And much like Season Two of True Detective, we have to ask the question what happened to the writer who did the first season or in Raw's case last week. Sting comes out to praise HHH. Why, because HHH that is why. Honestly, Sting brought the fire like Bubba did later which is a nice change from Cena poop jokes and Reigns looking blankly at the TV.

The whole General Hospital sotryline of Ziggler, Rusev and the girls got silly. The only good thing is we know that Ziggler manscapes. Owens/Cesaro are their best match up and its a crime they are giving away these matches on free TV. Yet, no one really pays for the Network, so either way. The Dudley Boyz and New Day is the feud that division needed. I am enjoying 2/3 of Shield/Wyatt family if no one else is.

The Divas revolution seems to be leading to a turn of someone on PCB. While that would be interesting, the most needed thing is getting the Bellas and most of the dead weight out of the division. The team dynamic has helped no one except Nikki who has managed to politic her way in keeping a title she should never have had in the first place.

Rollins. I love Seth Rollins, but if he hasn't realized that Steph and HHH are screwing him than he is the biggest idiot since well Sting during most of his 4 Horsemen runs. I do think the odds of Sting winning is now above 50%. Sadly, Cena winning is now 100%. I don't know why they want to put Seth out there to be a dummy for the Authority. It makes no sense unless they plan to turn Sting or Cena as well which will never happen. If its all to set up a match with HHH/Seth at Survivor Series or down the line then its the stupidest thing they could ever do. We all know HHH's track record with guys like Seth. It also doesn't make sense to turn HHH, because no one really cheers for him especially against Indy darlings. They are booking themselves once again into an abyss.

The true highlight of the show was obviously The New Day's quest to save the tables...even the multiplication tables and the periodic table! Genius...

When was the last time Cena did a poop joke?

Anyway, New Day continues to find ways to be awesome every week. This week we get Kofi's golden winged boots along with Xavier's LUXURIOUS hair, which he then proceeds TO BRUSH outside the ring while taunting the Dudleys. And to think these guys were instant FF material for me when they were first introduced as faces. The turn around has been amazing.

We got Cesaro-Owens and New Day-Dudleys, so things could have been worse.

Beat the clock always sucks, but why is Team PCB only eligible to beat the clock? We got three Divas matches totaling what, six and a half minutes?

Sting's opening promo was the most embarrassing opening promo in a long long time and that covers a lot of ground.

Braun Strowman destroying The Shield was interesting. Cole can yell and scream about how massive he is, but I see him standing next to Reigns and Harper so settle down Cole. I like this feud. Braun doesn't look evil though, he looks like a guy who likes to pet kitties only he has a bad habit of squeezing them to hard.

I didn't watch the main event promo. Closing thus out after the tag match just felt right.

So it's all well and good that we have a Bella-Tron now to count down Nikki's reign. But why would the announcers be trying to add suspense to it?

"Can new #1 Contender Charlotte defeat Nikki and stop her from achieving the longest reign?" No, Cole, she can't, not if her title shot isn't until Night of Champions, which is six days after Nikki would set that mark. I was hoping Beat The Clock would be for a title shot in a week or two, so that there might be some questioning about it. It seems like a missed opportunity if someone doesn't get a title shot sometime over the next two weeks. It shouldn't be a fait accompli that Nikki gets the longest reign, even if that's the ultimate goal of all of this. Make it at least look like she has to work for it.

Cole explained it was because they won the Summerslam match...a stipulation that would have been nice to put in place before the PPV and give them something to actually fight for.

They actually mentioned AJ Lee last night, so I'm hoping they bring her back for one night to cause Nikki to lose the "TITLE". (I'm looking at you, Sting. Vince is fuming right now.)

Yeha, that opening promo by Sting, even tho it was friggin' AWESOME to see him opening Raw, was plodding. Monotonous. Spend some time with Xavier, Sting. Could do wonders for your career. in other news, Sting is in fantastic shape! He and Taker must have the same workout guru.

Xavier was trending worldwide, as well he should have. New Day took my advice and took "the last table in the building" out of play. One layer of bubble wrap should do the trick. Good God, those three are amazing. The crowd just eats them up. I still can't believe that Vince has let Xavier just go out there and ad lib, but THANK YOU, Vince, for that.

Did Kevin Dunn do a 180? The announcers couldn't play Owens up enough last night, and it's about damn time. How about we just keep on planning an Owens/Cesaro match for every mid-Raw match for the next month, ok?

So, next week HHH gets in Seth's face about "how much better he is?" Oh, well. Time for Seth to snap and pedigree HHH.

So, does Kane come back to cost Rollin's the TITLE, or is he the downfall for Braun Strowman as payback for Bray kidnapping him. That WAS the last time we saw masked Kane, right? When he got kidnapped? Time for Steph to unlock the mask cage.

The real question is: What does Rusev think about Hot Summer going into Dog Ziggler's locker room? DOUBLE TURN at NOC with Lana going back to her hair bun and power suit.

That was my thought as well. He looks more like the "friendly hillbilly" character from the WWE of yore than an evil monster.

I'm not as anti-HHH as most. I'm also not a WCW purist. But what the fuck was that opening promo? Verbal fellatio is not Sting's strong suit. That was the most uncomfortably awkward opening promo I have seen from them in a long time. I expected to hear, "Even when my brothers from the nWo tried to even the odds, we quickly realized that we were overmatched by HHH's manhood and DX." Did Nash write that promo? Jesus.

Double turn is the only decent option for Dog and Rusev, but even that's not great. The last thing I want is a smiling Americanized Rusev on my television. Maybe pull a WWE and pretend like the whole thing never happened? Lana shows up next week in her business suit saying anti-American things, someone (Byron) asks, "What about Dolph?" to which Cole replies, "He had to go. His planet needed him."

It was nice to not get the usual 50-50 booking for Cesaro-Owens. It's being told well, the matches are great, and the feud is realistic. Instead of Cena-Rollins at NoC, the more inspired choice would've been a triple-threat for the US belt, but sometimes a man needs his fantasies to get through the monotony of weekly WWE viewing. Also, it's not a Special Event without Cena. Other than they're two of my favorite workers, why should I care about this feud? Are they fighting for the right to lose to Cena (again)?

Divas Revolution now involves a gimmick where the most successful diva is the one who has the shortest match. Great. Nice of JBL to call Nikki "the best in the world". Standards for that title have deteriorated rapidly.

New Day is the best thing they have. Strangely enough, this happened because the performers, either by permission or by flat-out ignoring what they were told, were able to develop the characters on their own, organically. They are the shining example of unscripted success and should be the new standard that all workers should aspire to be.

This show was mostly background noise for me. lotjx is right; there was real progress last week that gave me hope that this week would be more of the same. I need to listen to The Who more.

The crowd is chanting for Lana. Lana should be going after the Bella Belt. That would get the crowd invested in that title and allow Ziggler and Rusev to keep the crowd's attention. This interminable feud and the one-note presentation of Rusev is death for both men.

Sting's WWE career is pretty much the nightmare I was anticipating. His Raw appearances, however, had been pretty solid until last night.

I guess this is confirmation that Cena wins and Sting loses. There's really no reason for the World Champion to have a continued US Title reign (and really, Cena as US Champion is just fine with me), and I think they're just bringing Sting in to put over people left and right.

Not that I think it's good to have an older world champion like Sting, but it would be nice if they'd give his WWE career something to celebrate.

Boring show otherwise.

I want to slap the writers every time they book Sting as a boisterous talker instead of a no-nonsense vigilante who isn't interested in alliances or friendships. Seriously, it's not 1992 anymore. Sting isn't good time boy surfer anymore.

Althought, he would look better with the bleach blonde spikey thing than what he's got going on. A couple of moves into the match, and he's going to look like an old guy. I'm an old guy and know. That's why I keep my hair cut short. Doesn't show the grey.

This is awesome. (clap-clap-clapclapclap)

They need to run with this. Make his the simple guy who doesn't know his own strength. A little like Eugene, and a little like Virgil to Bray's Dibiase.

Uh, excuse me, but Magento takes offence to that comment.

I thought that Sting's first WWE appearance > any other appearance since then, honestly. The mystery is what makes Sting. Leave "Promo Sting" in TNA.

This was the kind of show that made me angry that it existed and more angry that I bothered paying as much attention as I did. From Sting's promo to the diva nonsense to the cherubic Brown Snowman to everything that isn't the New Day, I think it's time for me to take another break from non-NXT WWE.

Brock Lesnar's first contract upon returning from an eight year absence from WWE: loses to Cena and immediately spends almost the entirety of the rest of it fighting HHH, including losing to him at Wrestlemania and a blow-off match where we were clearly meant to infer that HHH was tougher than him.

Sting's first contract after a 30 year career of being the biggest name to never be in WWE: loses to HHH at Wrestlemania, follows it up with a feud that is literally based on how much respect HHH deserves (Seth Rollins: HHH deserves a lot of respect. Sting: No, HHH deserves all of the respect. Stephanie: Sting is right about the amount of respect that HHH deserves, but the manner in which he respects HHH could use some work.)

This fucking guy.
