Alright, so on RAW we have Braun trucking through everyone and taking the reigns (pun intended) as Boss Hoss. Meanwhile on the blue side, we have JINDER winning a sixpack challenge to get a shot at the title.

Two things!

1) The US title is getting some serious star attention, with AJ vs Owens (or Jericho). That angle closed the show, while the WWE title angle took place in the middle of the show.

2) Jinder winning was out of left field and totally unexpected. Especially after he accidentally gave Finn a concussion the other week.

I've decided that I like Jinder winning though. Oh sure he won't beat Orton, but it truly is unpredictable.

I agree. While I still don't actually like Jinder, he's clearly been working his ass off, both on his physique (obviously), but also on his ringwork. I respect that, and I like that the company is actually rewarding him with a little bit of a spotlight.

Randy Orton is a throw away champion who won the title in the worst WrestleMania match of the night, and I've convinced myself he only got this reign for Brock cracking his head open. I'm not a Jinder guy, but if Jinder is going to win a championship there's no one I'd like to see him beat more than Randy Orton. My only question is how badly will Orton mail in a PPV match vs Jinder in the middle of the card?

American Alpha has really stalled. I would have put them on Raw as Angle henchmen.

Are they setting up a Jinder-Gronk match at the next SmackDown PPV?

Responding to people liking Smackdown more than Raw by sending Jinder Mahal over to Smackdown and immediately putting him into a World Heavyweight Title program to headline Smackdown's next brand-exclusive PPV while Raw's "brand-exclusive" PPV gets matches featuring both of Smackdown's singles champions: that's trolling.

Having Jinder Mahal win a match to become the #1 contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and then cutting immediately to the part of Randy Orton's entrance where the phrase "IN MY VEINS" is projected on a gigantic screen: that's expert trolling.

Haha - yeah my wife & I caught that too. Thanks to his current "diet," I find the guy gross to even look at nowadays plus he's always been so generic in the ring...ugh...

But I guess the shaken up SD! roster is low on heels right now, when the face side is filled with: AJ, Randy, Sami, Nakamura, Harper, Ty and...Mojo?

Someone commented on WWE's YouTube video of the Six-Pack Challenge that "This is what happens when you simulate Universe Mode in WWE 2K17." Ayup.

Jinder Mahal, really? While they force Drew McIntyre to spend a year down in NXT despite being a former Intercontinental, Tag Team, and TNA World Heavyweight Champion?

Excuse me, but Drew McIntyre told us that he could have gone anywhere he wanted, and he CHOSE to go to NXT. So I think you owe someone an apology.

The problem is that Randy is a pretty dead face right now and he needs to be in a program where he gets cheered. Jinder, along with his flunkies, will at least give clear face/heel lines in this program. If you bring up a guy like Drew, you are going to get 50/50 reactions and that won't help anyone. As much as people love The Miz or Owens, no one REALLY hates them or wants them to lose. It's good to have a heel to be, you know, booed.

Kevin Kelly: "Mr. Austin, would you like to comment on Wade Keller's Take that endorsing the XFL hurts your anti-authority character?"

Steve Austin: "Oh shit, he actually said that? I thought the boys in the back were ribbing me!"

Kelly: "No, he really said that. Did they tell you the part about you sitting in the stands, looking all skeptical?"

Austin: "AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah... oh man that was too much."

Randy Orton is the sort of Champion that you don't want to see on TV, but if you are in the arena he is someone that you know and want to see the RKO out of nowhere. The downside is most people see him on TV so aren't that interested apart from the 1 move that may or may not come. If you were coming up with a comedy card that no-one would want to see then Orton v Mahal is a fantastic choice. I really hope that Smackdown doesn't turn in to the piss take show that has a lot of potential but 'they' don't want to succeed to prove a point.

For a real wrestling fan, having a card with Owens, Nakamura and Styles is a dream come true. Corbin is being groomed perfectly at the moment, even if he isn't in their league. Ziggler could have a great match with them. Who can have a great match with Orton? His 'thank you for having the crap kicked out of you' title run needs to end.

Alpha and Angle was there and so obvious, which I assume is why it didn't happen. So much potential there. Usos can be very good with the right opponents, but I don't want them as champions with no reason. Charlotte coming across is fine with me and can work well, but Naomi needs to lose the title. If she wasn't a Uso then she wouldn't be where she is.

Where are Maria and Bennett going to end up? Smackdown makes sense, but the fact I put Maria first is probably a bad sign. Give Drew the Owens treatment and get him up quickly.

Shelton Benjamin is supposed to be close to a return, no? Perhaps American Alpha can be his muscle.

More than Jinder winning the match, the post-match promo where he's a heel because he's diverse was a little too close to Muhammad Hassan for my tastes.

More power to Jinder, who's been putting in hard work, but can we find another character for him?

Twice now Jinder has been on Talking Smack and has carried himself really well in an interview. Just seeing him on Talking Smack has got me interested in his character when I previously have never liked him at all.

He did quite a good job of being an extreme bad ass and someone you should be very afraid of.

Just let him be himself and completely do away with the middle eastern character stuff.

I don't know Jinder getting a title shot is like skipping a month in one of the WWE universe mode and you have a title match between Brock Lesnar and R Truth

The whole thing reminds me of Sandow getting a run with the briefcase. Or Hradcore Holly getting a title shot around the Royal Rumble.

This is probably my favorite part of the whole thing. Primo and Epico was a more egregious act than Jinder, they're all fine wrestlers but man you can't start them off with a win against The Ascension?

It's something different so troll away.

Meltzer has speculated that Rusev was actually supposed to be getting the title shot but hurt his shoulder.

The most logical explanation would seem to be that Edge is being punished for his little "steroids" comment during the PPV ... not exactly the best time to be making one of those types of jokes.
