this week's edition of NWA: TNA. So let's look at this week's show.

GOOD:
-The Moment of Truth: I hate to steal ANYTHING from Ed Ferrara, but that was a good line to describe the NEW World Champion, The Truth! That brings Shamrock's heatless reign to a merciful end. Maybe Shamrock can challenge for a rematch in the next few weeks and keep The Truth occupied until Monty Brown is elevated into the main event. The title scene is suddenly looking up. Who said Ron Killings couldn't draw?! Stupid WWE.

-The Main Event: After some so-so outings with some bad finishes, tonight's main event restored my faith in the X Division. You can't say the NWA aren't listening to their fans. They noticed Low Ki is over, therefore he gets to run with the title. Stupid, stupid WWE.

BAD:
-Disco's Segment: I hope somebody mercy-kills Disco's crappy talk show and SOON! At least it wasn't ME paying $10 this time. And this badness is perfect segue for...

-The Dupps: I HATE the Dupps! They do not entertain me and they're basically characters out of a Vince McMahon wet dream (gotta love 'dem hillbillies). They've consistently been the low point of the show and that's yet another perfect segue for...

-And you thought WWE had bad hardcore: The alleged "hardcore" match between the Dupps and Ed Ferrera actually was awful! It made the WWE clusters look like 1995 ECW by comparison. And that's all I have to say about that.

Another mixed bag, but like I said last week, mixed bags aren't worth my $10. It's time to wait and see if next week's tag title match is worth the price of admission.

"That's right! You suckas better FIND somewhere to run! 'cause it's me - Booker T - not only am I the Scorpion King, but I'm the five-time WCW Champion - and I got a sword, too! Now can U dig THAT - SUCKAAAAAS"
-Booker T, Hollywood's next big superstar!

And that's the bottom line, because it's false! It's DAMN false!

The main even was amazing and worth the price by itself. I missed the first 30 minutes because I thought it would be crap, didn't realize it would be the title match. THAT's an odd way to book your title... but I have it on tape so I'll watch it later tonight.

I don't think I will be watching anything else over again though besides the main event. I really don't care for Apollo - JJ was OK. Harris was alright but nothing to write home about, and the same goes for the other guys in that match.

I'm still wonder what happened to Daffney. She was in the second one, but we haven't seen her since... I really like her.

I don't need to see Funk's ass again. I really, really don't.

WWE wasn't stupid. K-Kwik couldn't wrestle a live match without blowing SEVERAL spots. If he improved, good on him. However, him winning the belt doesn't prove he's a draw.

And Low Ki' is frightningly overrated.

Unless that main event was light years ahead of anything they've done in the X Division, as far as psychology and selling, then I doubt I missed anything. I'm so immune to spot-spot-spot-spot wrestling right now that I probably would have hated it. If that's not what it was, then tell me so, but I'll be really shocked to hear otherwise.

I'm still not buying this stuff anymore. I saw the one moment I wanted to see: The Truth winning the World Title and they still ruined it for me in the next 15 minutes. Anyone that can put on a show that features the single thing I wanted to see the company do and I still come off hating the show, they don't deserve my money.

It wasn't just spots without selling. I think having the three guys go at once really helped them sell the offense because they could keep a fast paced match going, but still have someone sit off to the side and recover from a move.

I thought this was the best overall X match that I've seen in terms of psychology and spot ratio. Lo Ki is awesome - he is by far and away my favorite wrestler PERIOD right now. Compared to some of the guys who were supposed to be so great (Christopher Daniels is the only name that really comes to mind) I think he is the surprise breakout star of this company.

(Granted, I had high expectations of Jerry Lynn already, and AJ is not too shabby when he remembers to sell a little)

Sometimes it seems to me that a lot of people really want to see the NWA suck just because they want to have something to bitch about (*cough*grutman*cough*).

Personally, I thought the show was really solid last night. Yeah, the Disco/Dupps/Ferrara segment was death, but I really thought it was the only glaringly bad spot. I could do without the Steamboat heel turn, too. First because we already get enough "Evil Boss" crap from WWE, and second because it seems like Ricky is more useful as a link to the honor and tradition of the NWA's past.

I think putting the belt of Killings is a TREMENDOUS move. He's got a great look, and he's turned into a killer on the mic. I just hope that they let him keep the belt for a while, until they find somebody who actually deserves the championship rub from beating him. Let him work an extended feud with somebody established, like Hall, to make him look legit in the eyes of the casual fans. Maybe by then they'll have a big time face who's ready to make a run for the gold.

Anyway, I saw last night's show as a big step in the right direction, although admittedly they have to keep making those kinds of steps every week before they really catch on. But this show was WAY better than the previous two weeks, and it seems like they're trying to find a middle ground between the old school type show that they were putting on at first, and the WWE rip-off of recent weeks. Maybe Jerry Jarrett is finally realizing that the old school style was what gave his show a feeling of being unique.

The main event was incredible, at least in terms of a spot wrestling match. The fans were great too, as they kept up with the match all the way through.

I liked the weird look that The Truth had on his face after he won the title. It seemed to be a "hey, my whole gimmick consisted of telling people how 'they' have been holding me down and now I have won the title" expression.

Jeff Jarrett screaming about reverse discrimination was a great idea, as he obviously had to think about why he has been ducked for so long. Too bad he had to carry Apolo to a halfway-decent match.

BTW, during the scene with Bruce walking up to Taylor Vaughn in the back, you can see that one of the girls who held Taylor back was in fact Daffney. So I am glad that my girl Shannon is still seemingly with the company.

The Dupp portion was overlong, but I have to admit that I laughed heartily when Stan was going over all the rules. And the image of an old ticket lady beating away Bo Dupp with a broom is too priceless.

Finally, the writers need to stop doing face/heel turns based on the crowd's incessant cheering of the heels. Jeff Jarrett is MUCH better as a heel, and I don't care if 100 percent of the crowd loves him, he should not turn. Ditto with the Truth. I do like how AJ Styles has turned though, he works as a heel.

Overall, great show that suffers from a crowd that seems more like a Philly ECW crowd than a face-loving Nashville audience.

Hly crap i didnt know Jimmy Yang spoke english!!!

The biggest dissapointment for me on this show was Don West's weekly hardsell of the next week's show. His face didnt even turn red.

By the way, was that move prior to the finish of the flying elvisis' match by Yang the shining wizard that i always hear about???

NWA was a mixed bag again.

I think the Dupps are hilarious. That promo they cut a few weeks back about just bumping into another wrestler backstage to get a match was classic. This week, that segment was AGONY. Wayyyy too long. But I think the concept is great! They should have a score tally on the screen during those matches though. People will like the idea better once the WWE presents the watered-down 'Dupp Cup for dummies' version.

The SATs are freaking awesome. They have such a fresh moveset, that finisher is insane. And Red is unbelieveable. I see what people are saying when they call them 'acrobats not wrestlers' but really, relax. They're fun to watch, not everybody has to be benoit. Mikey Whipwreck seems like he's a hell of a trainer! Also, with the SATs, Elvises, and Dupps NWA has a sweet tag division!

Jimmy Yang was good on the mic, but sweet jesus don't ever let Jorge sing again. Talk about awkward, I felt like I farted in front of my 7th grade english class again.

Oh, thank god ferrera left. I pray he never comes back, I like Tenay and west just fine.

Something seems amiss. Now MORE enemies are forming tag teams? Why the hell are they repeating the same idea over and over? And Sonny Siaki = Rock, and Paulina = Chyna in her original bodyguard role. Is Russo out of ideas or what?

I love Killings and Ki, but geez... they could have milked those title chases a bit. If they want to toss Shamrock and go with Scott Hall every week (which is what I hope they do), well OK give the belt to The Truth. But Low Ki also winning the X title on the same show.. seems like they blew their wad all at once.

But I marked out for the triple threat, haven't done that since Rock/Hogan (sneer if you must). The 'each other's finishers' series sounds like it was inspired by that rock/angle/taker triple threat at the last wwe ppv (didn't see it), but damn if i wasn't flipping out. Three sweet finishers, an awesome match! In baseball terms, I'd call this match a triple, maybe a home run.

The Bruce thing just isn't working. The guy seems like a great character, but the angle.. there's just nothing to it. Nobody is getting behind taylor vaughn, and bruce bumping like a madman for her weak offense just isn't convincing. He seems to be trying to make her look like gold, but she just ain't that good.

Anyway, I am really happy with the NWA. I am just so bored with the WWE formula (every tag match is EXACTLY THE SAME) and I am really starting to get into it now, thanks to The Truth and Low Ki.

Yup. They do indeed speak English in the region Yang is from. I think it's called Florida. =)

If the move was a kneestrike to the head, it was a Shining Wizard.

Thanx for clearing that up mild mannered madman. Apologiez for not knowing where
Mr. Yang was from. I guess i should be wondering if the guy knows japenese then.
I wonder if the bitchmaster himself (Ohtani) knows english?
