This thread may have degenerated into a Final Fantasy discussion, but I'll still come out of the shadows and make my Official Debut Post (tm) here where no one will notice. Hurray! Huzzah! And yadda yadda yadda.
Shame my favorite FF had no Cactaurs. It DID have Rydia though, and that more than makes up for it.
Speaking of Final Fantasy games, I'm a bit too stubborn in the fact that when I say I'm going to do something, I do it. Saying "Yeah, I can get level 99 in FF5" was probably not a wise thing to do. After I gain 17 more levels, I don't think I'm playing that damn game ever again.
I guess I will debut my first post here as well. 2 years of lurking comes to a bitter end.
Final Fanyasy is okay, but nothing rocked harder than Faxanadu for the old NES. I had maps taped to the wall and burned up the old Game Genie on that game. I played it so much my Tecmo Bowl divorced me. It still hurts inside. Not as bad as when my Rob the Robot left me though. Gyroscope was okay for giggles, but Legend of Zelda took away a good year of my life.
At first I thought, if I were Superman, a perfect secret identity would be "Clark Kent, Dentist," because you could save money on tooth X-rays. But then I thought, if a patient said, "How's my back tooth?" and you just looked at it with your X-ray vision and said, "Oh it's okay," then the patient would probably say, "Aren't you going to take an X-ray, stupid?" and you'd say, "Aw f*** you, get outta here," and then he probably wouldn't even pay his bill.
Blah blah, official delurk, caving to Guru's pressure, what have you.
I'm a sucker for the old-style FF games - 4 thru 6. I tried playing 7, and after trying to climb the Shinra(?) tower, I gave up on the storyline. I like my RPG's 2D.
