Sucks when you have to put over someone that doesn't deserve it, doesn't it John Boy?

What a terrible take.

The first two and a half hours of this PPV were outstanding. This PPV was looking like an all-timer and then Enzo wins the purple belt that Neville has been propping up forever now with a kick to the dick. Welcome to the comedy era to 205 Live. Also what was Brock Leanar doing? Was he intentionally sandbagging? Is he just that bad now? He gave Braun nothing out there and now both come away from an incredibly hyped match looking worse for wear.

Miz and Jordan got this show rolling with a hot opener. Which was followed by an actually interesting Balor-Wyatt match that saw Finn go over Bray who is just an opening bossin a video game at this point. Then there was the insane tag match where Cesaro lost his front teeth, looked really bothered and out of sorts as he should be and then rallied to finish strong. The Bar lost, but looked like a million bucks doing it. The multi person Woman's match turned out to be the best multi person thrown together Woman's match I remember watching in sometime.

Then there was Roman vs Cena. I thought the match told a great story of how an older Cena couldn't keep Reigns down with his heaviest of shots and in the end Reigns was just too much. I'm not going to win any Roman Reigns battles around here, but the right guy won.

Thumbs up PPV, that could have been even greater if not for the last half hour.

The way Angle said Reigns will be on Miztv AND you'll be opening RAW makes me think Jordan wins the IC title in the opening match miztv main event.

I loved Roman and Cena, it had that true big match feel that's been missing from recent big matches. The match turned out to be suitably epic, though maybe not as epic as Cena's AJ/KO classics, but a great example of the 2017 version of the WWE Main Event Style. Loved how Cena spent the first half of the match figuring out that Roman hits a lot harder than he talks, and Roman taking every opportunity to rub that fact in. Then Cena starts going through the gears, but Roman matches him, and then they both hit overdrive, and the finish is basically two superheroes dropping bombs on each other until one of them can't come out of the rubble anymore. That's a great story and the execution was top-notch too.

Also a little nugget for anyone who plays WWE Champions (the mobile game): Roman Reigns in that game has a finisher called "Moment of Silence" which is a kind of a back suplex turned into an uranage. Looks pretty neat, except I'd never seen that move done in a real wrestling ring. Until yesterday. At the beginning of the match, right after Cena takes a walk, and Roman brings him back to the ring, and there it is, he hits it! And it looks good too. It's an early nearfall, and it puts Roman in control for like the next ten minutes. The commentators didn't know what the move was, so they're clearly not playing the game.

And the tag match was somehow better than all this.

The women's championship match probably had no right to be that good, but it way overdelivered - it was everything the two MitB matches on SD weren't: fast-paced, hard-hitting, and full of action. Poor Bailey, though. How the mighty have fallen.

I don't have any patience for Enzo, and the main event was straight up bad, so I zoned out for the last hour or so. But just on the basis of the first two hours, this show's an easy thumbs up.

I was flipping back and forth between this and Star Trek. I am not sure which one had the most out of step characters. Honestly, it was Star Trek. The PPV was good borderline great. I am not in love of Bayley the jobber or the WWE shoving all the women in one match when they had enough time to do a Emma/Sasha or Bayley/Emma match. The same shit happens on Smackdown. They have no idea how to book women's wrestling or care to. I have this very bad feeling WWE's obsession with the Total Divas in Alexa and Nia is going to kill this division even with Asuka coming.

I am sorta ok with the burial of Braun. He was just a big guy who threw people around. People love him, because he threw Reigns around and people hate Reigns. Speaking of Reigns, man was that match dull. Sorry, it was. There was very little drama. Reigns kicking out of the double AA was when I realized they are going to let Roman win. The John Cena glad hand thing at the end seemed really phony like HHH begging for applause after Brock killed him at Summerslam.

Finn and Miz need to move up the ladder. Enough of this small potatoes stuff, its time for them to start making their way up the ladder to the title. Yes, the now soon to be invisible title. While I am ok with Braun losing, the title needs to get off of Lesnar soon if not tonight. I understand Vince wants Lesnar/Reigns II or III or Last Jedi or whatever the fuck. Its not going to help. Even if people turn off the NFL I am not sure wrestling is where people are going to go. Yet, I am sure Vince was more than helpful to President Business to tell people to stop watching a program that has been killing him in the ratings for a long period of time. Still, the show need some new life to it. Even if the PPV was good, we still have status quo.

the "all that said, you've proved your worthiness with that great battle" post match handshake is going to be really awkward and just about as successful as when Bryan and Reigns did it years ago.

This was shooting fish in a barrel BUT I think it also kind of both resembled the Rock endorsement and the end of WM6 where Hogan stole the focus from Warrior despite losing to him.

Going to be great when the WM main is a 6 minute Roman Reigns win over Brock to boos.

Jordan's promo after his match was so bad that I thought it was 50/50 he was intentionally doing a bad promo to feed into a heel turn. This character is as dead as happy rookie babyface IC champ Rocky Maivia and I'm not sure the heel turn is going to save him. Putting a title on him is something WWE would absolutely do anyway.

Enzo winning can't kill a dead division, just show how much the other guys are filler. Tozawa's title reign got retconned out before the match, with the idea that Neville held the title since Rumble, and the idea that no one else matters. The real problem is there's no pivot back to focusing on the CWC guys here; if it doesn't improve with Enzo, they may give up entirely.

probably my favorite sign ever

haha @ when Brock and Paul raise Roman's hands at the end of Wrestlemania. who ya got after that. this company is beyond pointless since the day Rollins hit Roman with a chair. which, I wonder if all 3 are formally getting back together at TLC to play off their first match at TLC.

So what was up with the long Cena exit from the ring?

I know there are rumors that he's off to do a movie, but it came off as he's done as a regular WWE wrestler and now has entered the world of The Rock.

Even on the network after-show he was holding back tears and choking up as he talked about his career in the WWE.

Was it last year that he said the future had to go through him? The future, arguably, has done just that. Owens, Styles, Nakamura, Reigns. Maybe Vadertime's over.

Reigns beating Cena straight up is the right way to go if they can't make it a series. It's still never going to be enough, and Reigns has shown an inability to carry The Matrix, but maybe he can be the Ultra Magnus who puts over Rodimus Prime when Vince finally figures it out with someone. Or dies.

Brock/Braun isn't a disappointment to me, because I expected the same sort of nonsense we saw with Brock/Joe. Now that we've settled into a clear trajectory with Brock/Reigns (barring injury or The Rock deciding to work Mania), I don't expect you'll miss much if you tune out now. Next up, Balor gets that competitive title shot where he loses. Brock/Balor could be good, but I don't expect it to do Balor any favors in the end.

This really is like a wildfire burning through WWE right now, leaving nothing but ash in its wake. Reigns won't have many interesting title defenses when he gets the belt (Nakamura and Balor are probably up there as challengers), but they all will be sacrificed for various Vince projects by the time they get to challenge Reigns.

I will say, though, that Reigns in the Shield with Dean and Seth to prop him up is better than him running as a solo act. Of course, Reigns is still the drummer or the bassist while Dean is the lead singer and Rollins is the guitarist.

Also, this was the best pic from last night...

Apart from checking out *that* promo from a few weeks back (which I'll get into later) I've not properly followed WWE in nearly a year & a half precisely because of this. Unless you're die hard fan of Roman, WWE has been a painful slog since at least late 2014. It's pretty clear to me that they're just going to replace John Cena with Roman Reigns so what's the point in continuing to invest in the programming?

But that's not to say I in any way feel sorry for Cena or agree with fans who've suddenly decided to start riding his jock, that promo he cut a few weeks back (whilst entertaining) was a dick move. Say what you want about Reigns but he's never buried his opponent under 12 feet of excrement on the microphone. (to be fair, he hasn't really got the verbal skills to do it)

Seeing how Cena has been over the past few weeks should be a real eye opener for some fans of him. This guy has had the world handed to him since at least 2005 & when the time comes for him to finally do the honors he half asses it.

The tag title match was THE match of the night and easily one of the matches of the year. The tag divisions have had some top-notch matches this year. And Cesaro... geez. Reports are that the teeth weren't knocked out but were pushed UP into his mouth. Holy moly. And Sheamus... I still can't believe I love Sheamus now. He's great.

The womens' match was also fantastic. It was a Nia Jax spotlight and it worked. She looked fantastic. Bayley shouldn't have taken the fall, but really she shouldn't have been randomly thrown into the match.

You can't kill what is already dead, but the cruiserweight vision is pretty close to death if it isn't and Enzo being champ does about the same as Hornswoggle did for it before (though Enzo probably sells more merch). Granted, I don't think any of the cruiserweights HAVE any merch (a quick search shows that Neville has a plaque and an outdated t-shirt and he's the only one with anything outside of Enzo).

I haven't watched Cena-Roman yet. That was my "come back later" match.

The main event was disappointed. I just wanted to see Braun smack stuff. Throw Brock through an announce table. Be speared through a barricade. Something. Instead the monster goes down to one F5.

Miz's aside about finding out if Roman and his old friends might be having problems seemed like a pretty good tell about them doing something with the Shield next.

The cruiserweights are only dead on RAW, a show that has had almost no connection to them since day one. 205 Live is absolutely the best show that no one watches, and it's full of great characters having fun feuds where most of the guys matter. Not Lince Dorado, but most of the guys. Frankly, I kind of hope that they just move the cruisers off RAW completely, and just let them keep making great wrestling television on 205.

"Had the world handed to him" is a funny way of saying he worked his ass off, got & stayed over, drew, made the company tons of money, delivered in big match after big match, tirelessly did press & promotional stuff for the company, granted the most Make-A-Wishes by any individual, and took it upon himself to learn Mandarin in anticipation of the company expanding into China. But, yeah, he p. much just sat around and had everything handed to him without having to put in the work.

OK, much respect for Cesaro, but how the hell do you knock your teeth out on a monkey flip? You can't blame that one on the other guy. Cesaro looked like he just jumped face first into the metal post as hard as he could & then seemed surprised that it knocked his teeth out.

Well as far as I'm concerned, they both suck equally, but there you go.

In this shit stained passing-of-the-torch, there really are no winners, we go from one undeserving handpicked corporate champion to another, what a wonderful time to be a fan of WWE.

I can't say I've ever been happier that I don't watch this miserable programme anymore.

Undeserved? Come on and Cena was far from handpicked like a Roman was, Cena was really a midcard guy at best stuck in a feud with Rikishi and coming out on the losing end more times than not and got himself over once he started rapping. Cena was not the hand picked guy until Brock left and Orion bombed terribly as a babyface. I would say Cena opened his own door and wasn't handed anything.
