In that article at WWE.com about the upcoming article in WWE Magazine (or is it RAW Magazine?), they have some quotes that didn't get in. A lot talk about how unprofessional his decision was, but then Kevin Nash says this:
“I think the biggest thing with Steve is this: He's been carrying that wagon for six years now. When ratings go down, they just go to the whip and they just run him and run him and run him. I think he's burned out. A lot of people have said some pretty harsh things about how he walked out, but I just think he's burned out. I think he has the right to go home, and if it takes him six months to clear his head, then we'll all be better for it.”
I'm surprised by the tone of this, it wasn't a flame job I expected.
Funny thing is that Bradshaw said he considers Austin a real "good friend." Didn't Austin pretty much called Bradshaw a jackass for his actions on the flight from hell.
Coach really flamed him, Bradshaw called Austin unprofessional (wow pot here's kettle).
Hogan is disappointed he didn't get a chance to wrestle him... Jericho says "It’s sad. I looked up to Steve first as a mentor, and then as a confidant. We had "similar views" (cryptic message) on almost everything. It’s so much fun working with him.”
(edited by Net Hack Slasher on 17.7.02 0104) I don't get it, everyone loves rats, but they don't want to drink the rats milk?
I think I have to re-evaluate my opinion of Kevin Nash. that was actually insightful.
It's sad that Kevin Freaking Nash has a bit more sensitivity and understanding about the walkout (I wonder soemtiems if the IWC isn't angrier that he walked out or hit Debra) than half of his fans.
Yeah it was unprofessional, but the man didn't just wake up one day after WM and say "Fuck it, I'm going off the script," and ruin his life on a whim. The signs were apparently there and there's more fault to go round than the ton or so we lay at Austin's feet.
It WAS pretty cool of him to say that, especially since the WWE party line is "Austin is scum!" I just may have to throw a little (just a little...) respect Nash's way. Not as a worker, but as a man.
Unprofessional or not, every American (except for military personnel) has the prerogative of saying, "Fuck This" and walking out on a shitty boss. As for ruining his life, this whole breakdown just may have the long term effect of making him take a long look at himself in the mirror and make some changes for the better. Sure, it may not result in 10 million asshole fans shouting "What" at every opportunity, but he may just heal himself and all damaged relationships (Debra, ex-wife and other friends and relatives) with this time off.
"All born equal unless you're Canadian Then halfway through decay like Uranium You define what's death-defying Get the most out of life or at the least die trying Are you Evil Knievel jumping a train? Or running with scissors like Frasier Crane? Have really good times doing really bad things ‘Cause the show ain't over ‘til the fat lady sings Like Elton John with his candle in the wind It's hard to blow out a flame as big as him But we've all got to Wang Chung with the Grim Reaper Whether you're Einstein whether you're Beaker Death is certain so it's definitely worth flirtin' Don't expect a bright light no just curtains Life is like a penis most people don't know it But most people suck so they usually blow it"

What's this? Talk on Austin that doesn't involved thick-skulled, pig-headed "Fuck Austin he sux0rz"? Kudos to everyone in this thread, and kudos to Kevin f'n Nash.
This thread started by STONErBOY is proof of why you don't feed toddlers rat poison. Hey! I get to try out this nifty 'Ignore user' function finally! Yippee!
