An entertaining, but thumbs in the middle show, I thought.

Speaking of thumbs, Bray Wyatt actually won a match! Seth looked like a chump in the process, losing to the ole thumb to the eye, but Bray won! On a PPV!

Squash City, Population: Enzo. I think in that 5-minute match, Enzo got literally no offense. The highlight for me was when Cass was entering, and they did a shot of him with the titantron in the back reading "BIG ASS." I'm not sure why Enzo cuts these promos - I think we're supposed to get behind him as the guy who talks a big game and the talking is entertaining enough that we don't necessarily care that he loses all the time. To me, that just sounds like a slightly less unhinged version of Bray, but to each their own.

First off, the Iron Man match should be renamed the Iron Team match, that bit should've been obvious. There's four people there! The start of that match was really clever, and the last five minutes were very hot, but the middle just dragged on and on. For all his fun character work, Matt's offense is the drizzling shits, and Sheasaro can probably have a better Iron Team match with literally any other team on the roster (especially now that Golden Truth has disbanded). I'm afraid that the ending leaves enough room for this feud to go onto some gimmick match at SS, and really, I'm just tired of seeing the four of them go at each other.

They whipped out the CO finish for Alexa and Sasha - but they should've just done the gross-out elbow thing for the finish! Like that was a gag you were going to get to use once, and you used it for a throwaway moment on a meaningless PPV. Missed opportunity. Match was okay, and I think both of them did a decent job of trying to incorporate the rumors of real backstage heat between them into the match. The post-match spot was probably better than anything the actual match had to offer, though.

Miz and Deano had a match. They've had a million others this year. This one was the same.

People are saying that the aftermath of Roman and Braun represents a double turn, but I'm not convinced. I think at this point Braun and Roman are beyond alignments, and you can react to them in whatever way you want, as long as you're reacting. To me, they're both horrible human beings who have attempted to murder each other on live TV, and the company seems to be saying to the audience, "here's a pair of monsters, you can pick which one you want to support." It IS interesting that commentary didn't try to defend Reigns' attempted murder of Braun, and Kurt Angle did look quite shocked, so maybe there is more of an acknowledgement that Roman's actions are heelish than there has been in the past. Oh, and they had an actual ambulance match. It wasn't bad. Probably falls in the Perfectly Acceptable Wrestling category.

Heath Slater and Curt Hawkins made it to the PPV. Finn Balor didn't. The crowd wasn't really into this fact.

Joe and Brock was a fun collision of bulls! If Brock is willing to wrestle only sub-10-minute matches now then this was about as good as a six-minute sprint as you're likely to get. Really intense, Joe came out looking like a star and had the crowd rocking. I really hope he doesn't get shuffled right out of the picture, he deserves at least another shot at Brock, even if it comes in a multi-man match.

Great Meh of Fire. Nothing happened. Nothing really changed after this event other than Joe is less of a threat than he was before. Which is the worst outcome for this. Reigns/Braun has gotten so boring that I could care less who wins. Honestly, does anyone care about any of these feuds? Miz/Dean is overplayed, they refuse to let anyone go over Neville to the point Aries just walked out and I am not even sure what they are doing with the women's division with Alexa all 75lbs of her being champ. What other tag team is going to face Cesaro and Sheamus after this feud? Nothing is going on here.

My greatest fear with the cheap PPVs is they are going to feel and be cheap unless its a big four. That is what is happening here. Brock being champ has to end soon. Raw is three hours long and their champ is barely there. Its moronic. I am starting to think Brock maybe one of the laziest wrestlers in this era. No real change to his offense. Just suplex, suplex, suplex, another suplex, possible F-5, suplex, another suplex, F-5 that connects for the win or rinse repeat til the F-5 wins the bloody thing.

How can you hear, "You might be 7-foot tall, but that's all you are. You're always gonna be in my shadow, because I'm larger than life!" and not think that's one of the greatest promo lines you've ever heard? If Enzo was a foot taller, he'd already be a three time world champ.

As for the show itself, I mostly liked it, I guess. Bray and Rollins had no steam going in, but delivered a solid match with a finish that I found legitimately surprising. Enzo, I don't know where he goes from here. He needed something big last night, and he didn't get it. The Iron Man took a while to really do anything, and was still pretty rough in spots, but the last 7 or so minutes of the match was pretty great. I liked the women's match and didn't mind the finish there, and the IC title match was fine as long as Ambrose and Miz don't ever fight each other again.

As for the top two matches, I could have done without the staged chicanery in Reigns/Braun. If you want to do the callback like that, it should have been on RAW. Liked Braun waving off help, though. And for anyone who thinks this is some kind of double-turn, remember there's a near 20-year precedent that attempted vehicular manslaughter is the most face-est move you can make. Just look at Rock and Austin. Especially Austin.

And the main event. I've got one thing to say: Fuck Brock Lesnar. I hate that guy. Five minutes, he does almost nothing, and Joe's got to give him gentlest, lightest Kokina Clutch he can muster. He won't even take the hold properly. Then he no-sells it and hits his finish, and it's a big payday for Brock, see him again in a couple months. I want to see the data analytics on this guy, because I can't believe he's adding anything to the shows, let alone whatever they're actually paying him. Get this motherfucker off my TV.

Joe looked pretty good, though, and I've never been this into him before, so it's probably a net win for Joe. Main event, got in a lot of offense, looked tough. At this point, Joe's kind of the default top guy on RAW.

I read somewhere that she'd actually used that bit once before...so it wasn't that brand new. But Cole & co totally oversold that whole thing.

I don't understand all the Roman Reigns hot takes that are ablaze again. I also don't know why anyone would have a problem with Brock vs Joe. Samoa Joe pretty much handled Brock who was lucky to hit an F5 and retain his title.

Yeah, Alexa did the double-jointed elbow in a match with Becky Lynch. It wasn't even to trick Becky and the ref it was just to sell the Dis-Arm-her so I guess in kayfabe Sasha and the ref were supposed to believe that she was really injured because she's had that happen before? But it was said online afterwards that Bliss is double jointed and so anybody who has seen that probably figured it was a fake out, then again when are injury fake outs not obvious to the viewer? Faces almost always have to be stupid to fall for that.

Listen everyone, I cannot stress how much I hated Main Roster Enzo. The commercials were terrible. The promos were juvenile. Him trying to pick up women was stupid.

I also cannot stress how much I'm invested in his character now due to the promos since the break up, especially after last night's. ESPECIALLY after that line. I'm all-in on this Enzo. I reserve the right to backtrack on this if he reverts to previous Main Roster Enzo.

As for everything else, Joe TRUCKED Lesnar and looked like a bad ass. Maybe they'd be smart and do a Fatal Four Way at Summerslam.

Shocked to see Bray win.
Which is sad in itself, that you don't even expect one of their biggest heels to ever win on ppv.

Enzo and Cass. Meh..I hope it helps Cass. But I love Enzo's promo's here. Sure, he rambles but in between are signs that he cares about all this. His expressions are great.

Alexa-Sasha was a nice match. Didn't like the finish even though it makes sense for Alexa to do this.

Miz-Ambrose was just there. Nothing spectacular. Please move on.

I really enjoyed the Iron Men match. And I like how Cesaro & Sheamus used some new tricks to win. Not even really heinous heel tricks but just very smart thinking.

I also really enjoyed the Ambulance match. I did joke while watching that someone should win by sidestepping a charge and..it happened. Post match stuff was over the top but I enjoyed most of it.
And fuck, I loved that Slater & Hawkins came out, not ready obviously just to distract the crowd from what's happening in the back.

Lesnar-Joe was..I dunno. Joe looked like an animal and Brock was on the defense and it looked great. I didn't expect JOe to win but it felt like we could be in for a fight aaaaaanddd... it's over. Boooo.
And with the promise of RR to go for the winner I fear for the continuation of the feud. Joe's glare at the end of the show said differently but yeah, this is WWE and they don't tell proper stories these days.

An ok show, better than the name. But definitely not on fire.

I would have also accepted Great Balls of Meh.

I am so done with Brock Lesnar. He doesn't give even half a shit about anything and it really shows. During the PPV Micheal Cole called him "a fighting champion," and I nearly choked on my drink.

I can only assume we're counting him wrestling "little Brock" now.

Gee all those suplexes must sting!

The elbow with Becky was to trick Becky and the ref. While she was showing off the 'broken' arm to the referee and an aghast Becky, La Luchadora took advantage of the opportunity to attack Becky from behind, at which point Alexa popped her arm back into place and went for the win.
