Hey, remember when everyone was excited by the RAW when Sasha Banks and Kevin Owens won and how things would be different now?

Well, RAW is now about a clipboard, the champion just got pinned in a handicap match and the most over person in a Sasha/Charlotte segment was Mick Foley.

But hey, at least Stephanie is still booked strong.

So yeah. RAW sucked.

Kevin Kelly: "Mr. Austin, would you like to comment on Wade Keller's Take that endorsing the XFL hurts your anti-authority character?"

Steve Austin: "Oh shit, he actually said that? I thought the boys in the back were ribbing me!"

Kelly: "No, he really said that. Did they tell you the part about you sitting in the stands, looking all skeptical?"

Austin: "AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah... oh man that was too much."

Brock doesn't equal ratings is probably the biggest take away. Foley had a great illogical promo. He was proud the women were in the cell and maybe main eventing. Now, not so much? Owens is being outshined by Jericho and his list. The IWC is getting everything they wanted from the WWE and its boring.

I can't believe they wouldn't have seen that coming. Friggen Curtis Axl was getting hometown pops they had to know Brock was going to get them. They didn't even try to sour the crowd by announcing him as now living in Saskatchewan or anything.

Considering what they pay Brock, I'd be mad too. Of course, it doesn't help that Brock on RAW might as well be a cardboard cut-out of Brock for all he actually does, and Brock at a PPV might as well just be footage of any of his last 5 matches, because they are literally the same match again and again. We're done with Brock, right? They can send his ass home?

Also, Rusev's promo was pure babyface and Reigns' was total heel, right? Are they finally answering my prayers to do a double turn? I mean, I know they're not, but watch those again and tell me that at least Reigns and Rusev don't know what's going on.

Using so many of Brock's appearances to stand silently in the ring next to Heyman would be the most unbelievable expenditure of resources imaginable if they hadn't also used one of Brock's appearances to put over the mostly-retired son-in-law of the owner at a WrestleMania or used another one of Brock's appearances to give the heat he got for beating the even more mostly-retired Undertaker at WrestleMania to the somehow even more mostly-retired Undertaker.

It is pretty amazing, though, that they're screwing up Brock/Goldberg the same way they did last time but coming from the opposite angle (last time, both were leaving and the crowd hated both killing the match, this time, both are either leaving or winding down and the crowd likes both killing the build). I'd say maybe Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg is a Cursed Match, but that absolves the Vince McMahons of 2004 and 2016 too much.

Can we talk about the important thing on this show, though?

RYAN WARD SIGHTING! RYAN WARD SIGHTING! RYAN WARD SIGHTING!

The Mysterious Ryan Ward showed up in a backstage segment with Jericho, which is obviously a response to the recent talk of his role in the company on this board. So, what does it mean? Possibilities:

1) The Mysterious Ryan Ward is being brought over from Smackdown (the good show!) to Raw (the terrible show!) to continue the Savior of the Company narrative.

2) They got wind of the Ryan Ward: Savior of the Company narrative and put him on camera on Raw to reveal to us that he's equally culpable for Raw.

3) They got wind of the Ryan Ward: Savior of the Company narrative and put him on camera on Raw to make us believe he's equally culpable for Raw to kill the Ryan Ward: Savior of the Company narrative.

4) Jericho put Ward in the segment because he's been working with Jericho all this time on Jericho's segments, which have been the only good thing on Raw, which means Ryan Ward is the Super Double Savior of the Company.

5) Ryan Ward is and has always been the higher power behind Jericho and his SAVE_US.Y2J movement and was, therefore, also most likely the secret force behind The Nexus, and we are about to finally see the reveal of The Bigger Picture.

So basically Raw was this:

- The best part of the last month of shows (Jericho's list) was taken hostage

- Brock's big appearance was a big giant mess

- Sasha and Charlotte (sorry in advance) cutting the same promos on each other that they've cut since feuding one on one

- One of the most over NXT talents to be called up was in a brutal arm wrestling segment which was completely dumped on by the crowd.

- Seth continuing to play the scorned victim, criticizing Owens and the Authority of getting the same treatment he received as champ. I'm not sure why this makes him a face, but he's going to continue beating that dead horse into the ground.

I'm sure Raw will end up dominating the Survivor Series matches between the brands, but SD absolutely deserves to win all 3 just based on how much better of a show it's been.

To be fair, the crowd was brutal. Any time Curtis Axel is your biggest pop, the crowd is brutal. Still, WWE 2K17 makes me pander to specific crowds in confusing ways, I'm sure Vince McMahon can. I mean, it would have been another thing if the crowd was full on crazy go nuts for Brock and he looked like a pure babyface/cool heel, but for the most part the crowd just wanted to cheer Brock their way.

Though I'm pretty sure following the segment, Paul Heyman told Vince he would've gotten the point home if he wasn't cut short.

Actually, he had a match against Hurricane that was on Heat tonight. And he's actually been stuck on Heat (thankfully) quite a few times since. And he hasn't improved. Too bad, so sad, DEAL.
