This comes from Reddit and is unconfirmed, but Lawler had said they were going to be doing split PPVs. (What are we going to do without Lawler to reveal things early?)
August 21 - SummerSlam (Both) September 11 - Backlash (SmackDown, Network only) September 25 - Clash of Champions (Raw) October 9 - No Mercy (Smackdown) October 30 - Hell in a Cell (Raw) November 20 - Survivor Series (Both) December 4 - TLC (SmackDown) December 18 - Roadblock (Raw)
My first thought is the RAW guys are going to be thrilled not to have to do a TLC show. Hell in the Cell is not an easy night, but there's a lot fewer guys who are going to be in one of those.
There's 3 weeks between PPV three times, and 2 weeks between PPVs four times. (This doesn't include Takeovers.) It's more 'normal' if you consider the brands separate, usually 4 or 5 weeks, but that TLC show is also just two weeks after Survivor Series.
"CLASH OF THE CHAMPIONS" - By which we mean our champions and not the Smackdown champions, who won't actually wrestle each other, but instead will "clash" with their challengers.
Originally posted by texasranger9Why, why ,why can't they just keep it 12-13 PPV's a year with both brands on it? This is going to end up with some stinkers of some PPV matches.
One good way to address that concern is by shortening the length of the brand-specific shows.
You know, there's already so many PPVs that most of them aren't much more than glorified RAWs. I'm not so sure that more PPVs would have been my solution here.
I thought this weeks show was a significant improvement on the last month of shows. The in ring work was really good imo and Aries made the as the Hogan things stuff somewhat tolerable. The Mickie-Gail match was pretty solid match.
