The first Friday night showing of Impact was preceeded by a replay of last week's Wednesday show, which I caught the latter half of. Damn, Awesome Kong is HUGE. It's not very often women's wrestling gets a 'Hoss match', but they sure seem to be setting one up between Havok and Kong.

I enjoyed the Hardys beating the Wolves and taking the #1 contendership, and Low Ki/Aries was looking up to be a worthy rematch of last week up until LOLInterference. Angle/Joe wasn't half bad either, and the piledriver that finished Roode/EY was SICK. Was nice to see Lashley stand up to MVP, but he got annihilated by the 5-on-1. I really hope MVP doesn't continue to expand and become another Aces n 8s angle. So we've got two large stables in the BDC and the Revolution, both heels ... wonder if they'll end up butting heads at some point.

The camera flubs that were reported last week seem to have been ironed out ... one would hope so, they did have 9 full days to edit the footage down.

Presumably TNA's ultimate goal is to have everyone on the roster as part of a heel stable.

"They showed Kazarian talking on his cell phone. Tenay said that was a sign of disrespect. West suggested that perhaps Kazarian was phoning in the moves to someone who is going to help him prepare to face one of these wrestlers. That's one of the worst guesses in history for why someone is on the phone."

I finally upgraded to cables, so my wife could watch the Flyers and I can watch the team they play. I thought the camera work was awful. The Hardyz/Wolves match was good. The Wolves seemed to be going at the Hardyz now older slower pace.

Havok is huge. I mean like Big show huge. Kong/Havok would sell a PPV by itself if they knew how to promote it. Honestly, I would wait a month have one of them get the title and go from there. Don't know why Taryln or whatever the hell her name is, has it. Weird seeing EY get a giant win like that. I have no idea why JB vs. EC III is happening.

TNA really needs to find a place they can go where they can turn the lights on.

There are 3 big reasons Taryn has the title right now:

1) She's an amazingly talented wrestler, having put on some ***** matches against Gail Kim, including a crazy ladder match.
2) She's hot as hell.
3) She hadn't held the belt before and after seeing what she can do in the ring, management decided she deserved to hold it for awhile.

Havok is still way too green to be holding the belt, having only been in TNA for maybe six months, most of that being time off of TV. Awesome Kong LITERALLY has been back for a week. The belt doesn't need to be involved in this feud to get the crowd interested; Knockouts matches aren't bathroom breaks like the Divas are, and Kong got one of the biggest pops of the night. And if they did want to include the belt, Taryn's more than willing to get in there and bump for the monsters in a 3-way dance.

Gotta go back to that last TNA thread for a second.

I think TNA stopped reading here after six words.

I thought the first hour this week was bad and hard to watch.

The second hour was fun.

The new tattooed announcer guy needs to lose his punk look. It doesn't work for a play-by-play guy.

I don't hate the idea of the announcers being based out of a separate studio set, but their current one looks too much like a living room.

KONG V. HAVOK, YES PLEASE!

I was pleased to see EY beat Roode. During EY's reign last year he showed he was (at the time) better than Roode, so it makes sense that he would still have Roode's number. Speaking of numbers, EY turning on Roode because Roode texted him rather than called/visited makes sense. 2014 wrapped up with Lashley demolishing Roode's friends (EY and Aries), so Roode not visiting EY in the hospital would reasonably be the kind of thing that would set Eric Young off.

I was similarly happy to see EY take part in the beatdown of Lashley. A small measure of comeuptance finally, against the man who ended his time on the top.

MVP's faction finally has a name! Splendid. The BeatDown Clan it is. MVP/Lashley has been quietly built up since June. It will be fun watching it unfold at last. Finally MVP is out of Lashley's shadow.

Also, I enjoyed MVP's quip about Lashley's alternative to remaining in the BeatDown Clan: joining the New Day.

Definitely a mixed bag.

The BDC is a decent stable and MVP's good on the mic. I agree with generaly being tired of the big heel stable, although I suppose this is just a variation on the Lashlay/MVP/King stable that was running last year - not so much new as evolved. I wish they'd gone with Beat Down Crew - hearing MVP say "The clan" this and 'the clan' that seemed kind of dissonant. I get the references they're going for, it just sounds strange if you just use the last word.

Lashley's still really horrible on the mic and, frankly, they DID hand him that title last week, so he was being kind of ungrateful punk. He could've won the title on his own, but he didn't, so don't act like you did, huh, man? So I didn't feel much sympathy for him during the beatdown.

They made a point that EY wasn't in the BDC, but he was with them during every segment. I just don't like EY so the whole "This time he's serious!" bit got old. Hell of a piledriver to finish off Roode, though, I'll give him that.

Kong/Havok is definitely the biggest draw match they have. I agree that Taryn is more talented than I ever expected (although five stars for her matches with Gail is probably a biiiiiiiit of a stretch), so I'm fine with keeping the belt out of the Havok/Kong feud.

Storm's stable - I love Storm and I like the whistling thing. I'm pretty tired of Abyss, but everyone else seems good.

I may have been exaggerating a bit, but I think the Gail/Taryn matches deserved at least *** at the worst, and the ladder match a ****.

It doesn't really surprise me that Havok/Kong has turned into their biggest draw match, because TNA gives a lot more respect to their women's division than WWE ever has. Sure, most of them still dress in skimpy outfits (Taryn in particular is always showing plenty of cleavage, not to mention the Beautiful People), but I'd watch a Knockouts match anyday. A Divas match, unless it's featuring Emma or Paige, is generally a bathroom break or time for me to play puzzle games on my tablet.

Lashley does sound pretty terrible on the mic ... the best part about him being part of MVP's stable was that his biggest weakness could be taken care of, and now that he's on his own, he's lost his mouthpiece. I love what he can do in the ring, as long as there isn't a microphone in his hand.

Point taken about 'the clan', especially considering what that term's usually associated with ...
