Pack up a sack lunch, and don't drink that extra Coke on your break. Spend the $10 you save on NWA TNA #7, if for no other reason than to listen to Tenay call all of the moves - and demonstrate what a wrestling announcer should be.
You may not have this chance for much longer. If you've ever been curious, give it at least a shot.
I'm more interested in Don West as an announcer than Tenay -- and honest to God, I almost shelled out $10 just to see it. But that would violate my long-standing policy of never buying a PPV ever.
I didn't like Tenay before and I'm sure I wouldn't like him now. It's very nice that he calls moves, but it takes a lot more than that to be a good announcer, and a good announcer he ain't. In fact, I would even go so far as to say his calling moves diminishes him as an announcer. He does it in a way that makes him seem smarmy and arrogant and somehow clueless at the same time, like the guy in front of you at the house show who keeps turning back to helpfully let you know that Kane used to be the fake Diesel.

I'm with VK Wallstreet on this one. I don't ever remember detecting emotion in the man. Hell, Benoit looks like an Oscar-winner next to Tenay. As much as I appreciate the fact that he knows the name of moves...so do a great deal of Weiners. I guess WWE could ,hire him to teach the names to JR and Cole, though.

I had said I would never order this stuff again after last week and then they announced Hall-Jarrett and sucked me right back in. I really should know better.
Also, VK, you're not missing ANYTHING with Don West. He's the most annoying announcer I've ever heard, his calls basically consist of "This is awesome!" and "Only on TNA!"

Am I the only one that thinks Michael Cole has really improved as of late? I mean, I used to despise the guys work and now I actually enjoy it. He interacts well with Tazz and he does seem to call moves a lot more now. He still tends to stray away from the match from time to time, but that's forgivable because I'm sure he's probably told to emphasize the big things to come. I honestly think Cole is one of the most improved people in that entire company. And comparing him to Don West is just wrong. Funaki would be a better commentator than Don West is.
As for Lynn-Low Ki, as Guru pointed out, I'm looking forward to it too, if only because Lynn seems to be the least spotty of their X-Division guys and we could actually see a real match here instead of a spotfest.

Nope, I think Cole is doing much better. Taz has also improved greatly. he doesn't seem to be fumblling over his word like he did a couple of months ago.

Not to be paranoid, but, is it possible they decided to start doing more overdubbing of the commentary? Suddenly, Cole became Tenay overnight? I dunno.
gonna build a giant drill and bore straight into hell releasing ancient demons from their sleep-forever spell so they can walk upon the earth and get recituated and run the diet pill pyramid that MC Pee Pants has created
I read somewhere that they are going to give Lynn/Low Ki 20 minutes for that match. I'm not sure if it's true but it beats the hell out of 3 minute WWE midcard matches.
What'shisface that does the "backstage" column for their website (Borash, maybe?) said that. Jerry Jarret got wind of it and was apparently upset that he would say something like that. I think part of the reason is that people have been complaining about how short X Division matches are (or so Jarret said in his post over at some message board), and that Low-Ki and Red were supposed to go a lot longer last week. That might explain why the tag match was so long last week. No matter what, it's gonna be a pretty good show. I got last week's and was impressed, and would get it again, but I'm not gonna' be home tonight. I think that says a lot, seeing as how I am very unemployed right now.

If I'm not mistaken -- and I very well might be -- all the commentary for Smackdown has always been done back in Stamford on Wednesday or Thursday, with JR and Vince present and whispering into Cole's ear. (Watch Beyond the Mat for a good example of the live version of the technique.) I think Cole and Tazz just come out at the taping and sit there the whole time. I'm absolutely sure that's what they used to do for the syndicated shows.

This is probably my only shot to get the show as I'm off early, but I still think I'm going to pass. I saw their highlight/little show they put on America One, and I wasn't as impressed as I thought I'd be and this was a show at the old arena. Judging from CRZ's recap they scaled back the budget a bunch and it looks more low tech than before.
I think the show would have a better shot if they weren't on a PPV basis every week. They really need a television slot where they don't have to draw huge ratings off the bat.
Another reason for the pass on my part is I really cannot stand Jeff Jarrett. He's okay as a medium sized fish in the lake, but not the big fish in the small pond...I'm lacking of a better phrase.
EDIT: Well, it's 8 and I was going to break down and order the PPV...only to find that my cable company doesn't even offer it. That sucks.
But when Nitro was on TNT, Turner not only owned the station, but the company too. Here, UPN doesn't have to worry about the cost of putting the show together, only airing it.
