USA Network President Chris McCumber has announced that groundbreaking WWE reality series "Tough Enough" will be returning to television on USA Network.
"I am pleased to announce that USA is bringing back 'Tough Enough,' the action-packed competition reality show from the ratings juggernaut, WWE," McCumber said in a speech today during the Television Critics Association winter press tour. "The show will have a completely new format, with live elements that will truly make this event television."
McCumber continued, "After signing another multi-year deal for Raw and SmackDown, this is the perfect time to bring back the series and capitalize on the enormous audience appeal of sports-entertainment."

The last one gave us ... Cameron? And the overall winner vanished. I thought they gave passes to the wrong folks and sent the better people home.

With NXT, how is this going to work? Is it going to go from TE -> NXT -> WWE? Wouldn't the NXT guys and gals get a bit frustrated if they're doing their thing down at NXT and someone can win a competition to go directly to the WWE?

It was helpful for Lucha Underground! And I guess Puerto Rico for a while, slightly. Also I had to go to wikipedia to remember runner up Luke's name.
Cameron was really dumb, but that's one of the few moments I can still remember from the show. Casting is important in these...

So it's the NXT guys who aren't on NXT yet (or maybe appearing only in jobber roles depending on how literal it's meant to be.)

To be fair, Matt Cappotelli might have been the biggest star in the history of the business if it weren't for the whole brain cancer thing.
The Miz and Ryback both came through Tough Enough, so it hasn't been a total wash for the WWE. Lucha Underground currently has 4 ex-Tough Enough wrestlers. TNA has Kenny King and Josh Matthews.
I think it's fair to say that the biggest success story coming out of Tough Enough was definitely Christopher Nowinski, however, in terms of impact on the industry.
I suppose it's nice of USA to foot the bill for a few more hours of WWE Network programming.

I'd like to see Solomon Crowe the character, and there's no way he'd be allowed to use that on Tough Enough, unless they turn it into something completely different from the previous shows..

Well considering what NXT is now vs. what it was, and even how Tough Enough changed when Austin hosted, that isn't outside the realm of possibility.

That doesn't count. That's like saying someone's debut as a WWE Superstar was being a Rosebud. Hardly something to boast or consider legit.
They were onto something with Crowe's hacker gimmick, I think it would be something quite fun (at least) for the NXT crowd.

I'm calling Uhaa Nation winning it if he's in it.
Who is the poor guy getting killed in about thirty of those? I might be more interested in him.

Funny enough, both Solomon Crowe's and Kalisto's first TV appearances were at an Adam Rose party (when he was still on NXT).
