Now that Bill Parcells has proved to be a jackass, ESPN is saying the Bucs may offer the Oakland Raiders some kind of compensation (draft picks, cash, etc.) and in return get the right to make Raiders head coach Jon Gruden their new head coach.

One word: Yes! Gruden as the Bucs coach excites me much more than a proven winner like Parcells did, strangely enough.

I think Tampa should be forced to forfeit all games for one year after the screw job they did on Dungy.

I think the firing was wrong too...but they still need to find a replacement.

Besides, they actually might be punished, as they without permission talked to some coaches who were already under contract with other teams while prematurely trying to assemble a staff for Parcells.

Coachs are always getting screwed by the team owners, no matter where. There are a few rare examples where coaches have the respect of the owners like Pittsburgh but it's sad there's no loyalty. Gruden may I point out got quite a bit of flak from Al Davis for being interested in the Florida job which Zook got, making all the more likely he may pack up and leave. Davis may say "Screw compensation, take this bastard away". All he cares about is having a running dog coach who'll do what he says.

So I say: Yes! Gruden deserves better. Go to Tampa.

Anything to get your Packers another payoff berth? Hehe, don't worry, the Pack will probably be back next year.

Hey, coaches are hired to be fired. I am a Bucs fan, always have been. But I can see why Tony was let go. The team was in a standstill. They got to a certain point, and could get no further with him. That wasn't a knock on him, more a knock on the team. So they needed to get someone to motivate them to get further. Plus the offense stunk terribly. I think Tony is a great coach and Indy might be a better fit for him right now.

if your a good coach and do a good job in a place then you should have ownership loyalty... it sux that not many pro teams at all have that kind of loyalty

Yes, Ser, it does suck, but it's the nature of the game. If the coach isn't winning, revenue goes down, and the coach goes down the can. If the coach wins too much, he leaves for a team where the coach went down the can to get more money.

Why in the world would Auburn leave? Every team that left its conference took a step up. No insult to the Big (four) t(e)en, but it would be a step down. I know $>Rivalries, but there isn't more money in the B1G than in the SEC. I could see Ga.
