Are the rumours true? I was more than surprised to hear it but looks like it could be happening.

Where do you think he will go? NXT or main roster? Joe vs Owens? Joe vs Rollins? Joe vs Balor? Joe vs Cesaro? So many options!

    Are the rumours true?

We should mention those rumors! Meltzer (and others) say Joe's not taking any bookings after April, and ROH is rushing him to a title match instead of holding him off for a PPV.

If Joe was working NJPW or pretty much anywhere else, he'd still be able to take bookings on his free dates. If he's going to WWE, he can't - and he can't, so he's probably going to WWE.

Everyone who goes to WWE has to go to NXT - it's seems much more about promoting the value of NXT than about the guys, so Joe's probably stuck there for a while - but those NXT specials are going to continue to be really good for a while. Who knows where he goes from there.

There's no way Survivor Series will be able to top Joe/Owens from last week's Takeover - IWC, November 2015

IWC before there was an IWC.

I can't remember who to credit but I heard an incredible joke that WWE should take both Joe and Kharma and make them Middle-Aged Jimmy Uso and Naomi sent back in time from the future.

I really hope Joe goes in. Even if it's a very extended NXT run, he still deserves a reprieve after wasting so much of his life in TNA. If you're going to dick around in the minor leagues in Florida, it may as well be for the one people like that actually books pro wrestling feuds. Joe to NXT makes sense even just as Paul Levesque Reputation-Polishing Prestige Programming that he can tour the country with.

Maybe I'm reading too much into Davecode but he also seemed to allude to a second chance for the Briscoes in NXT too.

If only to close the book on that generation of talent, I'd like to see AJ Styles do it just to try it once he's satisfied with his very well-compensated and well-utilized run in New Japan. And now if they did ever want him, instead of $60,000 per year he'd be able to get the Balor/Itami "you're legitimately important overseas so we have to make it worth your while to come here" deal. If he waits 15 more years, we can have The Vigilante AJ Styles.

Too bad the Colt Cabana: Mayor of NXT second chance is never happening. I think it would've given him some peace of mind. Low Ki would've been crazy under any set-up. Chris Hero might have gotten fat anywhere. Evan Bourne: Handsomer Neville, presumably that ship has sailed.

But the prodigal son returns, Derrick Bateman, ReBate Man ... some day. God willing. Please.

Alternate Timeline: Replace Kane with Samoa Joe starting the night after Hell In A Cell 2013.

Joe debuts as the "Director of Operations" for The Authority. He eliminates Punk at the Royal Rumble and ends his career. Joe is sent after Daniel Bryan when Evolution fails to stop Bryan at Wrestlemania XXX and gets credit for putting him out when Bryan is forced to go on the shelf. Big Show and Joe (Big/Joe!) are sent into the Rumble this year to eliminate everyone from Team Cena and do so effectively, only failing at the end when they squabble and Reigns is able to take them out with help from a returning Daniel Bryan. Joe gets some of those Big Show matches against Reigns to get him tuned-up for the Lesnar match, while Bryan/Joe is booked as a revenge match for Joe costing Bryan the belt and most of the year. Rock's return is saved for Wrestlemania when he comes in to back Lesnar down and/or stop Rollins from cashing in on a beaten but victorious Man We Call The Juggernaut Roman Reigns

Good for him if true the last 5-7 years in TNA were a waste mostly thanks to Russo. The WWE should have signed Styles last year, but according to Bryan Alvarez they made Styles an insulting offer (70K after he made 400K in TNA) and Styles has made much more money between Japan and ROH.

The return of Kendrick and Rhyno suggests an older Joe can find a place on NXT.

I wonder if he'll have to change his Musclebuster finisher because of Ryback's Shellshock. Submissions don't seem to be in favor in the WWE as finishers nowadays so the Coquina Clutch might be shelved too.

As I type that, I think of the Black Widow and the Accolade and the Yes Lock as active WWE tap finishers. Is that it?

There's the PTO (Paige Tap-Out), the Figure 4 (Miz/dow), and I believe Natalya and Kidd both use the Sharpshooter. Counting Sting as at least semi-active, add in the Scorpion Death Lock ... other than that, there aren't any I can think of.

If they're going to build NXT around indy stars and if they're actually going to graduate the top guys to the main roster, than WWE needs to get the Briscoes and guys like them. The idea of making NXT a touring brand in a year is not going to work if the top stars are the Vaudevillians*.

It does seem that they are being serious in making NXT a touring company with the best indy talent around to keep 'The Indy Marks', as they are affectionately known, happy then they are doing the right thing. There is a lot of talent at the moment in NXT so add Joe and if the Briscoe rumour is possible then there is a very strong roster.

Would you go for a NXT card or Raw taping if you had to choose between the two? Have to think that the NXT card would have much better wrestling despite not having all the name value of a Raw taping so I would go NXT. Apart from the Raw after Wrestlemania of course!

I'm starting to wonder if the next big NXT payoff is going to be an invasion-style, HHH vs Vince storyline. They've been pretty open about HHH being the brains behind NXT that it makes me think they're setting something up.

This is a reference to Bill DeMott, and probably a response specifically to a (now deleted) tweet from Chris Jericho.

Here's a PWInsider article on the DeMott situation:

And a second, with tweets from Jericho and EC3:

The story in a nutshell is that, as a trainer, Bill DeMott allegedly acts like (surprise!) a giant asshole, including slapping a possibly concussed student on the head.

Jericho's ex-tweet read "Hey @BillDeMott is a good friend & great trainer. If u can’t handle it then quit. My training at #HartBrothers camp was 10,000 times worse!"

Joey Ryan weighs in:

It's amazing Jericho's brain can withstand the cognitive dissonance between considering himself an "actor" performing a "character" and all that kind of sportz-entertainmenty feces, and also thinking someone on the payroll of publicly traded company should be able to tell another employee to go back to Africa. The business can't be new school sportz entertainment and old school wrasslin' at the same time. Pick a side already.

EDIT: Demott's being a huge piece of shit probably deserves its own thread.

Thanks for the good info guys! Amazing that such a culture can still permeate in this day and age in a publicly listed company. Sadly not surprising though. Typical old school bully justification. Certainly grade A level douchebaggery.

Although if my on screen character ended up being recast on national television as Hugh G. Rection, I reckon I'd end up a little testy too.
