I like to know everyone's opinions on Bruce Springsteen. Does anyone have his new album? I personally use to like him, but lately ypu can't tell the difference between his songs. They all sound just like his old songs.
"Behind the bag, it gets through Buckner and the Mets win"
I've listened to it a couple of times, as well as caught his performance on the Today show yesterday.
The new album is really good, if a little difficult to listen to sometimes(given the subject matter of a few of the songs). It does prove that he's still relevant in music today, even with a constantly changing musical landscape. I don't know if it'll have the same impact on popular music like the U2 album from a couple of years ago, but it still is a tremendous rock album.
The thing I'm looking forward to is the tour. I'm planning to go to Buffalo and Toronto. I don't know that any artist on earth can touch Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in a live performance.
Brad Sherwood from Whose Line Is It Anyway also does a pretty good Boss impression.
I played a couple of tracks on my radio show yesterday, but I'm going to listen to the whole record tonight at work. Viva la Boss...let's just hope this record is better than his last few.

I listened to the new album 3 times on the way from Boston to Philly last weekend. Needless to say, I really enjoyed it. Maybe it was because I was driving through NYC and Jersey. It added some nice visuals to the songs. Either way, I have a feeling that this will be Santana 1999 all over again. You know, the old "Veteran rocker puts out a new album that's indicative of the times, so we have to throw praise and every critical award upon him". Bank on it come Grammy time. See also: Clapton, Eric for MTV Unplugged.
I haven't bought a Springsteen album since "Darkness on the Edge of Town".....and everytime I drive by the Asbury Park exit on the GSP I blast "Incident on 57th Street" and his greatest song ever - "Rosalita"
"Me, I need tending. Someone to take care of me. Someone to rub my tired muscles, smooth out my sheets."
The barnstorming tour started last night...I've been looking at all the Bruce-related message boards. People seem to be upset that he's playing new material, instead of another oldies tour like 1999-2000. Aren't tours supposed to be in support of new albums? People are weird.
I really do enjoy the Rising CD, it has taken a few listens to really get into the groove. I do like the song Worlds Apart, there is some great guitar work in there, as well as the unification of musical styles between East and West. I'm also really enjoying Lonesome Day and Countin' On A Miracle.
I'm looking forward to the tour coming by Buffalo in October and Toronto in December! It will be odd seeing the E Street Band perform on the MTV awards later this month, though-they seem completely out of place with the rest of the artists.

The E Street Band fills MTV's quota of having one band on the show that is actually talented.

So the new album- is it upbeat or more of the quieter, more reflective stuff we've gotten from him recently? I mean, does it rock like only the E Street Band can rock? And is the tour essentially new music? That will help me determine whether or not to grab tix. I missed out last time, but unsure if I will go if it's 50% new stuff that I'm less familiar with. That may sound silly, but if I see Bruce, I want to hear the classics.
You probably don't want to go to the concert, then. They're touring in support of the new album, and yeah, 50% of what they're playing will be the new stuff. That being said, the new album is really good, and it alternates between upbeat songs and the quieter, introspective songs. You could probably listen to some samples online to see if you like it.

Oh wow, that is the best thing I've heard all day. And the most true.
"Sales of penis-enlargement treatments and devices in 2000 totaled in excess of $600 million," Skolnick said. "Cock-lengthening is, no pun intended, a consistent growth industry in the U.S., and this bill would severely emasculate it. As usual, it's the little guy who suffers."

Tell me you did not just say that. Clapton Unplugged was the album that actually got me listening to music (I was in elementary school at the time) and inspired me to become a musician. After years of playing and listening to music, I still love that album.
