1. Raw Tag Team Championship Match: The New Day (c) defeated The Club.
2. Cruiserweight Championship Match: T.J. Perkins (c) defeated The Brian Kendrick.
3. Match 7 in a Best of 7 Series: Cesaro vs. Sheamus was a no-contest.
4. Chris Jericho defeated Sami Zayn.
5. Triple Threat for the Raw Women’s Championship: Charlotte (c) defeated Bayley and Sasha Banks.
6. United States Championship Match: Roman Reigns defeated Rusev (c).
7. Universal Championship Match: Kevin Owens (c) defeated Seth Rollins.
I'm telling you, that dive Cesaro did looked groooooooossssss. I thought for sure he broke his neck, or came dang close to it. Although I'd have to say I enjoyed the match, including a 619 by Cesaro.
Also, LOVE LOVE TJ Perkins theme music. Love it.
Overall, a decent card. Nothing jumped out and was amazing IMHO, but nothing offensive.

I really have no idea why I/anybody invested so much time watching this show if all these matches are just gonna happen again at Hell in the Cell.
Network specials are the new Raw? Or the network specials are needed to drive ratings on Raw. The economics of the network model has to have driven changes to how storylines are written.
I live in Japan and now that there are so many network specials and all the good parts of Raw/Smackdown end up on YouTube, I don't mind missing them both. Not sure how anyone not in junior high school could, even if it was possible, watch all 5 hours of Raw/Smackdown and then 2 network specials.
5. Triple Threat for the Raw Women’s Championship: Charlotte (c) defeated Bayley and Sasha Banks.
Seriously, ref, you can send Dana to the back at any time.
Hehe, I was actually thinking the opposite here. If a triple threat match is no DQ, then why isn't Dana Brooke just attacking Sasha and Bayley the entire match? (and then yeah, the ref could kick her out at that point)

I guess there is some truth to that but they didn't feel the need to book the Smackdown PPV like this. Clean win for Styles, clean win for Becky, clean win for Rhyno/Slater. The only interference was Maryse and that was really well done and made sense. That makes me believe that these bad booking decisions on Raw have nothing to do with Raw ratings/Network specials and has more to do with somebody on the Raw creative team being bad at their job and somebody on the Smackdown creative team being really smart.
Good yet boring show. Why does SmackDown make a three hour show more entertaining with a smaller roster than Raw can with this loaded roster?
I enjoyed the womens match the most, though the ending seemed telegraphed especially knowing Dana was there to interfere at all time. Let me guess, we do this again next month with Dana barred from ringside.
TJ might have gotten a small reaction when he came out at least if, you know, you had introduced him to your audience on Monday.
Sheamus-Cesaro is never going to end. Never. Match 98 will be at WrestleMania on the eight hour preshow, sponsored by Mountain Dew Kickstart.
I enjoyed Cesaro/Sheamus more than I thought would be possible, so of course it gets the shittiest finish possible. The crowd was screaming for Sheamus to throw off the refs and rush back to the ring to finish the match, but instead they just let the "final" match of seven - no, I'm sorry, of nine - between these guys peter out to a non-finish. I feel like they're going to wind up putting these guys into a Wacky Tag Team That Doesn't Get Along because they've knifed through every other possible contender for the New Day and now they don't know what else to do.

I'd need a handful of Mountain Dew Kickstarts to make it through a 12-hour WrestleMania.

Man that killed my prediction of what they would do with Cesaro. I guess that would be too in dept of an idea for the WWe. Cesaro doesn't want to be on RAW on draft night. Bryan and Miz has their issue of the IC title on talking smack. Cesaro gets into a match series to challenge for a title of his choosing. The loop hole to jump to SmackDown! the show he wants to be on. The reason he chooses the IC over the WWe is too defend Bryan's honor as friends/competitor respect. He has to win the IC in his only shot or he gets sent back to RAW.
That Sheamus/Cesaro match - minus the terrifying head drop on the floor by Cesaro and the damn finish - was fantastic and everything you'd want out of a match from those two.
Imagine, instead of a weirdly-paced, motive-less and unearned Best of Seven series (that actually ran over nine matches and had no finish), this was just match one, but was for actual stakes (like a clear shot at AJ Styles' WWE World Heavyweight Championship), a prize that would push these two to go all out like that. Imagine that awesome brawl not coming after six other eh matches, but still having the no-finish ending, which would leave the crowd not mad but wanting more and building to a Sheamus/Cesaro "there must be a winner" #1 contender match at Hell In a Cell.
(Overall booking/road agent thought: please put a limit on the tope? You don't have to outright ban it, piledriver-style, but I've seen the best workers of this generation nearly kill themselves with topes in the last few years. Bring back the baseball slide or something and save the tope for when you really need it.)
In-ring stuff was good to great (except the main event, which I couldn't get into). The writing ruined it all.
Literally nothing of note happened on the "First-Ever Raw Exclusive PPV!" which is the opposite approach SD took with the crowning of three new champions to kick off their PPVs.
Pretty mindless show. No one's fault in the ring. The main event was overbooked mess with absolutely zero plot development because they have to hold off HHH telling us what's happening until football season is over.
Someone said it best to me yesterday, Smackdown knows how to use their talent even if its limited. That was on display last night. Reigns as US Champ is just gross.
Originally posted by wannaberockstarThe New Days schtick was tiresome a year ago. I have no idea why they continue to be put over everybody and everyone.
Merchandising is a large part of it, I'd imagine. They've been outpacing most everybody regularly. Until that gravy train slows, I don't see anything changing.
There hasn't really been an effort to build up any competition for them, though. Who else is credible right now, outside of maybe Enzo & Cass? Shining Stars just reappeared from Superstars, Gallows & Anderson lose constantly, Golden Truth... no, and that's basically the entire tag division right now on Raw. Unless they suddenly make a team actually competition or bring in another team, there's nobody to take those belts.
By this point, it seems like the New Day will hold the title long enough to break Demolition's record. You're getting more and more mentions of the length of the title reign on commentary, and the Demos themselves have even been name-dropped a few times. I'm actually in favour of this happening, since it would be fun to see one of the old-school longevity records be broken. Obviously you can't break Sammartino's record and even the IC/US title reign records (454 days for Honky Tonk Man, 523 days for Lex Luger) are probably out of reach, unless they really go all-in on this Miz push for the next seven months.
George Michael weighed his options. Maeby had chastised him for not taking risks, and what would be a bigger risk than perpetuating a lie about software just to ignite the passions of a woman? Of course it would be a lie, and since Maeby wouldn't know it was a lie, he wouldn't appear to be taking a risk. Perhaps the bigger risk was to tell his father he was lying, that he came up with it because he wanted his father to leave so he could enjoy what remained of his senior year. After all, he wondered, wouldn't that be the course of action taken by an overtly sexual man, a man who owns a pair of matador pants? He had not responded now for 41 seconds according to his unfailing internal clock, and it was time to come clean.
All in all that was a good show. Some good matches with some great moves but I doubt I will remember it in a few months time. Apart from Cesaro folding in half - very scary moment. Remember when Lita did that years ago?
Rollins needs to get over more as a face - not sure what he needs to do, but he is still the same Seth as before. The pedigree needs to stop, which means the match with Hunter needs to happen sooner rather than later but I think they are going to drag it out for a long time.
Gallows and Anderson should have looked like this from the start, without the losing part again. I'm another that doesn't get New Day. It was amusing but has gone on too long. Not sure who will beat them in the end. I think there is a good chance that Cesaro and Sheamus will end up a team and maybe end up with the title. Does it make sense? Not really, but when was the last time that stopped them?!
I think I am in the minority and didn't love the womens match. It was good, but expected more. Maybe that is the downside of watching NXT!
Kendrick being a heel is a good thing as it will help the cruiserweights to have characters, but for the first time out on PPV they needed to have all of the flipping and flopping to capture the attention of those who haven't seen it yet. Maybe a rematch from the final of the tournament would have done it?
Nous ne nous pouvons pas sortir. They took a star making match in the Best of 7 final and shit the bed with that finish so hard I believe they completely detached their o rings.
I'm enjoying Jericho's new character as much as anyone, but I'm still confused as to why the NXT contingent is his own personal job squad.
Foley: I'm going to punish/test Charlotte by placing her in a match where her valet has carte blanche to interfere.

The Club needs to get to SmackDown somehow. They are dead and buried on Raw.
