Why oh why would they trade SO MUCH to move up to take a QB who isn't a real number one overall talent?

The Titans now have 7 of the top 76 picks. Do they Dallas Cowboys it, and take a truck load of future All Pro and HOFers? Or, do they just blow up, like they are want to do?

Let's see what they can do to make the picks count this time.

I'm disappointed there's only two top of the draft QBs - we need more of them so people can make silly trades to get in line. (Also - maybe because I only know college QBs these days if they're good and on good teams - I'm not that sure those two are really that good.)

Especially considering the quarterbacks in question. Jared Goff and Pete Wentz (like I'm supposed to believe this whole "Carson Wentz, North Dakota State QB" thing) weren't even that highly regarded at the end of the season. Mid-first round, sure, but not worth trading up and unloading a bunch of assets just to get them. And now two teams have talked themselves into doing just that (although I suppose it helps that Tennessee doesn't need a QB and Cleveland needs a lot of everything, so if two teams want to give them a fistful of draft picks to get two QBs, then all the better). Are we really in a league where you have to get a world-beating quarterback, even though there probably aren't 32 people in football who can play at this imagined level? Or did everyone else forget this most recent Super Bowl, where the desiccated husk of Peyton Manning grabbed another ring thanks to a dominant and aggressive defense? I mean, Tim Tebow even won a playoff game by just making a couple of plays in a majorly run-heavy offense.

That dessicated husk who won the super bowl single handedly was Peyton Manning, only one of the greatest to ever play quarterback, especially when you consider that his greatest rival is a cheating cheater who cheats and is therefore all the better. Carson (Peter?) Wentz and Jared Goff are super great quarterbacks entirely worth jumping up for and sacrificing years of potential talent selection, especially at a time when the roster has been purged because the prior boy-genius that came to town turned out to be a snake oil salesman who couldn't GM his way out of a paperbag.

DISCLAIMER: I am an Eagles fan and its much easier to drink the kool aid than it is to attempt to apply logic to their decisions of late.

He absolutely was one of the greatest ever. Past tense. But at that point in Manning's career, age and injuries pretty much sapped him of the ability to perform at that level (or even anything close). Going 13/23 for 141 yards and one interception isn't "singlehandedly" winning the Super Bowl, especially considering the Broncos didn't even crack 200 net yards in the game. Their defense kept shutting down Carolina and giving the team great field position. That's how they won.

So, in order to replenish a roster that got purged of talent, they... get rid of a bunch of chances to pick contributors? Just in the name of getting one of two quarterbacks that has pretty much jumped into the top two slots purely off of conventional wisdom? I mean, it's entirely reasonable and realistic to think Cleveland's going to botch all these choices, so Philly might still come out ahead. But it still seems like these two guys aren't worth the cost. If this was the 2012 draft and you're looking at Andrew Luck and an uninjured RG3, maybe then you do this deal. But Goff and the bassist for Fall Out Boy moonlighting as a college football player? This is a huge overspend for the Eagles, especially when the latter is, at best, considered someone who does everything you would want out of a QB besides, you know, being able to accurately complete passes.

SPOILER: This will still work out better than if Chip Kelly was still in charge for you guys.
