Let's get the sad (but unsurprising) news out of the way first; Sasha's been removed from the opening, so her time in NXT is now officially over. That said, we've all noticed how quickly they've been working to rebuild the women's division, and it keeps going with our first match tonight. Emma is out to take on new girl Shazza. What, are we back to the WWE Random Name Generator? Yikes. Anyhoo, Shazza's a fellow Aussie, and the commentators make a point to mention that Emma and Shazza used to know each other way back when, although they haven't seen each other in a while. Emma's got no love lost for her old friend, though. There's a quick bit of back and forth, but then Emma stops short on a rope-run spot and dropkicks Shazza right in her face. Emma stars to work her over proper, including that spot she does where she stands on the girl's hair while pulling her up off the ground. Shazza tries to counter with a roll-up, but Emma makes her pay for that one, working in a series of grinding rest holds. Byron Saxton points out that Emma is grabbing her hair, using the ponytail to her advantage. My wife points out that neither woman in this match has a ponytail. Good call, Saxton. Emma slams Shazza's head into the middle turnbuckle to set up the Emma Sandwich, and gets ready to lay in the Emma-lock. Right before she does, though, she grabs Shazza's hair one more time, cranks her head back, and stomps her face into the mat in an incredibly brutal spot. Then it's the Emma-lock, and of course, the win.
Match Rating: Sure Are A Lot Of Australian Women Around Here.

After the match, we go to a WWE.com interview with James Storm to get some comments from him on his debut last week. He doesn't really say a whole lot, and if you ever saw him in TNA, you already know his deal, but man-oh-man does he need the Performance Center's promo class. He cuts the whole thing to Tom Phillips instead of to the camera, and not only does that mean he's not making any eye contact with the audience, but he also keeps turning his back to the camera. That sort of shit drove me nuts in TNA, and I am not going to tolerate it here. Somebody help this cowboy out.

We've got a Finn Balor music video package here, and it's great, no surprise there. The big upshot is that people, specifically Izzy and her dad, love Finn. Not as much as Becky Lynch, obviously, but still.

Our next match is Jordan and Gable against the Indy Guys, who are still so, so Indy. These guys need something else going for them, besides new names, I mean. Maybe a manager or something. Because they're a great, exciting team, but they're not great, exciting individuals. Anyhoo, Gable and Toyota Camry start with a test of strength, which transitions into them doing the test while both simultaneously doing upside down bridges, which is kind of neat. Gable goes into some serious chain wrestling, giving him the advantage to tag in Jordan. They hit a double-team spot and work over the arm a bit, until a big forearm lets Camry tag in Johnny G., who I'm going to switch gears on and start calling Johnny Wrestling. Everybody else already seems to, and it's way better than the actual name he's using. Once Wrestling comes in, they hit a really nice combo drop toehold/stomp/running knee in quick succession. Jordan catches Wrestling, slamming him into the corner and tagging in Gable. Jordan does a really nice fireman's carry slam, followed up with a nasty-looking armwrench from Gable. Gable continues to work the arm until Wrestling is able deposit him on the top turnbuckle and deliver a standing enziguri. It looks like Gable's in trouble, but he counters with a cross-armbreaker across the top rope. When Gable's forced to break, Johnny Wrestling uses the opportunity to tag in Camry, but Gable keeps the advantage by tripping him up. Camry fires back with some chops and tags in Wrestling. Gable keeps doing a runaround on them, but they're able to trick him with a double team, and Wrestling comes through the ropes with a shoulderblock to put Gable down. Full disclosure: This is the kind of hold/counterhold bullshit that I absolutely LOVE. I am digging the shit out of all of this. We go to break here, and when we come back, Gable's getting worked over. Johnny Wrestling hits a beautiful snap suplex, and then goes to an abdominal stretch. Wrestling and Camry switch out, and while Camry keeps the hold on, Wrestling hits a running dropkick straight to the back of Gable's head. Gable somehow manages to counter Johnny Wrestling with a judo throw and makes the hot tag to Jordan. Jordan is the proverbial house of fire, nailing a belly to belly suplex on Camry, followed by a spear in the corner and then an exploder suplex. Wrestling makes the save, only to get tossed out of the ring for his trouble. Camry counters what looks like maybe a spinebuster attempt with a rollup, and the Indy Guys get back in with their corner double knee strike, and Johnny Wrestling nails a springboard DDT that almost gets the pin until Gable makes the save. The Indy Guys go for a double suplex on Jordan, but he counters by flipping out of it and turfing Johnny Wrestling again. Jordan flapjacks Camry and makes the tag to Gable, and they manage to hit the motion-assisted German suplex to pick up a fantastic win.
Match Rating: LOVE It.

Seriously, I am all about that kind of wrestling, and this was easily the match of the night for me.

Backstage, we get some comments from Bayley. Bayley doesn't know what Alexa Bliss's problem is, but she's proud to be champion and isn't going to let Bliss bother her.

Eva Marie is I DON'T CARE.

Next up, we've got another addition to the women's roster, Kay Lee Ray, who despite the sound of her name, is from Scotland. She's really just out to get killed by Nia Jax, though. Jax is sporting a new look, with some gladiator-inspired shoulder and hip pads. That's a better choice than the sparkles. Makes her look tougher, which is what they should be going for. Anyhoo, Jax starts by forcing Ray into the corner, then giving her the clean break. I know that's what they're supposed to do, but it just seems disrespectful. Ray tries to use her superior speed, landing a flurry of blows, but she misses big from up top, and Jax starts killing her with elbow drops followed by a Canadian backbreaker. Ray counters with a dropkick to the head (the theme of tonight's episode) and goes up top again. This is a mistake, again. Jax catches her, plants her with her urinage-thing, and drops a big leg to finish.
Match Rating: My Favorite Part Is Jax's Big Smile During The Cover.

We flash back to the beating Dash and Dawson delivered to Enzo and Cass last week. This is supposed to segue into a rematch, but that match never gets started. Enzo says about four words as they're walking down the ramp before Dash and Dawson jump them from behind. Cass gets thrown knee-first into the lightboard, and Dash and Dawson follow that up with a combination Indian Deathlock/2nd rope stomp. That's probably going to put Cass on the shelf for a little while if rumors are true.

Alexa Bliss has a challenge for Bayley, but it's not the challenge you expect. She wants Bayley to find a couple guys to team with her for a six-person mixed tag next week. I'm genuinely curious who's going to team with Bayley. I don't think there are any obvious choices.

Next is part 2 of the Apollo Crews video package. We don't learn too much, other than Takeover: Brooklyn was his birthday as well as his debut. That seems like a pretty good birthday.

Finally, it's time for the main event, which is the Samoa Joe/Tyler Breeze match they promised us last week. Breeze starts the match by pulling a page out of the Kevin Owens playbook, and takes a powder outside. He does this three times, and Joe is fuming. So, on the third time, Joe follows him outside, which is of course a stupid decision. Breeze catches him and goes on offense. Things are looking great for Breeze until he decides that he should taunt Joe by reclining in the turnbuckle. Joe kicks him right off, and starts wailing on him. Breeze tries to powder out again, but this time he's greeted by about 300 pound of flying Samoan as Joe topes through the ropes at him. That looks incredibly painful. Joe puts him back in the ring and delivers an enziguri, followed by a chop/kick/knee combo. Breeze is in a lot of trouble until he blocks a whip attempt, hits a forearm shot, and takes control with a rolling double-knee backbreaker. This isn't enough to keep Joe down for long, though. Joe's eventually able to counter with an atomic drop, followed by a big boot and that senton big guys do. A corner chokeslam sets up the Muscle Buster, but Breeze wriggles out of that and hits the Supermodel Kick. They trade punches when that doesn't get a pin, and since Joe's getting the better of that exchange, Breeze tries to go for a roll-up instead. It was a good plan on paper, but it winds up being a mistake as Joe counters the pin attempt into the Kokina Clutch. Breeze gets choked out, Sabu, and that's it for Breeze.
Match Rating: If This Is Tyler's Last NXT Match, He Went Out Swinging For The Fences.

As has been the custom for the last few weeks, we end with a promo. Specifically, Finn's got some quick words for AC. He's excited, and he likes and respects AC. But he's ready for him. One day will be AC's day, but it won't be next week.

Good promo from Finn. He's really coming along on those. This was a dynamite show from top to bottom, the best show in probably the last month (not including Takeover, obviously). Great, great tag match in the middle - I cannot say enough good things about it, and I am 100% all-in on Jordan and Gable. The main event was killer, too. Next week is a title match, plus the six-person tag, so we'll see if they can top themselves.

Nous ne nous pouvons pas sortir.
Jordan and Gable are Sliced Bread #3.

Maybe Bayley's going to team up with the tag champs? Seems obvious to me, since they've got issues with Bliss and Dumb & Dumber.

More importantly, who's going to be Storm's partner, to tag with in the ring and/or do core work in the gym. Didn't Chris Hero get turfed for looking like that?

Kind of sad to see them photoshop Jax to be skinnier in the pre match graphic, and on top of that to use such awful photoshop to do it.

It really seemed like the Vaudvillains were done with Blake and Murphy, though. I think Dash and Dawson are next on their "To Do" list.

If I remember right, the story that went out is that the trainers told Hero to tighten up and he blew them off, and it was his attitude that got him shitcanned.

Shazza is her wrestling name all over the world...I'm pretty sure with the exception of Blue Pants, everyone they've brought in for one-off/jobber appearances have used the usual in-ring names.

What else is there to say about Gable? That tag match ruled and I liked it more than anything on HITC or anything else I saw this past week...

Keeping the theme, a certain former Womens Champ is wearing the exact Bayley outfit from Takeover as her Halloween costume.

Can we just promote Gable & Jordan now and get them against New Day? Sorry Enzo/Cass, you've been jumped on the promotion chart.

Recent appearances by Evie, Kay Lee Ray and Shazza McKenzie were all because they were in the U.S for the October run through Shine, SHIMMER, and various other indies. They were all in Florida at the time of the NXT tapings, so WWE got a look at them.

Funny thing about all the Aussies that have appeared is that they haven't yet had the two best women in that scene even for a one-off appearance. Madison Eagles is one of the best workers around, regardless of gender, and Kellie Skater is the whitest (literally and figuratively) of white meat babyfaces.

Then I vote that Bayley summons the power of Jordable because "Oblivious Chad has crush on Bayley who is not interested one bit" is my new favorite idea in the history of time.
