So we had the prediction thread, but no results? Here's a quick recap of NXT Takeover: Fatal Four Way - 09.11.2014, live from Winter Park, FL.

Kalisto and Sin Cara beat The Ascension with the Salida del Sol in about 8 minutes to win the NXT Tag Team Titles.

Baron Corbin (who is apparently a former Cardinals lineman) squashed CJ Parker.

Enzo Amore beat Sylvester Lefort with a rollup in about 5 minutes. Lefort ran away from the haircut, and timely intervention from Louis saved him on this day. Cass and Enzo beat up on Marcus a bit for good measure.

KENTA is introduced via William Regal and video package, and proceeds to a cut a bilingual promo. He announced that he'll be known henceforth as Hideo Itami. The Ascension interrupted because they're pissed, but he fought them off. KENTA grabbed a chair to take a seat and asked the Ascension to try him again, but they thought better of it and backed off.

Bull Dempsey squashed Mojo Rawley in a minute.

Charlotte retained her NXT Women's Title over Bailey in about 11 minutes. Charlotte won clean with the Natural Selection. They had some nice back-and-forth interactions in what was a very watchable match. Sasha Banks attacked Bailey afterwards, but Charlotte had a bit of a change of heart and pulled Banks off Bailey.

Adrian Neville retained the NXT Title by pinning Tyson Kidd with the Red Arrow in about 24 minutes. This wasn't the wall-to-wall fantastic match I went in expecting, but once they sorted out the awkwardness and pacing issues about ten minutes in, it got fast and furious real quick. The second half of the match was fantastic, though I don't know where you go with Neville from here, and when (if ever) Zayn will finally manage to win the big match.

I guess Ascension will be getting the call up soon. I'm not a huge fan of theirs, and the tag team division can be dicey so I wish them luck. They just don't do a lot for me as they are kind of just there. They remind me a little of the Pitbulls or a better version of Kronik.

Charlotte has come a long long ways. She does some great heel stuff in there, I don't know how it will transfer over to The Total Divas division when she makes the move, but yeah there is a lot more to her than just being Ric Flair's daughter.

I agree that the four way was not looking great to start. A lot of two men fighting while two guys lay dead outside from being tossed out. It picked up a lot during the second half. Loved Breeze trying to steal pins. I like Zayn coming up just short again. Kidd was his usual solid self, but you have to wonder where he goes next. I like Neville enough. He does the RVD in his prime thing. I didn't like him disappearing for half the match due to a shoulder block and he's probably the guy I wanted to win the least, but maybe picking up a shady pin will help his character develop from guy who flips.

Baron Corbin has a good look.

Hopefully, Hideo Itami finds a groove. That was a little awkward, but WWE has always had trouble with Japanese guys.

I enjoy these shows, this one wasn't the best but I enjoy wrestling and they gave us a lot of that.

Ahh A few seconds late. Posting it anyway.

First off the show starts with the "WWE Then. Now. Forever." bumper that starts to have static breakups where the veterans and current roster get digitally overwritten with the NXT Roster. Really nice production touch to hype off this event as totally unique from RAW or SMACKDOWN.

Lucha Dragons v. The Ascension

For those uninitiated to the team of Kalisto and Sin Cara here is a quick synopsis: Remember when they paired Rey Mysterio with Sin Cara Uno? Well Lucha Dragons is more like pairing Mysterio in his WCW prime and no injuries with a non botching injury-less Sin Cara. In fact Hunico officially becoming Sin Cara is the greatest thing to happen to the character ever.

The match is a great showcase of differing styles, dirty blunt force power wrestling against lightning quick unpredictable luchador style and Lucha prevails in the WWE again! Kalisto does so many insane spin kicks and springboard corkscrew "what the hell wazzat!" spots it's almost hard to keep up with. Kalisto finishes with a back flip neckbreaker on Viktor to win the NXT Tag Titles to end The Ascension's near year long run as champs. This wouldn't be the last we see of the big guys however....

Baron Corbin v. CJ Parker

This was a squash which I usually despise but it was a necessity. Baron Corbin has been on NXT before but this is his redebut as a pure badass. He kills Parker with a super stiff roundhouse punch to the jaw and this swinging reverse STO where he catches you running at him, bends you backwards while suspending you in the air as far as he can bend forward, then rocketing backwards at break neck speed. CJ Parker looks like he was in a catapult aimed straight at the ground.

Rene Young: Just a pile of Dredlocks, not feeling so hot!

I'd really like to see more of this guy. Plus he has some of the cleanest inkwork I've ever seen on anybody in my life.

Enzo Amore v. Sylvester Lefort

I love Enzo and Big Cass. Find anything you can of these two because I honestly think that their improvisational mic skills puts them miles above most of the main roster, no exaggeration. I believe you can look on the NXT Facebook page and find the video in which Enzo and Cass go to a barbershop to get a super strong hair remover for this Hair v. Hair match. These dudes established more about their characters and the match recording that segment with their phones than Creative and RAW production can establish with with their non-Heavyweight Champions. In a weird way they remind me of a new version of The Outsiders.

The match is good enough, but the real story is after Enzo gets the rollup win. Sylvester manages to not get his hair removed in the mystery bucket due to Marcus Louis saving him. Instead Cass and Enzo cover Louis in the liquid instead as he goes screaming into the night. Cass channels Bubba Dudley (Enzo *chest push* GET THE BUCKET!)Later on in the show Cass and Enzo go hunting for The French men and catch up with with Marcus (with Towel of Disdain on head), drag him to the ring and reveals his now patchy haired bald dome.

KENTA debuts!!!11!11!

I won't go fully into this but I'm a huge fan of former NOAH Wrestler now WWE Superstar KENTA. I stopped watching WWE around 2004 or whenever Cena was officially Da Man on RAW. When I got back into wrestling in 2005 it was due to watching alot of CM Punk in ROH and KENTA in NOAH pro wrestling. I couldn't watch WWE into CM Punk made his debut on ECW. Now Punk is gone and KENTA debuts. I can't believe this day exists.

Regal the Commish' of NXT comes out to introduce (with video package) WWE's high profile of Japanese multi-champion KENTA. He comes out and delivers his message in Japanese (for the Sky Sports crowd watching this segment live in Japan this was showing around 9 am!) and in English. Great job by the Full Sail Crowd with the crowd control on their own trolls during his speech. I love this crowd. Then he drops the bomb that he's changing his name from KENTA (all caps) to Hideo Itami....this is gonna take a long time to get use to. Just think of Metal Gear and Itami.

The Ascension come out (told you they'd be back) and beat KEN... Hideo Itami and toss him out of the ring because big guys rule and demand a tag title rematch. They are not very good ambassadors for our country. Hideo rips his sweet ass tailored jacket off loosens his tie and beats the piss out of Konnor and Viktor. He even tags one of them with a Rolling Elbow which was a nice shout out to a fallen mentor. Grabbing a chair he sits in the middle of the ring like a big bad Yakuza boss begging them to step up (medium size guys rule) and I'm marking out!

Bull Dempsey v. Mojo Rawley

After a very well done debut of probably one of my favorite all time Japanese wrestlers I'm emotionally drained. This match was thankfully quick, just like this review of it. These two are enhancement talent through and through. NEXT!

Charlotte v. Bayley

It's redundant to talk about how the NXTDivas are miles above the main roster Diva's in ring. Plus most of the NXT Divas are starting to replace the models we have been use to anyway. Charlotte has really been stepping up as champion and her match with Bayley is no exception. The story of this match is that Bayley is the optimistic naive competitor with heart of gold and Charlotte is the genetically blessed Championship-bred daughter of a legend that feels she is above her competition. The superior acting from these two makes me really dread having to watch The Bellas at NOC soon or ever again.

Ending comes with Charlotte hitting the flip cutter or "Natural Selection" for the win. Afterwards Sasha Banks (who apparently isn't ratchet, whatever that means) comes out to put the beatdown to the fallen Bayley. Champ Charlotte breaks up the fight and saves her rival. Is this a face turn? I hope not as it would be pointless right now.

Adrian Neville v. Sami Zayn v. Tyson Kidd v. Tyler breeze

This match was too much!

The psychology is genius. Breeze is the Tweener, Zayn is the more over face, Kidd the established heel, and Neville is starting to get mixed tepid reaction despite being champion. So they cater the match to that. Most of the match is Tyson Kidd focusing on Sami Zayn in the ring while cutting off Neville and Breeze every time they try to get in the ring. Breeze stays out the longest cause he's a wussy pretty boy but comes in when the other three competitors are distracted and strikes everyone like lightning. All four men commit to a TOWER OF DOOM TOP ROPE SUPERPLEX. Sami does the Stone Cold Stomping a mudhole and walking it dry spot. Neville does a Shooting Star Press in which he hit's Kidd in the head while falling on top of Zayn! Breeze through epic hissy fits whenever he had a near fall.

The ending comes when Zayn kills everyone! Exploder Suplex dropping Kidd on head in the corner, suicide diving elbow knocking Neville into the crowd, a running jump between the third and second rope into a spinning DDT on the floor to Breeze ending with a running Big Boot in the corner to Tyson Kidd. Just when he has it Neville pulls the ref out of the ring to break off the pin. Superkick to the stunned Zayn followed by a the world's prettiest top rope move The Red Arrow for the three count.

You must watch NXT Takeover if you have never watched the show before. Especially if the main show product has been wearing you down with it's inconsistency and "focus" you owe it to yourself to check this out. Check out the pre-show and post-show for some interesting interviews with the talents of the show.

This was my first time seeing NXT or a special event, be it on PPV or the Network, and I was pretty impressed.

Admittedly I'm not a big fan of the actual wrestling when I watch Raw - mostly because it doesn't hold my attention with the exception of of a few (like Edge or Punk) - so I had low expectations that I would keep my attention on it while on the computer but boy was I wrong. Most of the matches, even though I had no frame of reference to the participants, kept me more interested in the match rather than my work on the computer.

If Raw was a bit more like this, I would definitely tube in more but I also think it being two rather than three hours helped too. Admittedly as much as I like it, I'm not sure if my attention would have been there for another hour.

The Charlotte/Bayley match was definitely my favourite followed by the last one. I really liked Sami from what I saw of him.

Also, good god, was it just last night or was the announce team so much better than Raw? I looked it because they made it easier to follow along with what was happening by explaining the moves and back story of everyone which, for me, made things easier to get into having not seen the show before.

I'll definitely be watching more of this, as long as it stays the same type of show (content wise). I realise that WWE needs to keep Raw as it is for the couch surfers and those that might not be into the wrestling but the difference is night and day into my level of interest in the actual fighting aspect.

The NXT commentary is solid most days (better when Regal was around) and they do a great job of generally staying out of the way, which Raw sorely lacks. But we must keep in mind that anyone who gets called up to one of the main shows also has to deal with McMahon in his ear, and that's the real problem. If the NXT team suddenly made it to Raw next Monday, they'd sound no different than the trash you hear each week, because the problem isn't necessarily Maggle and Co, but the driving force behind them, and that guy is going to outlive us all.

I honestly believe that Cole and JBL are capable of being decent commentators (they were for their brief spell together on SmackDown), but we'll never get that tolerable version of them as long as McMahon is alive. [I know this goes against my rant on the Raw thread, but that was frustration and anger, and this is after having had a few days to reflect.] Also, Lawler is awful.

I've just been getting into NXT lately. Glad I caught this last night.

I watched a fair bit of NOAH back in '06 & '07. Sad about the KENTA name change. Guess Vince can copyright Hideo Itami, though.

Charlotte/Bayley was legit.

This was my first exposure to Enzo Amore. I got tired of him in seconds.

I thought the main event was the best match on these specials since the very first match. IMO best fourway in company history would still have to go to Shawn vs. Cena vs. Rated vs. RKO at Backlash '07, but this was a Spectacular Encounter, and the first title/Neville main event that wasn't merely good but outstanding. I'm no NXTpert but the booking seemed to perfectly set up Zayn getting a singles match against heel Neville at the next special and finally getting the big win. How the introduction of Kelvin Steenbergen at some point between now and then would play into that, I couldn't say.

Hideo Itami will obviously take some getting used to but at least it was a dignified attempt at what in their mentality is a necessary evil. HHH on the latest conference call said the policy going forward would be to acknowledge people's names and then change them, so I guess there's a few more of these "y'all know who I am, I'm so proud to be here, and starting now, to honor my father I will take on a somewhat arbitrary new moniker." I can't get Frank Costanza shouting HIDEKI IRABU at Steinbrenner out of my head. I hope Otani Itami works in the suit, like how Ambrose's gear became his clothes.

Charlotte/Bayley, blah blah the usual spiel about context and presentation compared to main TV, and women with legit goals and agency getting over. It is what it is and the sentiment sometimes borders on Upworthy gooeyness, but it's still, well, true. Paige and AJ have had a good program but even that unfailingly had to become a tiptoed PG lesbian feud. The difference isn't a talent discrepancy either -- plunk the sister feud into NXT and they'd get it far more over as a traditional wrestling break-up. Something as simple and effective as Charlotte stopping the beatdown on Bayley would never get a chance to breathe on Raw. Even if Ariane isn't a worker, NXT would've gotten solid drama out of strong heel and face personalities like the Defunkadactyls. Their blue chip prospects like Paige and Charlotte are going to be fine, but it's too bad for someone like Bayley, who would just be a redundant Emma on the mains.

Belly-to-Bayley is another in a great line of the developmental's greatest strength, women's pun finisher names. No Charlotte's Web though?

Hopefully this frees up the Ascension to join the main roster of TNA.

I'll take Austin, Hart, Vader and Taker at In Your House all day, but that had the far superior elimination rules going for it (even if it was over the top rope eliminations.)

How anybody can say the Taz(z) sound alike and Rene Young sound BETTER on TV than the actual RAW Announcers is ridiculous.

Rene Young's squealing and screeching made this nearly unlistenable. Not that Cole, JBL and Lawler are doing much better, but at least I didn't want to puncture my own eardrums.

That's also a sadly accurate evaluation of Bayley. She's one of the best overall wrestlers in NXT right now, but with her look and character, RAW's creative would have no interest in her. One of the best things about NXT (and there are a lot of best things about NXT) is that even though there are comedy wrestlers, there is no comedy wrestling. Bayley's offense of suplexes and elbow strikes is fantastic. Like a lot of people, I hope the day never comes where she gets called up to the main roster.
