So after hearing some positive buzz about this show after its twisty finale last year, my wife and I binged it and rather enjoyed it.
Now that its back, it took us a few weeks to catch up, but damn if this hasn't been added to the Best Show on TV list I keep running in my head.
I was surprised that they had the group figure out it was the Bad Place again so quickly in episode 1 this year, but the following montage of Eleanor (AND JASON!) figuring it out again and again was worth it. I knew that montage was coming after Michael wiped all their memories at the end of last season, I just figured it was going to come midway through this season. I also thought they'd take a little longer to play with how different everything would be. Instead, we've jumped right into this year's conflict, which is Michael hiding from Sean that his project is a failure. And of course the only way he can do that is to work with Eleanor and everyone.
The way this is going, I expect Michael's going to wind up getting mind-wiped and thrown in with everyone else on one of these iterations. (I thought it would be with Vicky in charge, but instead I think Sean's going to take Michael's place that time.) I'm also starting to wonder if Michael isn't secretly in some sort of hell himself, since his plan is so flawed. (I mean, he knows he's in the Bad Place, but what if he's there to suffer and not just to work?)
I've really enjoyed this show and I'm always just a little bit worried that they're going to run out of story ideas and this would've been better as a 20 episode limited series or something. Everything they've done is good and I don't fault the effort, but I'm not sure how anyone can keep all the balls in the air for five seasons or whatever.
In reality - I haven't seen anything from Danson I liked since 1st couple seasons of Cheers, but this is great stuff.
We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.
That the universe was formed by a fortuitous concourse of atoms, I will no more believe than that the accidental jumbling of the alphabet would fall into a most ingenious treatise of philosophy - Swift

I think some of his stuff on Curb's been great, but that might be just because he gets to play off Larry David (disclaimer: I haven't seen this season yet).
That smile at the end of season 1 was phenomenal, but I feel like they've been trying to have him recreate that too often (case in point, when

Chidi calls him out for torturing him).
(Spoilers because its from 2x5 and the thread title is 2x4)
I want to wait and binge all the episodes once the season is done, but I can't help myself and I need to watch the new episodes as soon as they are available.
Also, I don't know how I feel about the Jason/Tahani pairing. I liked him more with Janet. I'm not sure if that's a commentary on given enough iterations, everyone's going to hook up with everyone, or if based off Mindy's video, we're supposed to believe that Jason/Tanani and Eleanor/Chidi are actually soulmate pairings.
