Coronavirus panic buying is strong in this part of the world.

Supermarkets everywhere in Oz are sold out of arse paper.

What's the status in your respective necks of the woods? Empty shelves or normal service?

somewhat the same here in the middle of NA. Toilet paper can be in shorter than usual supply. The warehouse clubs are restricting purchase amounts of that, water and sanitizer. The news cycle never stops shouting

I was on vacation for the past 2 weeks (excellent timing, me) and just got back Thursday night. I went grocery shopping Friday. Went to Safeway around noon and Costco around 2:30. Both were busier than usual but neither was terrible. I heard Costco was a nightmare right when it opened (people actually fighting) so I'm glad I missed that.

TP was in short supply at Safeway but I got some. There were no Lysol wipes or hand sanitizer anywhere. Costco was out of bread and low on frozen vegetables. But all in all, not too bad.

I have a friend in small town Ontario who said entire aisles of his store were bare - no milk at all, no pasta. My father-in-law said the same thing on Vancouver Island - no pasta or rice anywhere. A friend in Saskatoon went shopping this morning and said the line to pay wrapped around the store and started at the dairy section in the back. All in all, I really lucked out.

I was in Sam's yesterday PM. Packed. Packed.

They had sold out all the water, toilet tissue, meat, produce, hand sanitizer, spaghetti, cleaning wipes, lunchmeat and yogurt they had. All frozen chicken nuggets gone. All but a couple bags of frozen french fries in the frozen potato section.

The guy told me they usually do 3-4 pallets of water a day and they had done 20.

It was a madhouse and absurd.

Still going on here. Escalating in fact.

Haven't been able to get a resupply of arse paper since my last post.

Now tissues, paper towel, pasta, rice, hand sanitizer mostly gone as well.

TP rationing has been in for the last week. Still haven't seen any. Pasta, rice, etc. rationing (2 per customer) starts Monday.

Too much unnecessary poor behaviour on display sadly.

It is kind of panicky here in Maine, too. Wal-Mart had to close at noon yesterday because of lack of products. People are out of their minds.

There is an amazing cliff in my area. I go and sit there, admiring the view. I've done it since I was a teenager, and I've actually left little items there in the cracks, kind of as tokens or mementos. There is a lot of me invested there.
