Hey, I thought it was a great ending to a great show. The move of the announce booth grew on me, and it did finally look like they have direction. 'Specially with Brock jumping... see what a little competitiveness can do?
As for Brock, maybe they thought he was played out on Raw. He's kicked as much ass there as he can for the time being, really.

I think they should run Lesnar vs Angle for the #1 Contender. Undertaker "goes over" to Smackdown! as a ticket buyer or something (just as long as it DOES NOT CHEAPEN THE SPLIT), interferes illegally and costs Brock the match. Brock gets mad, and goes after Undertaker. Sets up Angle vs Rock at Summerslam. So we have at The Summerslam;
Undertaker vs Lesnar (Smackdown! vs RAW), winner gets number one spot.
Rock vs Angle for the title.
At least *I* think it could work.

I did stay awake for the beginning when I noticed someone Ringside with a "RAW IS NITRO" sign in the front row when Eric came out. Maybe that is why I went to sleep during this show tonight?
OK, they aren't full-time tag teams, but they've probably tagged more regularly than anyone on Smackdown in recent weeks, besides Billy and Chuck. Are there any full-time tag-teams besides Billy and Chuck?
And this situation is in flux. Who knows, the WWE Tag Team Champs could become property of RAW before long.
Edit: Oops! I didn't wait to be called on! *Raises hand*

And as for the Island Boyz, notice how JR referred to the tag titles at the top of the show.. the Undisputed Tag Team Titles.. like he was trying to give them the same stature as the Undisputed Title.. they'll be floating/on RAW by next week.

This morning, Mick Foley had enough, ran into the writer's room at WWE HQ, bodyslammed Gerwitz in the wastebasket, and decided to take over the writing leadership. He make Eric feel right and home and wrote his latest masterpiece, that is, tonight's Show.
All matches, except for the D-Lo--Stasiak abortion ended clean. The matches were a bit short for King's Road, so let's call this booking Queens Blvd.
Damn missed the RVD-Hardy match. They were jerking the curtain.
Good set ups by Bischoff, making each match mean something. Rhyno!! good to see him if only in cameo.
Molly!! Molly!! Molly!! With noble Regal against the evil table pair Trish and Bubba. Bubba is fighting practically with one arm. Bubba spanked Molly, boo. Regal, after gently throwing Trish around--knee to the mid-section! Yay! After a good stretch between the women, the guys get back in. Hmm, Molly did more damage to Regal than Bubba did. No, not the tables!! For some reason, Bubba thought Molly was a table and chased her, while Regal took full advantage for the win. Whew!
Nowinski does his promo, then Sandman, I mean UT came in and yanked him out!!
Rock's promo was solid, complimentting UT and Angle. Guerrero's was real bizarre. Then no breaks, Brock comes out! Rock is laughing cause Brock has little heat. Damn Brock has gotta move like Kurt Angle or he will have no heat. Ate Tommy's Cane, made a doghouse just by spitting it out. Beat Tommy too. Here comes Sandman whipping Brock with his Cane!!! UT does a softshoe afterwards.
Big Show squashes Spike, then Bubba omes in. Big Show chokeslams Bubba into Spike through a table, shouting "That's for spamking Molly's butt!!" Either that or "ARRARRAARRRAUGH!!" Bischoff is pointing at BS a little too much.
Booker King!!! Only in America!! Too bad he hvery good matchad to job to the Wolverine. A very good match.
DX--Oh no!! HHH pedigrees HBK!! Yay!
Rock vs. Guerrero--great match. Guerrero makes sure that the Rock looks good as a champ. Perfect reversal of Rock Bottom!!! But the People's Elbow proved to be too damaging to Guerrero.
Brock to Smackdown?? Cool, maybe he'll take on Angle and show off what he can really do.
Very good show, a few more like that in addition to avoiding Arthur Anderson, and the WWE will be back in business.
(edited by deadbeater on 23.7.02 0035) "Business has just picked up" says JR. Then right on cue, Molly enters the arena! Never was JR any better in introducing someone. --Raw 7/15
I think Brock will switch around shows to build the Rock vs Brock match at summerslam, seeing the 2 twice a week makes the fans get into the feud more.

Too bad there are no titles for them to win.
EDIT: Oh, didn't hear the undisputed thing. I always miss the first half hour or so of Raw. Next time, I promise to read everything before I post.

*raises hand and does the "ooh ooh" sound to get the teacher's attention* yeah, I [heart] Rhyno.
This Raw kicked major booty. Though the highlight had to be the mental meltdown of Eddie when discussing his kids. He looked and sounded totally off his rocker, which is a GOOD thing.
Benoit and Eric's interaction was priceless with the big pic of Bisch in the background. Though the floating Eric head in the opening creeped me out to no end. As did the return of the Nitro announce look, Easy-E and all. I kept waiting for Silver King to appear, or maybe a Villano.
Also of note, the fact that Regal perhaps became the first person not happy to have Trish's head near his nuts. The Whazzup drop looked mighty painful for him, as Trish seemed to drive her noggin square into his sensitive bits.
After being frightened by the nostalgia pop for DX, I have to give the Roid Case with the big Schnozz his due. Well executed heel (I think heel anyways, though when did Michaels become a face again, or did he ever stop? Shades of gray hurt my head) turn for him, and hopefully this leads to the very long in coming HHH/Michaels match.
I do have to say I don't quite get the point of the stipulation about a title shot being added to the Eddie match if you're just going to have him lose. Had they put Eddie over clean tonight, and then had him lose a close one next week to Rock it would have done wonders for his perception with the fans. Still though very good angle and match, and hopefully we'll see some follow up.
Next week Benoit/RVD....yeah, I'll be watching.
You never know when you'll meet that special someone... the someone that's mysteriously blind to your flaws. or, you know, stupid enough not to realize that yes, you really are that cynical.
Tonight was a great show, period. The only thing that didn't work for me was the opening interview, but that's probably because Shawn Michaels somehow became incredibly boring in this particular return to the spotlight. I've always loved him, but the magic's gone, kids.
RVD/Jeff - Didn't expect it that early, but hey, I'm not complaining. Not the best ladder match I've ever seen, but I could've gotten a Bradshaw match, so thumbs up! RVD looked strong, too. Much as I dig Jeff, RVD's way above him, and should be treated as such short of squashing the little freak.
Mixed Tag - I liked the continuity in the girls' choice of tag partners (remembering plotlines from over a month ago! Wow!), and Regal's sneer as he stretched and beat on Trish was priceless.
UT/Nowinski was harmless for what it was, and it solidified UT as a full-blown face.
Rock - Eddy was pure gold, the best interview/promo segment on RAW in forever. I about died every time Rock interrupted Eddy with "Arriba arriba" or whatever the hell he was saying. And Eddy acknowledged the power of the mullet! Rule! Admittedly, the beating his children thing was kind of creepy, but it gave Eddy an edge as a psychotic heel.
Big Show/Spike - Disturbingly fun.
D'lo/Stasiak - I know I shouldn't laugh, but I cracked up when Bischoff yelled at Stasiak about the armbar "What the hell is that?!" The Island Boys looked suitably devestating, although the point of yet another frog splash on the show is a bit hard to understand. That was a wicked Samoan drop, though.
Booker/Benoit - Very, very good match. The rolling germans had me cheering, especially the fourth with the bridge. Decent bit of psychology, and Booker tapped to the Crossface, actually putting it over as a finisher rather than stretching for the ropes and making the break like everyone else seems to have done for a while now. Good stuff.
DX RIP - I know that's not the proper way to take a Pedigree bump, but Shawn's way looked like it hurt MORE than the normal style on the replay. *SPLAT* I don't know if you get a match out of this, but Heel HHH makes me happy camper.
Main Event - Match of the night, easily, in my eyes. Rock went over, but made Eddy look great in doing so, selling like a champ. Eddy was drawing INSANE heel heat, and all was right with the world. I was hoping he'd win and get the rematch, but ya can't have everything, eh?
Bischoff - Much as it might call Smark Lightning down on my head, I'm really enjoying Bischoff. A lot. He's a great heel and his performance really gave a theme and a purpose to the segments tonight.
Oh, and one final thing:

I was reading this post at about the same time that RAW cut to the audience and I saw this typical WWE fan with a wifebeater T-shirt, buzzcut, and a bottle of Bud Light in each hand saying "Wooooooo!" to the ring.
