This week began with a Dixie/Ethan interaction backstage. Thankfully, Ethan acted as heelish as ever. Character development is best done in a slow, smooth manner. EC3 will be getting his rematch for the title in a steel cage next week at Lockdown.

Then, the opening Impact theme. Perfect tone setting.

Ethan then called out his former bodyguard Tyrus. Tyrus has an entrance theme now! No wonder he sided with Matthew, I guess his new boss paid for the theme. They have a good segment, with Tyrus starting to come into his own on the mic, and seeming more like a threat. Tyrus underscored that Ethan's always been afraid of one thing: being alone. Eventually Matthew/Tyrus challenge EC3 and a partner of his choice to a match tonight. If EC3 can find anyone to be his partner, what with him alienating everyone.

Later in the show, eternal babyface, FoF winner, Detective Galloway and former ally, Spud both offer to be Ethan's partner. Ethan turns them both down, being arrogant and self-centered. Ethan is so Ethan.

1. Open challenge for the King of the Mountain (TV) Title: James Storm (w/ Bobby Roode) fought Eric Young (c) (w/ Bram) to a double countout.

They then continue brawling backstage throughout the show. In one interesting segment two of them are filmed via the ReAction Cam, while the others are filmed via the normal TNA Camera. It was cool to see the two styles of camera work mixed in together.

Where is Mr. Anderson? His Huh? show turned Matt heel a few weeks ago, and then he disappeared. Anderson is mysterious.

2. "The Miracle" Mike Bennett (w/ Maria) defeated "The Skateboarder Mandrews" Mark Andrews
Bennett continued attacking after the match, until Detective Galloway chased him off. They brawled more later.

Decay (including Rosemary) cut a promo in a cage. They still have the belts they stole from the Wolves. They were interrupted by some British Guy who seemed to be coming for Rosemary. An old flame, I assume. Both Steve and Abyss to a lesser extent seem into Rosemary, so this could turn fiery.

A hype video aired for Odarg the Great.

Tyrus and Matthew encourage Spud to forget about helping Ethan.

Hype video for Angle/Lashley, Angle's last match in a few weeks. This video covered Lashley losing the world title to Angle. The Angle-Lashley feud was really good for Angle. It got him out of the character slump that he'd been in for a few years.

3. TNA World Tag Team Championship: Monsters Ball: Decay (Crazzy Steve and Abyss w/ Rosemary) versus The Wolves (Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards) (c)
This match had a great finish. The Wolves had to Suicide Dive onto Abyss to put him through a barbwire table to take him out of the match. Then Steve and Rosemary put one of the Wolves's head in a chair, covered his head with tacks, and nearly sandwiched him between two chairs and tacks, before he escaped at the last second. Next Steve was taken out by evading Janice, and then using Janice to knock Steve's chair into him. Lastly, before Rosemary could intervene, Richards kissed her. She then realized that during the kiss, Richards had stolen her mist packet from her mouth. Which naturally then led to Richards misting Rosemary. This could make her mysterious British Guy ex quite perturbed!

All in all, Decay made for great threats to the Wolves, and the Wolves looked fantastic in finding way to overcome them with style.

Winners: and still world tag team champions, The Wolves!

In one of the EC3/Partner segments, EC3 tells Spud that Spud looks out for other people way too much. Good observation about Spud's character.

4. Madison Rayne and Gail Kim defeated The Dollhouse (Jade and Marti Bell w/ Rebel, w/out Kong)
Rebel attacked afterwards, but Velvet Sky returned to make the save. Its always nice to see Rayne/Kim team up. They were the champs at one point, back when the Knockouts Tag Titles were a thing. I wonder if they're still sitting on Brooke Hogan's old desk, from when she vacated the belts.

Afterwards Velvet extended a challenge for a KNOCKOUTS LETHAL LOCKDOWN.

Mahabali Shera announced that he found a new partner to fight Eli Drake and Jesse Godderz: Odarg the Great!

5. Mahabali Shera and Odarg the Great v. "The Man" Jesse Godderz and FoF-KOTM Winner Eli Drake
The announcers were in troll mode over how Odarg is Grado. Drake was perturbed and tried to demask him. Eventually Grado unmasked himself and pinned Drake. Then he remasked himself. Drake better get rid of Odarg soon, lest his conspiracy be revealed.
Winners: Mahabali Shera and Odarg the Grado

Afterwards backstage "The Man" was all LOL over his bro-mans 2.0 partner's feud with Grado. Odarg then showed up and announced he was fighting Drake at Lockdown. Drake was incredulous. "The Man" continued LOLing.

6. Ethan Carter the Third and (? anyone ?) v. The Other #1 Contender Tyrus and World Heavyweight Champion MATTHEW HARDY
The heels were starting to wear out Ethan when Rockstar Spud came to his rescue and tagged in. After a needed breather, Ethan was able to come back and pin Matthew.
Winners: Rockstar Spud and Ethan Carter III

Nice theme of the show, as Ethan is starting to realize that he needed Spud's help after all. Spud also managed to remain true to his heroic nature, despite the bad blood he had with Ethan from the past couple of years.

The Lockdown card for this Tuesday is pretty stacked. Shame its not a PPV:

World Heavyweight Championship: Steel Cage: Ethan Carter III v. MATTHEW HARDY (c) (w/ Tyrus)

Lethal Lockdown: The Beautiful People (Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne) & Gail Kim (w/out Angelina Love) v. The Dollhouse (Rebel, Marti Bell and Jade) (w/out Awesome Kong)

X-Division Championship: Steel Cage: Tigre Uno v. Trevor Lee (c) (w/ Gregory Shane Helms)

Steel Cage: Bram and Eric Young v. Beer Money (James Storm and Bobby Roode)

Steel Cage: Eli Drake v. Odarg the Great

Your writeup sounds like TNA's turning around a bit. We may have to watch this.

I've thought for a long time that BG had a decent match left in him, just not a decent tag match with Kip James in him. Shelley vs. Homicide vs. Sabin would be a great match but I'd rather see Shelley vs. Sabin with no hint of breakup.
