That's really impressive, since IU and Purdue normally play for the Old Oaken Bucket. :>

Right...I meant the Little Brown Jug. I know *you're* just bitter because it was Purdue 17, Indiana 6 for the Old Oaken Bucket and you felt the disturbance in the force.

Or not.

I've gotten used to them losing it in real life. Why not have them lose in PS2 too?

Of course, the question is: Why would someone want to play the evil and diabolical Boilermakers over the chaste and pure Indiana University?

Honestly? Because if you scroll up from "Washington" you hit Purdue first, so there ya go. They both suck in the PS2 though. If Good Ol' JR? had been watching the game I played I'm sure I would have heard something about a bowling shoe.

JayJayDean, as a fellow "gotta put the names in" guy, I would reccomend picking up Athlon Sports College Football preview magazine, if you don't have it already, they've got everyone's 2 deep depth charts. You can get about 90% of each team in from that book. I'm doing all the teams out of the book and then when I finish hopping on-line to fill in the spots.

Anyway, does anybody else do what I like to call "Coach Mode" where you merely recruit players and set your schedules while simulating all the games? I can't stop doing that, I turn that contract option off and spend all night trying to turn teams around, it's addicting as hell.

Bengals, Playoffs, 2002.

DON'T BELIEVE IT!

I got the Sporting News preview to get started, but then I just went online and printed all the rosters. Well, most of them so far, butsince my boss is out today I'll be doing finishing up by printing the WAC and Sun Belt teams and the independents. If you go onto the school's athletic dept. website you can usually find the 2002 prospectus and that has a numerical roster, which is a must have I think because sometimes the vital stats are different on the game than in the magazine and it's a lot easier to find the numbers instead of sorting through 6 pages of alphabetized names. On a related note, whoever does the Colorado State website should be hunted down and shot. I also printed the recruiting classes of ESPN.com, which helped me finish the Pac-10 schools with only 3 or 4 guys with no names.

Last year I got through all the big 6 conferences but kind of burned out after that. I also made the mistake of putting the names into my Dynasty Mode rosters last year, another reason why I quit as they were only good for the one dynasty instead of anytime I wanted to use them. Thus, I thank EA for having the rosters auto-load on this year's game.

On a separate note, I got revenge against (now) hated Michigan State by winning the Megaphone with (formerly) hated Notre Dame in a 56-7 thrashing. I tried to win with MSU first, but threw a pass into triple coverage with 40 seconds left in a tie game that got intercepted. A lot of times that works inspite of the coverage, but apparently Jeff Smoker is a poor man's Matt Hasselbeck, so there you go. Notre Dame was the first really impressive running team I've played with (Wisconsin doesn't count, because that was the first game I played) and I ended up with almost 300 yards rushing with Julius Jones getting 212 on his own. Next up is Houston and Rice...I can't *believe* I'm going to spend 20 minutes of my life inputting the Rice roster names.

Yes, i know what you mean, i was really addicted simulating and just recruting in 2002, but i had to play atleast one game a season or i felt like i wasn't getting my money worth. But yes it's very fun, my goal was to coach every team atleast once. I think i only got about 20 teams in though. Maybe this one will be different. I think my first dynasty will be as Vanderbilt (even though i'm a Florida fan) because man i feel sorry for those guys.

You're all so WONDERFUL. Why did they ever have to remove you from the continuity? You'd have made for MARVELOUS stories. You WILL make marvelous stories. And the FIRST story of the new world will be a story of REVENGE! -- The Psycho Pirate, Animal Man 23, May 1990.
