The article says they're aspiring to get an AXS deal, which AXS has already denied.
I know AXS has helped with NJPW but I feel like you have to aspire to be bigger than that: NJPW in the US worked out well because NJPW in Japan wasn't dependent on it. They need to start with bigger.
Everything is a negotiating ploy at this point, and it still seems a much safer bet for them to stay with NJPW. But starting their own thing makes so much more sense (as an idea or a threat) than joining WWE. These guys have been so publicly upset about Bullet Club membership lately, it's hard to imagine them enjoying being micromanaged by WWE for three years.
Lol i can imagine Jericho playing the crazy owner. That would be fun
If they wish for this to work, they need to do it as fast as possible. Even if it's a one-time show and then a regular tv-show later. Start up with a bang (the Elite) and then quickly build up other things.
I wonder where you'd start poaching... Lots of talent at the performance center but can they be swayed?
Hope they can get Matt Cardona (Zack Ryder) on board. Matt just posted a YouTube video to his channel using his real name, which makes me wonder if he's laying the groundwork to step away from WWE.
Matt would be a perfect fit given that his Long Island Iced Z YouTube show was essentially Being the Elite, only 7 years before its time.
Not only is he doing the bakeshop all by himself, but it'll feature cakes that he will pop out of (in disguise), and proceed to beat the shit out of the recipient.
Booker T and Chris Benoit site their feud over the TV Title as their most memorable (they changed hands with it a few times besides being in the best of 7.) So I think that BT and RVD would work, with more air from RVD than Benoit gives.
