Remember how season one took its time almost at a methodical pace to just give us Matt in the suit. Season Two says Fuck that noise and we get Puniser/Daredevil at the end of episode one. Every episode is one block of amazing built on another block. The big story is who killed Frank Castle's family. We are first lead to believe its a random act of chance that three drug groups happened to have a firefight at the park. Instead, it turns out to be a botched sting by the DA, who wants Frank dead btw, to get someone called Blacksmith. When Punisher is captured by Daredevil by episode four, we get the best thing in Marvel comics, Matt Murdock, Defender of Vigilantes.

Actually, its Foggy, because Matt is visited by Elektra right after he captures Punisher. Elektra is fighting the Hand who want bring about Black Sky. This all goes back to the War that Stick talked about last season. There is a lot of things that go back to last season like say Wilson Fisk. Yeah, the best kept secret about this series is Fisk is back. He is running his prison to the point that he uses Frank to kill his competition in exchange for Frank to get more info on the people who killed his family. Frank even goes as far as to have a total meltdown in court when it looks like he might get off.

Frank leaves prison, because he is to dangerous to kept alive with Fisk and there will be far too many questions if he dies in Fisk's base of operation. We get copy cat killings to make it look like Punisher is doing all this stuff, but it turns out to be the Blacksmith. Who in sorta poor writing was Frank's CO.

The thing with the Punisher storyline is Karen is all up in it. After killing Wesley, last season, she sees some of Frank in her. To the point, when Frank is out of prison, she helps him after he rescues her. She tries to get Frank to come back to the lightside when we find out who Blacksmith is, but its too late and really if you were kinda ok with him killing everyone else to get to this point, why should this matter?

Daredevil, Elektra and Stick take on the Hand and we found out that the Black Sky is....Elektra. Yeah, what? Ok? We also get Nibo from last season, the original Hand dude. He is alive somehow. Stick trained Elektra and now wants to kill her after Matt and her decide not to go along with Stick. Honestly, once its revealed that Elektra is a Thing and not a person, it gets all kinds of messy. Regardless, the Hand go after people, DD has saved including Karen and it leads to Elektra doing what she does best...die. She dies and Punisher magically shows up in full gear to put down a few ninjas, so Matt can defeat Nibo and Stick straight up murder him when no one was looking.

The other big development is Foggy. He grows up a lot this season to the point that Hogarth from Jessica Jones offers him a job after the Punisher case. He takes it and we get the end of Murdock and Nelson. Karen, who is hot and cold in most of this, takes Ben Urlich's old job. At the end, Matt tells Karen who he is and we see the Hand begin the Resurrection of Elektra, because that is the other thing she does best.

Marvel connections to this. Punisher has a dis called Micro at the end which will lead to his pal, Micro-Chip. Night Nurse Claire mentions Luke Cage and eventually gets fired allowing her to show up really anywhere. Roxxon Corporation is a front for the Hand which was mentioned a lot in Agent Carter this season, nothing about ninjas though. The servers where wiped from the newspapers during the attack in New York for some reason. I found that one particular odd, but we never get resolution for why here. Jessica is named by Foggy's ex from last season. Lastly, we get the very real threat that season three will be all out war when Kingpin does get released, because he says so to Matt while beating the shit out of him in prison.

Really, this is the best show they are doing. Hands down. Carter this season was flat and deserves the ax for not at least stating Shield is around the corner. Agents of Shield has been pussy footing around with the Inhumans, who they really want to call Mutants. They also refuse to let the Ward character go. The DC shows just..I mean they aren't equipped to do what this show is doing right now. Daredevil this season gives you everything you want. Punisher vs Daredevil, Punisher vs. Kingpin, Daredevil vs. Elektra and everyone vs. The Hand. Great stuff with great dialogue. The plot at times feels off especially when Karen does stupid shit with Punisher at the end and the whole Black Sky thing is weird.

Yet, it never goes full off the tracks. The one disappointment is that Nibo not Bullseye kills Elektra. I heard Jason Strantham was cast, but that went away. I am thinking they had an idea with Bullseye being in this season than scratched it to finish up the Hand stuff. If anything, now Bullseye can kill Elektra and she can stay dead this time. Or probably not.

The American Flag in the back of the courtroom during the Punisher trial had 48 stars. Is there some significance to that? Does the US in this Marvel universe not have 50 states?

'But if one is struck by me only a little, that is far different, the stroke is a sharp thing and suddenly lays him lifeless, and that man's wife goes with cheeks torn in lamentation, and his children are fatherless, while he, staining the soil with his red blood, rots away, and there are more birds than women swarming about him.' ALL OF THIS

IS GREAT.

though I was disappointed that Punisher did not show up in the ragin' climax to even the odds like The Old Stone Cold and instead just nonchalantly picked off a few ninjas from the roof. Nevertheless, probably the MCU's most towering achievement. The Defenders are gonna be pretty over I think.

I really think Kingpin's War should be The Defenders storyline. As it is clear Daredevil isn't enough to stop him he barely beat him last season.

Everything with Elektra was good she just wasn't very likeable till the last few episodes. They all but promised she will return at some point.

I was never a big Punisher fan but I did like the way he was used here, The line that he is already dead is classic Punisher.

Finally everyone that matters knows Matt is daredevil now I just would have like that to come up earlier and not at the end.

I can't wait till Luke Cage in September, will all the nods Matt or Jessica have to show up there right? As I doubt we will see Iron Fist before his show

For some reason I went into this with the impression that this season was supposed to be sub-par compared to last season. Holy shit was I wrong. I would put this just below Jessica Jones as far as how good it was, and I think JJ was one of the best things to come out of the MCU. I feel like a total dumbass for not seeing it coming but HOLY SHIT DID MY JAW DROP when Fisk sits up from that weight bench.

This season worked because while they took all season last time just to build to the Daredevil costume, they could do the same thing with Elektra and Punisher and it didn't feel as egregious because Daredevil is running around.

I was shocked when the DA got shot. She seemed like enough of a thorn in everyone's side to stick around.

I should have known you don't cast Clancy MotherF***ing Brown just to play some army vet in one episode. I figured Blacksmith had to be someone we had met. I never picked up it would be the CO and kept thinking it might be Stick or Fisk.

They painted themselves into a bit of a corner with Matt being all smitten with Karen only for Elektra to show up and be the love of his life, but over the eight or so episodes they did a good job of pivoting, even if it mostly resulted in me constantly yelling at the screen "JUST F***ING TELL HER YOU'RE DAREDEVIL!" Glad that he came out at the end, although it will be interesting to see what happens to Nelsom-Murdock (and Page) from here. If there is any from here. I could understand Matt trying to distance himself from Foggy to minimize the Kingpin's revenge, but its probably too late for that.

Maybe it was the limited usage but Kingpin felt even more Kingpin-ny this year. D'Onofrio is amazing.

I'll agree that Netflix has some of the best Marvel stuff going on, but that's not to diminish anything else. Carter fell a little short this year but it was still ok. I wouldn't say that SHIELD won't let Ward go as much as they won't let Brett Dalton go. Which... I feel like AoS is the red-headed step-child of the MCU. Lets kill Coulson before he's supposed to get his own show. Lets dismantle SHIELD before their first season is over. The fact that only Sam Jackson has shown up (and Jamie Alexander to a lesser degree, although that's done until she gets her tatoos fixed) is disappointing. Can't you write an RDJ tv cameo into his contract. Hell, how much can Anthony Mackie cost for a 30 second scene?

They have enough of a sprawling world now that they should be able to have Bernthal cameo as Punisher on AoS. Or maybe even Coulson or Daisy visiting Cage or Jones to talk about their powers. I want to see the Defenders at least get a bit part in Infinity War. I remember seeing that comic and seeing how it had EVERYONE and Infinity War better damn well do that. Even if cosmically fighting Thanos is a bit of a jump from Ninjas with a resurrection sarcophogus. I've seen Feige already talking about how that probably won't happen, and its a bit disappointing, but I'll hold out faith until the post-credits scene is done and no one from Netflix shows up.

But yeah, Daredevil Season Two was awesome.

Just amazing. The hallway in season one was outstanding. The stairs in season two though, just wow. It was like a reverse Die Hard minus a few floors and filler dialogue. Simply cutting to the action.

I really can't think of any tv show action sequence that is better than what happened in those stairs, it was right out of a Jason Statham Transporter movie, just better.

Bernthal was a pretty good Punisher too. Better than any that had been cast in the role before. By the end of the season he was Frank Castle and longer Shane to me.

Lots of good times. How good is this show? Left me wanting more courtroom scenes, of which I have seen plenty already.

Loeb runs Marvel TV, Feige runs Marvel movies, and maybe they hate each other but definitely Feige doesn't like Loeb.

Still not an excuse for ZERO Daredevil on AoS.

We're clearly going to be getting all of the Defenders' series overlapping, so I'm not really sure we need to add even more to the mix by having a random Avenger or Agent of SHIELD appear in an episode. The beauty of the Defenderverse is that they're operating within just one city and really just one neighbourhood (Hell's Kitchen) dealing with the "street-level" threats that fly under the radar for SHIELD or the Avengers. Ok, maybe Purple Man should've triggered a few alarm bells for Coulson and company, but still, I'll live.

Bernthal was terrific. Deborah Ann Woll really stepped it up, she went from good in S1 to arguably the best performance of anyone in S2.

George Michael weighed his options. Maeby had chastised him for not taking risks, and what would be a bigger risk than perpetuating a lie about software just to ignite the passions of a woman? Of course it would be a lie, and since Maeby wouldn't know it was a lie, he wouldn't appear to be taking a risk. Perhaps the bigger risk was to tell his father he was lying, that he came up with it because he wanted his father to leave so he could enjoy what remained of his senior year. After all, he wondered, wouldn't that be the course of action taken by an overtly sexual man, a man who owns a pair of matador pants? He had not responded now for 41 seconds according to his unfailing internal clock, and it was time to come clean.

I watched this season on my treadmill every morning and by the 4th episode I was getting up a few minutes earlier in order to squeeze in a few extra minutes of viewing each day. Just finished it all this morning. Loved it.

Like some others, I see no reason to cross any of the other Marvel Properties into Daredevil, Jessica Jones or the soon to come Luke Cage. They just don't have the same tone or are even shot in the same manner. The crossover characters would seem VERY out of place to me.

I don't know all the comic book lore or storyline but even with Matthew's final reveal to Karen, I can't help but seeing her by Frank's side in the future.

Is it September 30 yet ?

Just finished it tonight and yeah, some stuff seemed unnecessarily complex (The Blacksmith orchestrated that complex mob battle just to get Castle in the crosshairs? "The Black Sky" is one person?) but there was so much great stuff throughout. And holy crap - I knew Fisk showed up but I thought it was just going to be a glorified cameo in the finale or something like that. Instead he was maybe the highpoint of the whole season.

Jessica Jones felt like it dragged out Kilgrave too much at times, but DD S2 had too many subplots running and couldn't pull all the threads together in the end. It was still pretty much on par with S1.

My only real complaint is the same as what I had with the first season - it's just too unnecessarily gory-for-gore's-sake.

Damn straight!

And for the record, Agent Carter is my favorite of ALL the MCU TV shows...it's a shame it is almost certainly done. :(

Done? What do you mean??? I'll concede that there's a certain limit to how much they can mine from the past, but I enjoy having Hayley Atwell on my tv regularly. Last season had its flaws but it was still pretty damn good. I could see the right plot justifying a season 3.

The ratings were terrible and Hayley signed on for another ABC pilot. I would like nothing more than a Season 3 but I wouldn't be surprised in the least if that's all we get... :(
