Well, here we are. Takeover's finished, the roster is replenished, and we're ready to see what the future holds. Before we get to any of that, though, we have the traditional TO recap show. There's never a whole lot of meat on these things, but let's see what we've got to work with here.

We start with our first of two matches, as Perfect 10 Tye Dillinger takes on Wesley Blake, the less good or interesting half of Blake and Murphy. P10, on the other hand, is monumentally beloved by the crowd. Honestly, it is one of the best single reactions I've seen somebody get for their entrance. Anyhoo, this is still pretty much Squash City. A little back and forth off the lockup, a bit of taunting from Dillinger, and then a very cool move from Blake. He dodges Dillinger, who gets caught up in the ropes, then comes in with a back stabber. He misses a senton, though, which puts Tye back in the game, and ultimately lets him hit the Tye Breaker for the win.
Match Rating: Really, Everybody Loves A Good Comedy Heel.

Recap of Roode's debut. The do the regular backstage post-match interview afterwards, and Roode wants everyone to know that it was Glorious. Right, got it. Also, he points out that this was just Step 1 of his plan, Step 3 of course, being the elevation of the NXT brand that he promised.

Please, fill in your own Step 2 joke here:_______________

Recap of Aries/NWJ. Afterwards, Aries says he's tired of being interrupted, which I'll admit has kind of been a thing with Aries.

Recap of the Women's title match, complete with some post match stuff focusing on what turned out to be Bayley's farewell. Backstage, Bayley's got some more or less generic stuff to say about losing, but she gets interrupted by Ember Moon, who wants Bayley to know that her goal is to one day become like Bayley. That's absolutely, positively the best way to graduate Bayley out. The one-time star-struck fan leaves NXT as a role model to the new girls coming on board. Perfect.

Also, we get to see Bayley's RAW debut, which I felt was a little perfunctory, but what you gonna do?

Okay, tag team title match recap, and the post-match interview here is something else. Number one, I just want to say that I think DIY (nee the Indy Guys) needed to lose this match. It made the team look like real stars, and if they can fight their way back to another title match, a win there would be dynamite. But they successfully built them up without going overboard and putting the titles on them too fast, which I think deserves a lot of praise. Anyhoo, the promo involves the Revival calling out every team on the main roster, claiming that they are not the best tag team in NXT, but in the entire world. Big talk, Top Guys out!

Recap of the NXT title match, no interviews, though. New champion Nakamura will address us next week, and while Joe's jaw was not broken at the end of that match, it turns out that it was dislocated, so Joe's got nothing to say for a little while at least.

Vignette for "SAnitY." I don't know who that is supposed to be, but it seems like the capitalized letters might not be random?

And our main event: TM61 faces off against the Authors of Pain. First item of interest - AoP now sport Demolition-style masks on their way to the ring. Second, and far more important, item, however, is that we finally learn the names of the Authors of Pain: Occam and Razor. Now, that's not quite correct, and I know that I have been well and truly beaten to this joke due to the abysmal lateness of this recap, but it's right there, and I don't think that we can afford to ignore it. They decided to name these two goons, essentially, Occam and Razor. The simplest solution is usually correct. Anyhoo, it's not a bad match. Definitely one of the few competitive matches for the AoP so far. The AoP get started before the bell, but TM61 are able to turn it around and clear the ring, leading to a big double dive spot. Once everything gets sorted out and the bell actually rings, TM61 stay in control by using their speed and quick strikes to avoid the AoP as much as possible. Eventually, though, Occam lands a clothesline and slides Thorne face-first across the apron into the post. He gets worked over for a while, then hits a jawbreaker and an enzuigiri to make the Hot Tag. Miller lands some big forearms and a cross bodyblock, and then TM61 manage a very cool hi/low spot. That sets up Thunder Valley, but before they can actually hit it, the AoP rally, hit a spinebuster and the double powerbomb, then wrap it up with their side Russian legsweep combo.
Match Rating: I'm Thinking Of Calling It "The Manuscript."

Recap shows are lightweight. I'll see you guys next week when the "new era" of NXT really gets started.

I was half-paying attention to the Asuka/Bayley recap package until I realized they were ending it with a Bayley retrospective. Shit, that was sad.

Tye Dillinger + first appearance in months + first entrance of the night at Barclays = SUPER POP

I think they're finally gonna do something with Dillinger.
He was wrestling against a heel for possibly the first time.
No matter cheers he got, he was always the bad guy in the match and thus usually used to make a face look good.
So maybe he gets that push now.

I am glad they finally progressed a little with the Authors of Pain, though I think it's time Ellering starts talking and tells us what's going to happen. I have nothing against those two guys but Ellering is annoying me with the way he just stands there.

Since Sting has now won the WWA Title, and Vince has a habit of stealing champions from that bastion of tradition (Eddy and the first alum of Warrior University come immediately to mind)
