I didn't see the whole show, but I tuned in when it counted. God. Damn. I miss Cesaro. Hey, he wasn't pinned! KO was awesome on commentary. Give me Cesaro vs. KO immediately.
This Ziggler/Lana business is just crap. Do I need to qualify this statement?
Superman Punch to an airborne Seth Rollins was sick.
Cena vs Cesaro was a great match. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was more than shocked Cesaro wasn't pinned! He certainly looked like he belonged there with Cena and will happily watch them again. Would be good to have a 'proper match with Owens rather than a Smackdown match.
Ziggler and Lana stuff needs to stop. Ziggler didn't look happy that she was getting the 'what' treatment but it is so crap then who could blame them?
Seth does very well with the poor scripts he is given. Wouldn't have been too bad if it was quite a bit shorter to start with. I was assuming some sort of Reigns and Ambrose doing an Austin impression and wrecking the new car somehow so was disappointed it didn't happen at the end. Maybe Brock will do it next week.
Originally posted by ChumpstainWe did have Cesaro vs. KO already, on Smackdown two weeks ago. So you can have it immediately, if you can find the match on Youtube!
Whild you're watching this match (and it is fun), try to count the number of moves the announcers actually call during this match - I think you'll find you have many fingers and toes left over and Lawler identifies more manuoevres than Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton COMBINED! Seriously, there are thirty second stretches where NOTHING is called. So...it could be worse than Cole, JBL and Owens on commentary. Oh, wait, Saxton was there last night, too. He's uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuselessssssssssss.
From NXT last week, Owens was getting on the announcers for exactly that. At one point, he demanded that Rich Brennan call the match, right as Finn Balor did his leap over the top to the floor onto Rhyno, leading Brennan to yell "Finn Balor!" Owens was in disbelief, just muttering to himself "You yelled his name. That's calling the match."
But this is clearly what the people on top want, for whatever reason. We know Michael Cole knows moves and can call them, we know what JR was capable of and that he's no longer desired. They.. have their reasons? I'd just like to know what they are!
What's up with JBL and Michael Cole acting like they have never seen Cena do Amazing Red's Code Red move when he did it at MITB and they were there?? And Rey Mysterio has done it in the past, too.

I feel like today's TV product isn't aimed at actual wrestling fans anymore. Instead, they want to cater to channel flippers, casual/occasional viewers, and people who decide to check it out on a whim or because they were drawn to the show by a superstar's appearance on some outside show like Total Divas or The Today Show or something*, and THOSE PEOPLE don't care about each move being called in the ring**.
And according to those in power at WWE, THOSE PEOPLE need recaps/replays of things that happened just before the commercial break, break-downs of other storylines that don't have anything to do with the match currently in the ring, and don't care at all about things like storyline continuity or consistency in character behaviors.
* I'm not sure these people exist, but I'm certain WWE thinks they're out there.
** This is not my opinion at all, this is me merely speculating as to the opinions of those in power at WWE.

I'm sure he cries himself to sleep about it when he gets off his private jet and goes to his giant mansion.

He is exactly reinventing himself (as promoter/instagram father figure) and putting on indy dream matches every night (as promoter). If at any time that's not good enough for him, he can easily pitch himself wrestling Kevin Owens or Finn Balor or whomever and it'll happen. Given his annual WM appearance, he probably WILL wrestle one of those guys eventually. He's fine.

NOOO
@tapemachines I like to think he tapes them & keeps them in a safe to rewatch late at night after Cena gets to do it in front of the world.
No, you guys are right. but it's like the beginning of Talladega Nights and the conversation about how they like to picture their Jesus. I like to picture my Triple H as the openly supportive but secretly jealous sort.
