I'm glad to see the NXT women get the call up while being part of a seemingly major angle. I was not thrilled with how this was presented to us, the need for Stephanie McMahon, or the faction part of this. We shall see.

Rusev-Cesaro-Owens-Cena was superb. Any way you combine these guys will work for me. Summer Rae might be the worst second in the business though.

Thanks for showing up tonight Dean.

Every week Seth Rollins supposedly has 'a plan' and every week that 'plan' seems to be nothing and yet every week that backfires on him ~ The Architect.

Awful ending that didn't want to end. The match should be good, but they've done a piss poor job booking this thing so far. It probably wouldn't hurt if they changed up Brock's formula of letting Heyman ramble on for ten minute stretches.

PPV should be ... eh, okayish?

US title stuff continues to be literally the only thing worth watching on RAW.

I am so sad about the NXT girls getting called up. Maybe they won't fuck it up (hah hah hah hah hah), I mean, Kevin Owens's call up was a home run (hah ho ho ho), there's no real reason to think they'd mess this up just because they got called up on the whim of Stephanie McMahon and are tied to the eternal albatross that is the Bella twins (shit).

I actually watched this week, since I didn't have anything else to do (on mute for most of it so I wouldn't have to listen to that worthless buffoon JBL). Pretty much it was a one match show.

Rusev/Owens/Cesaro was incredible, and seemed to go on forever. After all that, the actual US Title match was an afterthought. Pretty much all Cena until Rusev managed to pull off the Accolade. Gotta give John props for a very amusing "Oh holy SHIT" face when he did that, though predictably Owens provided the screwjob.

I mostly ignored the NXT divas getting called up, because the walking heat sink that is the Bella twins combined with Stephanie being the Angle That Wouldn't Die pretty much summed up why I stopped watching this show. And it looks like the long-awaited saviors of the Divas division are going to be bungled just like everything else this company does.

I got bored with the contract signing and switched over to Conan, and the overrun was STILL going by the time he finished his monologue, 15 minutes later. I really can't bring myself to care about Rollins as long as he's dragging around the albatross of the Authority around with him, though I don't see him sticking with them for much longer.

Leave it to WWE to bring out one of their most over stars, Ambrose, and then have him stand off to one side while his match doesn't happen. Wonder if he was annoyed that he didn't get to do anything or if he shrugged and figured it was an easy night's work. Also wonder if they get paid a flat rate for TV appearances, whether they actually wrestle or not.

Not a lot to convince me to pick WWE back up again. Lucha Underground continues to put it to shame, week in and week out. The US Title stuff is great, but it's at most 1/6th of the show, and when the rest is as subpar as it's been...

So rather than Paige calling on her NXT pals and getting the heat/credit on her to pay off this lengthy "Paige can't find an ally" angle, we instead get...Paige actually looking like a loser having to be bailed out by big sister Stephanie.

Also speaking of missed opportunities, way to just flatly re-introduce Cody Rhodes

NXT Divas showing up was pretty cool but how long will all four of them be utilized on the main shows? Also how long before Vince loses interests and just throw them on Total Divas and lets that show write the Diva's stories? Stephanie was out there because daddy thinks it's best for business, point your pitchforks at the right target.

Cesaro winning the Triple Threat then almost beating Cena before being attacked by Owens would of made more sense seeing as how oh I dunno, Cesaro was the only face in the Triple Threat! Last stand hero is much better received than last stand villain.

So Cody Rhodes legendary father dies, he takes time off to grieve. He returns in his home state ready to be embraced by sympathetic fans who miss him and you have him continue the dying Stardust gimmick? Wouldn't it make more sense to honor Dusty Rhodes by having his youngest return to being Cody Rhodes instead of Batman character. I think the crowd was deflated when they realized he not only wasn't dropping the Stardust gimmick but was staying heel.

So uh, while we're here in Atlanta... say, didn't your dad live here some of the time? Yeah, I heard something like that. That's right. So uh, Atlanta. Your dad was a hero to a lot of people, ha ha ha. I bet he's uh, got a lot of fans out there in the audience. So what I want you to do tonight is, come out as StarDust. Heel it up for them. They probably feel sympathy for you Casey, and uh, and you're probably thinking that now would be a good time to go out there and give a "reality" promo, if you will ha ha ha, and you're not wrong. But there are bigger things going on right now. StarDust. Go out there and no-sell the whole thing. Just cosmic forces, jazz-hands, and sizzle. But not too hot. You know what? Don't care about Stephanie McMahon's introductions of them. Don't care that they are feuding with the Bellas (who have improved the ring). Don't care about the past, which we;ve been burnt with before.

I care that a bunch of young women who busted their ass to improve were on national TV and had a helluva debut. I care that the crowd was hot during the segment and popped for each woman. I care that Paige wasn't an afterthought, and I care they took the time to say she lost lately because of numbers being stacked against her (is true, it is).

I'm not going to be a cynic with this. I'm going to this singular moment and hope for the best.

This is awesome, and potentially very accurate. I think Stardust posted an Instagram photo of himself staring at his dad's boots, after that, I thought for sure Cody would answer Cena's challenge.

Yeah but the other way around, what happens when the sympathy pop wears off?
I don't recall how it worked for Chavo Guerrero, though I guess it didn't work in the long run, they just transferred the sympathy to Rey Mysterio.

I like Stardust better than Cody Rhodes-the non dashing version. So hopefully they'll give him a bit of a direction and let him be as deranged as he can. Much cooler than regular Cody.

Introducing the NXT women through Stephanie is not needed. But as long as they are here-and are booked right it can be good. Though I doubt that all of a sudden we're going to get 10 minutes of solid wrestling. I fear it'll be 5 minutes (at most) of solid overbooking for the first few weeks.

I'm in this camp. I got a moment where all three NXT women were just killing Team Bella, and it was wonderful. I got a comic book preview of Stardust vs Neville (nice SDCC call out - topical!), an amazing three way match with three great talents, and Rusev nearly beating Cena. I loved it. The only slight disappointment was that Bayley wasn't able to be a part of the mass call-up, but it will be cool to see her and Sami when each of them make it to the main roster.

Also wanted to add that I love love love Kevin Owens' full blown (non-NXT) entrance video. Nicely done.

It also helps that I had to skip most of the first hour and turned it off after Brock killed Kane.

Cody likes being Stardust, wanted to continue being Stardust. WWE probably should say 'nope', but they weren't going to say nope to him.

On beyond Cody liking being Stardust, he was in the process of setting up a feud with Stephen Amell (The Arrow) before Dusty passed. If an actual match can result from that, it would automatically become a high-profile bout at, say, Summerslam. Having him come back like nothing's changed and continue talking about comic book heroes and villains makes it look like that feud is still a go.

At the SDCC, Amell got to "cut his first WWE-style promo", and traded a jab or two with the Miz afterwards.

So yeah, if something does come of this heading into Summerslam, it definitely makes sense for Cody to forego a sympathy run.

I recorded it last night and had an enjoyable morning watching it. The 3 way match was excellent and all 3 can be commended for that. Summer Rae needs to go - adds absolutely nothing. The ending with Cesaro and Rusev was very well done and kept you guessing. Rusev getting Cena in the Accolade and his expression was brilliant. Only downside was Owens was bound to be coming back at some stage like last week but even so it was another great 30 odd minutes of wrestling on a Monday night. Or Tuesday morning as the case may be here!

Getting the NXT women up is a big move and I hope it pays off and they don't get lost with all the others. Slightly disappointed for Sasha being stuck with Tamina and Naomi but hopefully her star will shine. Not sure how the matches are going to work - 3v3v3? Not sure that would work but no point bringing them all up to stand outside by the ring. Hopefully Steph will keep out of it now as she will add nothing apart from annoyance.

Reigns/Wyatt brawl was strange with neither selling. Bray needs to change his outfit as well.

Not sure how Sunday is going to finish. Thinking that Rollins is going to keep the belt but not sure how. Brock DQ maybe? Brock is a monster who doesn't need the belt again and not sure how much is he going to be around. Maybe he will win and go in to Summerslam as the champion to lose there, but having a month reign is silly. As I said I'm not sure how Sunday will finish!

I think Bayley's probably lucky if things are going to play out as they were as teased last night. Being the 4th new person to debut among a field of 10 isn't as good as being 1 person with some sort of promotional push to your debut.

ALSO: this would be a fascinating episode of Total Divas.

I'm happy for the NXT girls and I can see potential in all of this. The eventual breakups - Sasha acting bigger than the group (which she is), whatever happens between the Paige trio - can be fun too. And Bayley can appear later in the year and shake things up a bit too. I'd like to see her get that NXT belt first though, the place would explode.

The entire U.S. title situation was just fun. I think they are actually starting to see what we see in Cesaro, guys.

If Cody's happy being Stardust, I'm happy watching it. He's having fun and diving into the character.

Still no real care about the main event or Reigns/Wyatt scene. There was a backstage shot of Jake Roberts with somebody, I was halfway hoping there would be some kind of promo-off with him and Wyatt.

The immediate vibe I got during Stephanie introducing the women of NXT was that of Vince re-introducing Matt Hardy - completely unnecessary McMahon-latching to something the crowd would have been molten for WITHOUT McMahon taint, but they can't help themselves.

Yep. I think I've become so jaded with the product and the company that when I read about this development this was the exact thought that came to mind, quickly followed by dread regarding how they will manage to screw this up within three to four weeks.

I agree that Steph being there kinda robbed the moment of some of its spontaneity and shifted the spotlight so that Steph would get some of the light that should have been focused on the Divas themselves. But, she has been involved with the whole project of bringing up the next batch of Divas and if you recall she introduced the first NXT Womens Championship match on Arrival as well.

So I think that she actually really wanted to be part of it, that it was something that she and HHH have been working at outside the purview of Vince and is legitimately proud to introduce them. But being a MacMahon she just can't help leeching that heat while she does so. ;)
