Is anyone watching this show ? (The wife makes me watch) Most of the girls who are left can sing (especially Kelly) but the two guys that are left - they are poster children for why teenage girls should not be allowed to use a cell phone. I do dig on Simon Cowell and his brutal yet accurate criticism's of some of the lesser talents.

The way that they try to manipulate the audience into hating Simon bothers me. I dig Simon too. The funny thing is that it has backfired (and yet, they keep doing it). When they introduce Simon now, he gets like 90% cheers and 10% boos.

I agreed with Simon when he said that everyone left by this point has legit talent. Justin has fallen off recently, but he was blowing everyone away at first, and I think he just has to stop hamming it up so much. RJ, I agree he is soulless, but his voice is nice.

My favorite to win is Tamyra. Sadly, they will probably saddle whoever wins with such crappy material that even if I like their voice, I probably wouldn't buy their album.

By this point, I am hooked to see who wins, and yet the show often bothers the hell out of me. I think the hosts are terrible, and so is Paula Abdul, and I think there is way too much product-shilling and pointless time-killing. I won't follow the next one if it's gonna be the same in those aspects.

It ain't music unless they're playin' instruments. I'm tired of seeing singing and dancing puppets. I can't wait until we move on as a society (and the way this shit is being shoved down our throats we WILL move on).

Also, I'm just not a big fan of singers/dancers. I like musicians. If you wanna' just sing join a chorale, if you wanna' sing and prance do musical theatre. Also, Mtv fuels this crap so I guess it goes with whatever Mtv wants to do.

Come join the randomly selected Wiener of the Day, where ALL the girls be puttin' out.

Respect the opinions of others. Unless they're unoriginal, uninventive morons with no class who use racial slurs and homosexual hate-language for insults. Then break the bastard down. It's 2002 ya'll. There's other races and gays a plenty out there in the real world. Get used to it.

(points to self) Is tired of bitching about Triple H all the time. Is no longer contributing to the hatred. Ir's a waste of our times. We're just going to have to accept he's a main guy and he can't wrestle as well. Period.

It doesnt matter who wins, how much talent they've got, what their voice is like, or anything. You're still going to have to suffer dire, dire covers and shitty balads like us Brits have had too.

The music of The Doors has never sounded as awful as Will Youngs version of "Light my Fire".

I'd cry but I fear I have not enough tears to shed over the dross that is pop music, and pre-fab pop especially.

It's become one of the handful of shows I watch every week-twice, and it's such crap! OK, Kelly and Tamyra are both extremely talented, and Simon's honesty is refrehing but every other aspect of the show- the ridiculous product placement skits, the hosts, the labeling of Nikki as some sort of original rebel archetype, anything coming out of Justin and RJ, and more that I can't remember- is a huge inslut to my intelligence. But I know where I'll be next Tuesday at 9:00. I'm not proud.

Please, people, do not hold Cowell in such high regard. This little scumwad is one of the people responsible for the talentless groups that fill our charts. The man thinks WESTLIFE are the best group in the world.

Superfunky, sorry but I liked Gareth Gates last one in a "Shouldn't like it, but I find myself humming it", even if it is a ripoff of a Backstreet Boys song. Oh, and Darius rules.

Agreed. As far as I'm concerned, American Idol can't even wash the jockstrap of "Bands on the Run." And VH1 is a collective of complete fools and idiots for not doing another season of that show. Fools and idiots, I tell you!!

And they finally got rid of R.J. That kid was so out of his class compared to Tamyra and Kelly

I thought Nikki would go, actually -- she started off bad and seems to get worse every week -- but I think she got saved by her cute kid. Nikki really HAS to go next week, unless she pulls off something incredible. I heard next week was an '80s and '90s theme, so maybe the performances will get better with songs that the kids give a shit about. Big band and Burt Bacharach were both lame.

I liked the big band week. Kelly and Tamyra were great, but Nikki was awful. I agree that RJ had to go this week. Both he and Nikki are outclassed, but at least Nikki seems to have a personality. RJ was so bland.

Nikki singing "Fernando" ? Oh joy.

at least pretty boy RJ hit the skids finally and I have to agree with an earlier post that Nikki's kid may have saved her for one more week - that or the power dialers that FOX has acknowledged are hitting the voting.

I must admit Darius at least has shown some talent in writing his own song. But it will still be a case of "where are they now?" in 2-3 years time. Please, please, please can he release his "Baby one more time" cover. Ha ha ha

That show was MUCH more entertaining when they were still going city to city weeding out all the sucky people. Now that everybody left is half-way talented, I havent watched since.

That sneaky Nikki may just have redeemed herself. Not that she was great, but, she was fine. I still think more likely than not, she goes, but I think it's like a 60% chance of Nikki, 40% chance of Tamyra. Tamyra wouldn't really deserve it, of course, but I don't think Justin or Kelly are going under any circs, so if it's not Nikki, then...

Now they've gone and given Tamyra the boot! I guess RJ's teenage girl votes all drifted over to Justin. God, I hope he doesn't win. If anyone but Kelly takes it, I've wasted a lot of tv watcing this summer.

If you hadn't seen the show before Tuesday night (and from the ratings - millions more are watching each week) and you only had those performances by which to make your judgement, then it is highly likely you would not have been all that impressed with Tamyra and very impressed with Nikki. Tamyra was out her element singing "New Attitude" - she danced like Whitney, Mariah and Celine than sang like them. Nikki was finally in her element singing in a genre that fits her "style". There are a lot of kids out there like her who like her look, like her determination and like to cheer for the underdog like themselves. Kelly should win this thing but as last night showed and Simon pointed out, anything can happen.

BTW, my wife wanted to know when Justin was going to give Michael Jackson his nose back.

I have not been a fan of Nikki since the beginning, but her version of "Mary Jane" from Alanis was beautiful. Her second song was good as well, and saved her butt for another week.

Tamyra's first song ("New Attitude) was really bad, kind of like how Nikki was in every other round before Tuesday night. For once, Nikki deserved to be spared, and more people felt as I did.

At this point, I won't cry for Tamyra because she will be snatched up by some record label probably by the time you read this post.

In closing, GO KELLY!!
