I have been binging on Encore Westerns lately and I was wondering what other westerns people loved?
My older era western is going to be The Searchers - where Wayne huts down a girl kidnapped by the Indians
My newer era western is Silverado - so many of my favorites are in this movie and it's fun to watch again and again
what are yours?

We're up at camp right now without satellite, so we've got two over the air station. One is Grit TV. It's all westerns and Walker, Texas Ranger all the time. It's awesome. My favorite right now is the on-going serial "The Cisco Kid." Pancho and Cisco are freaking hilarious. I remember the reruns when I was a kid, but I am enjoying them much more now.
Count me in on the Young Guns love. I loved it so much that I even liked Young Guns 2.
Tombstone is probably my favorite. Although a modern era attempt at westerns that might count as a close second.....Django Unchained. Django was pretty awesome if you can get past the modern era stuff (gore, language, N-word).
I'm not really well versed on older westerns but Two Mules for Sister Sara was a fun watch. I still remember watching that as kid whenever it was on. My grandfather with his Schlits, recliner and guitar in hand would always say "here it comes, watch" and I did.
Eastwood and Wayne are obviously the gold standards.
For Clint, my favorite is Outlaw Josey Wales ("Dyin' ain't much of a livin', boy."), but Unforgiven, Hang 'em High and, of course, the Trilogy all loom large
For Wayne, I'd go with Searchers, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (although that's more a Jimmy Stewart movie, but still a fantastic one) and McClintock!, which is definitely the best funny Western.
Beyond the two icons, Tombstone, High Noon and, more recently, Django Unchained. Hateful Eight looks like it's gonna be damn, damn good, too. Kurt Russell's mustache alone!

I'd just like to say that Encore Westerns is my new favorite channel. I am watching a TON of great westerns

My favorite western, indeed my favorite movies of all-time, are Rio Bravo and El Dorado. The plots are nearly identical; John Wayne stars in both, with Dean Martin and Ricky Nelson in the former, and Robert Mitchum and Jimmy Caan in the latter. I just never grow tired of watching either one.
