I expect you will be SHOCKED! to hear that I am playing it and I'm a little obsessed with it. I just wish there were less people walking around the same time I was...I'm not used to that. Also what if THEY all get fit and beautiful? My edge will be lost!
But anyway it froze when I was trying to capture an Ekans and I got sooooo annoyed.
I don't have a device that can play it but my girlfriend plays it. She caught a Jigglypuff in my bed last night, in the non-euphemistic sense. For some reason, my bed attracts Goldeens, she's caught 4 or 5 of those here.
I also live within 3 blocks of a state university campus, a city park, and one of the densest bar districts in the country, so there are approximately 100 Pokestops within lazy walking distance of my apartment. And our favorite bar is across the street from a gym.
I'm in. Team Valor (not that team affiliation means much).
Just playing casually for the fun of capturing. Not super interested in leveling up and gym battling. I did evolve a Pidgey since they're so cheap to evolve.
I also had the app freeze on me when I was in the process of capturing a Primeape, but it's been more stable since yesterday's update.
My biggest problem is a nagging foot injury, or I'd be hunting all over Downtown L.A. on my lunch break.

There's an in game item that will attract Pokemon to your position for a half-hour. There's also an in-game item that you can use at a Pokestop that'll do the same. Not sure how you get either, but better you find a way to get them to come to you than you make a bad injury worse trying to catch em all.

Incense and lures? Yeah, I'm all over that. (Though I've had mixed results with the incense.)
So far I'm having fun with it the heat has been an issue, found some decent pokemon spawns around me. Sunday is a huge meet up for Chicago Trainer at Millennium Park. I don't like that we Had to pick team, as it basically turned into a turf war. My only issue with the game itself besides the constant crashing is the distance doesn't help much and you end up walking back and forth for blocks trying to find one squirtle that even when you do find it runs off.
Dont say its not worth it, when you can sleep with no fear, that kind of time is worth any thing.- FFX
Still enjoying this. Level 21. Seen 82 Pokémon, caught 81 (stupid Arbok). I was already going for lots of walks, but this makes it a little more interesting - and the social aspect of going out with friends is a nice plus.
I spent last weekend in Calgary and was pretty excited to catch a bunch of Pokémon that are relatively common there and less so here. And I'm spending the weekend at the local folk festival, which is in a park ringed by Pokéstops. Time to delete some more potions to make space for Pokéballs.
I actually find myself considering hitting GameStop tonight to see if they have any PG Plus doodles left for sale.....which is weird, because I won't drop 99 cents on Pokeballs but I'll gladly spend $34.99 for this trinket? I'm weird.
I got two Shiny Minun and zero Shiny Plusles this weekend. Life is cruel.
I've not put money in this game for the full year I've been playing it (...under my account...) but I'm tempted to do so to make sure I have raid passes for next weekend.
Yeah, I still have never seen a Miltank or an Unown, and probably a couple others I'm forgetting. I have one shiny Plusle and, shockingly, caught a shiny Aerodactyl last night (having only seen about five over two years), but no Minuns yet.

Dang. I just use a text file.
I may have put some money into the game. I may not care to disclose how much. I really hated the old gym battling system and decided that my time was worth more than my money. This may be unwise, especially when my wife and I have Family Sharing set up on our Apple accounts so she can see every poor decision I make when it comes to iOS spending.
As far as I can tell, of currently available Pokémon, I need: - Relicanth - Torkoal - Tropius - Volbeat - Celebi - Alolan Graveler and Golem - all forms of Unown except F and T - shiny versions of Charmander, Charmeleon, Shellder, Cloyster, Magmar, Omanyte, Omastar, Kabutops, Zapdos (coming out July 21), Pichu, Togepi, Togetic, Wobbuffet, Magby, Lugia, Poochyena, Mightyena, Makuhita, Hariyama, Mawile, Electrike, Manectric, Wailord, Swablu, Banette, Duskull, Dusclops, Absol, Snorunt, Glalie, Kyogre
I've heard lots of people say Miltank is super rare but I've seen 27 here, according to my Dex. They're uncommon for sure but far from Unown level.
I have a shiny Kyogre! I would happily trade it to you should we be thousands of miles closer. Maybe I should drive there, think of all the discs I could spin.
The spreadsheet came out of one the last "walking distance cut in 1/4th" bonus periods, where I was walking a great amount in the last day or two to get enough candy for an evolution I was struggling in.
Which was for Venusaur, I think. It was definitely one that became an easy community day find weeks later. The *only* justification I can give myself for playing this is it I'm walking around looking at a screen instead of sitting at home looking at screen so I guess I still got the walking in.
Were the other regionlocked ones - like Mr. Mime and Kangaskhan - available earlier? I've seen some of the Mimes in gyms of late and I don't think everyone gone to Europe.
