Heyman doing his thing at the start. I am tired of him. so I went to baseball for awhile.
Next time I checked back in, Brock was beating up midgets and destroying a "55,000 dollar brand new car". OK.
Then I watched the entire Cesaro and Cena rematch, fully expecting Owens to break it up at the end so we would have Cesaro Vs Owens for the chance to face Cena at Battle Ground next week.
But no. A damn classic. I hope this means good things for the Swiss Superman, but somehow, I doubt it. Hell of a match though.
I can't recall a time I saw as many near falls in a 30 minute match

They finally decided to end Raw with real match and it ruled. Cesaro rules. I once wrote a big thing here about how bad John Cena sucks, but he now rules my stupid face. Give me more of this action.
For the matches he views as being big matches, Big Match John comes out and you see some neat tricks. But sometimes there are guys who he wants to put over and/or have an actual match with, and it shows with the sheer quality of the match. Cena and Cesaro had an amazing match several months ago, and I mean Amazing with a Capital A, including that insane Sit Up DDT that I cannot fathom doing since I can't do a normal sit up barely and a roll-through into the AA.
In most of these US Open Challenges, I get the impression Cena WANTS to wrestle these guys. Owens, Neville, there's some swank stuff happening. This has culminated with the match against Cesaro, which was a AAA high caliber wrasslin' match.
When the match started and Cesaro had the mic, I was worried about a mic botch. He powered through, then that match. That match was that match. And what I (and hopefully others) wanted happened; there was no dueling Cena chants - there was just Cesaro chants. Cesaro, through sheer effort and impressive moves, willed the crowd into cheering for just him. It was Cesaro vs ????, not "lets go Cena/Cena sucks". So many impressive moments, which I frankly stopped analyzing at around I saw the "rolling gut-wrenches"(?) and decided to just enjoy the match.
I want Cesaro to happen, I want him to succeed. Hopefully people noticed this match. Hopefully.
You know who did notice the match? Cena. Apparently, after the match he grabbed a mic, demanded Cesaro come back out, and put him over huge.
Oh, the car smashing was nice. Although really, it was an afterthought after that main event. Even Owens getting AA'd immediately I didn't care about as much as I ordinarily would.
Cesaro is the king of not swing but everything and he should've been pushed as a top babyface wrecking shit and doing mighty feats of power since Wrestlemania 30. If Cena's bromance with Cesaro trying to single-handedly make him one uppercut at a time doesn't stick after this time around (and it probably won't) he should just give up and make him his Brutus Beefcake so they can tag together and do all kinds of crazy superstrength indy highspots together, kind of like the Cena/Evan Bourne partnership he wanted but wasn't allowed to do for more than two weeks.
I think Mercury may have called the belly-to-belly onto the car (instead of a simpler F5) on the fly because of the crowd chant and that may have been a miscalculation.
Does Cena somehow not have enough sway with Vince to say, "look, you may not think Cesaro is special but I do, so push him simply as a favour to me." To borrow Justin's Hogan analogy, if Hogan could get all manner of his talentless friends pushed, then surely Cena has the leverage by this point to get an actual star-in-the-making a good run.
Unfortunately, where I think this goes is Cena beating Owens again at Battleground, then Owens beating Cesaro in a 'get ya heat back' undercard (or maybe even pre-show) bout at Summerslam.
Rusev is still the face in this feud --- he's injured Ziggler's throat and spared us all from hearing more lame one-liners.

I said about a month ago that if they weren't careful, this is the start of the Rusev face turn. He's got a broken leg, he lost his woman (by his own actions, but still), and now this chiseled blonde dude is making out with his ex right in front of him on a hundred-foot screen every chance he gets. I don't see how Ziggler is anything other than an opportunistic douche in this situation. The double turn would be great and would benefit both (as long as Rusev and Lana get back together), but I don't think that is the intention.
Dolph got what he deserved. And yes, his one-liners are groan inducing every time. I am tired of face Ziggler.
"Don't waste your precious words, hot Summer" and "snake, blonde-headed witch of a Lana that calls herself woman." I want more Rusev and less Ziggler on the mic.
I just wanted to say that if they plan to replace their interminable series of Orton/Sheamus matches with Cena/Cesaro, then I am totally, totally okay with that.
Speaking of good matches with Cena that might not lead anywhere, I miss Sandow. And speaking of Sandow, this IC three-way is a slow death.
Ziggler should be going Shawn Micahels here, gloating and swaggering about taking Lana from Rusev. His character has a pattern with women, including Vickie and AJ, that's opportunistic, and that should be the emphasis of the angle. To quote Mark Henry, that's what he does.
I will be very glad when unfunny Photoshops are future endeavored.

I think John Cena Indy Worker Fantasy Campis Cena using his sway with Vince. The Man Who Granted A Million Wishes finally called in a wish of his own in 2015, and that wish was to get to live his dream of being an indy darling superworker by working with all of the guys we all love, putting on matches we all love. John got to go to Camp US Title for the summer and live out his fantasy, which is apparently to be Daniel Bryan or CM Punk, and wrestle El Generico, Pac, Kevin Steen and Claudio Castagnoli (and, I'm guessing, had injury not stepped in, we'd have seen him vs. KENTA by now).
I'm sticking with the Fantasy Camp metaphor, but if that doesn't work for you, imagine that Cena found a Zoltar Fortune Teller Machine, put in a quarter and said "I wish...I wish I was slightly less big!"
I'm not knocking Cena, by the way. I called John Cena Indy Worker Fantasy Camp as the June Surprise this year, and it certainly seems to be true, as it's literally the only thing worth watching Raw for now (minus the potential of seeing Brock Lesnar hit a gas tank with a fire axe and blow up a car, himself, and 50 audience members). It's just kind of funny that the biggest guy in the industry, and someone who has to be in the conversation for biggest guys in the history of the industry, has been building up such a deep-seated yearning to be one of those guys. This is what happens when you take a guy was wildly talented as Cena and only let him use, like, 10% of that talent for eight years. He knows what he could have been, what Heel John Cena could be, and sat there and watched Punk and Bryan get over how he was supposed to be over in different ways. It took us four years of ruination, but this is about as close as we'll ever get to a payoff for the Pipebomb Promo, right?
Anyway, if they don't book Cesaro vs. Brock at least once, I hate this company and anyone who works there or ever will work there forever.
Cena gets dumped on a lot, but I could watch him have amazing matches weekly.
Cesaro is a rock star. Unreal.
Brock also is a rock star. Destroying the car is cliche but was fantastic. He looked like he was having the time of his life.
Re: Paige. You can't, as a company, endlessly direct us to her Twitter and Instagram and Total Divas where she is BFFs with Alicia and Rosa, while also expecting us to believe Alicia is on her enemies' side and Rosa, while useless, wouldn't try to help. I know one is a story and one is real life, but if you're going to intertwine it all, make it make sense. Can the Bella just beat AJ's streak so we can move on?
Seeing a 30 minute match of that standard was more than very pleasing to see. It made me watch and believe that Cesaro has a chance of winning, despite logic telling me that he didn't. A big thank you to Mr Cena and Mr Cesaro for that match. Hopefully they will fight again. A 3 way with Owens could be very enjoyable. Summerslam? Or am I just dreaming?!
Lesnar with a smile on his face was a strange thing to see but you could tell he was loving swinging an axe around! He was certainly putting the effort in and enjoying it.
Ziggler and Rusev needs to stop. Is Dolph being written out for a good period? I heard talk of his contract being up in the air and don't know what happened with that. Lana being with him doesn't work and isn't going to. Heel Ziggler could be good to see again if he stays around.
At least Show, Miz and Ryback were all together so weren't on too much and ruining other matches. Also good that Steph wasn't on screen and Hunter was only on for a worthwhile segment.

I know this is a bold statement, but that just might be the best thing you've ever written.

Does John love working in Chicago, or what? He was trolling the shit out of that audience. "Never fear, the Champ Is Here!"

Thanks man. In that case I'm not sure what is going to happen here as it certainly doesn't seem to be working at the moment with any of the 4 involved in it. I expect Summer Rae is best pleased with it as it means she is back on TV regardless of the story!

There was an interview where Ziggler implied he re-signed, then he did another interview the following day where he said he had not. I think they want the story out that he's not be signed yet, who knows what's actually going on.

Yeah, I guess he said he was going to. I just reread. It was in a newspaper not a sheet

He's never been Russian, he's Bulgarian but was wrestling on behalf of the Russian Federation because Lana is Russian. Which makes thing weird now that they're trying to say that he made Lana do all the Russian stuff now that he's gone back to his roots and she's still Russian...ish...
