Didn't watch the whole thing, but the big news out of it is that VKM returns to Smackdown next week! This in response to Shane attacking Kevin Owens, who then promised to sue the WWE and every single McMahon until he owns the company. Assault by a corporate partner, ya see.

Other notables that I can recall from two days later:

Dolph Ziggler mimicked/mocked Cena, Randy Savage, and Naomi in his return to the ring ... then didn't return to the ring.

Nakamura pinned Orton CLEAN to get the next title shot.

Ellsworth and Carmella broke up, then reunited backstage in some weird promo where Carmella said things were gonna go HER way now, kissed him, then slapped him.

So, yeah. What else ya got? Any thoughts on what Vince will have to say next week?

Vince to sack or suspend Shane so he can become a wrestler to take on Owens in HIAC? Owens did well and didn't mock Shane when he stopped for what seemed like ages - Cena would have loved that and gone on for a long time! Vince and Owens in the same ring with a mic would be something that Kevin would have dreamed of and will be wanting to look great in. And I think Vince will let him. To a degree at least!

Nakamura had to win that match as nobody wanted to see another Orton match for the title, even in HIAC. Randy seemed keen to have a good match which was good. Hopefully Nakamura will win as the Mahal experiment has to be seen as a failure, but my money is on Jinder to win. Not sure who will eventually beat him, but they love the Indian market. Have you ever looked on the WWE Facebook page? Talk about a mix of opinions. Some people would think it is a mix of 9 year olds and adults, but thats not the way it is.

Ziggler must be counting the days until his contract runs out - no idea how long that is though but he must want out! It was a strange mix of choices made to mimic/mock. I wasn't expecting Savage as the second choice and didn't work for me. The Naomi one was better but seemed strange. Especially with nothing at the end of it all. I was expecting Rock or Austin as Michales would have been a bit too close to the truth.

Ellsworth and Carmella had about a months worth of angle progression in 2 hours and still not sure where it is leading. Nowhere good is my guess!

Vince next week should create a bit of interest, although he will be pissed if it doesn't!

And my favourite bit was Aiden English carrying on singing when Sami wanted to attack him after the match! Surely there is babyface potential with him!

Nous ne nous pouvons pas sortir.
Dolph not doing the Spirit Squad Entrance, complete with the guys they can get back and trampoline, is a tremendous waste of an opportunity.

I wouldn't say it's a failure - when was the last real noteworthy champ who got any attention at all outside of WWE core market? And I think people underestimate how over Jinder is as a face not just in India, but in basically all of not-America. To be fair, this is largely due to how over America is as a heel at the moment, but Jinder is really taking that moment & working with it. His in-ring stuff is solid enough to get by, and his look, promos, and character are really hitting their stride (more PPV costume changes needed though!).

I really, really wish the E were hitting Canada soon - my guess is Jinder would be treated as a massive face, basically Bret Hart in 97-style. Canadian (& other non-American) readers, am I reading this correctly?

I'm really into Jinder now.

He's a good mix of goofy evil foreigner yet comes off badass with his entrance to be taken seriously, too.

Smackdown was in Canada not too long back, and the main was Jinder getting beat by Orton. The crowd did not care for the finish, and considering the still-surprisingly strong face reaction Randy gets in most markets, I think you may be correct.

I also agree that Jinder's done very well with his opportunity, but I think that it's probably about run its course at this point. I'd like to see somebody else move into that champion position, if for no other reason than to give us some fresh matchups.

Meh. They just did that a few months back against Dolph, so it's too soon to do it again IMHO.

That was against face Dolph, and more importantly, sans trampoline.

Damn, that would be awesome! Turn Lance heel and team him with Matt Hardy. Yes! This makes sense for two reasons: 1) Lance is a proven tag team worker.
