SyFy's website lists Smackdown on Thursday, October 2, pretty much confirming the rumors from a few weeks ago. I've been waiting for them to go back for the entire ... whoa, nine years they've been on Fridays. Too bad it finally comes at a time when Smackdown has arguably never been less essential, with no brand split, three-hour Raws, and sometimes even less newsworthiness than some angles on Main Event.
I usually watch Smackdown in two or three spurts over the weekend -- minus commercials, replays, and replays of replays, the show only runs a little more than an hour -- so that probably won't change. Although for the first time since Smackdown and the Corporate Ministry were born, there isn't going to be a single NBC Must-See TV Comedy on Thursday I'll be watching. (Wait. That might not be true depending on how long I indulged Joey during the gap between Friends and Office.)
BAD JUDGE 9:30 An 8-year-old boy may, in fact, be the one thing that starts to tame this “bad” judge.
Where have you gone, Good Morning Miami. Anyway. Raw rematches and prematches are coming to Thursdays.
On the last Thursday Smackdown,
- Heidenreich of LOD 2005 beat producer Joey Mercury. - Beloved former star Chris Benoit tapped out Orlando Jordan in 23 seconds. - A match between new mothers Stacy Keibler and Christy Hemme was interrupted by the ambassador of Quebec, Sylvan. - Ken Kennedy pinned Booker T. The future was bright. - Batista pinned Simon Dean in preparation for a title defense against a true Smackdown legend in JBL, who I guess will be announcing Thursdays with Tom Phillips. - William Regal and Paul Burchill (no pirate, no Katie Lea) beat Funaki 2 Hotty. - Randy Orton (w/ Bob) beat Rey Mysterio (w/ custody of Dominick). Chances of Randy Orton headlining Thursday Smackdown 2014 against Roman Reigns seem decent, while Rey Mysterio is technically employed.

Yeah, that's my question too. I have to assume that this means a change in time for it if nothing else. Most likely, I figure they swap NXT over to Fridays to maintain their current schedule of a show each weekday.

That would make sense to me too, but Alvarez said the plan was to move NXT to Wednesday after Impact moved to Thursday. I think the idea is to fry people's brains when Tyson Kidd works as a good guy on Main Event and then a bad guy on NXT back to back.
Originally posted by F4WWWE has just confirmed that Smackdown will be remaining on Friday from 8-10 p.m. for the fall season.
The change back to the current time slot appears to have been a last minute decision, since the Syfy Network web site still lists Smackdown on Thursdays from 8-10 p.m. starting 10/2, and through the next several weeks

Hell yeah, that show was the shit. After the first year they hired those slacker dudes, which brought the quality down alot. BTW, did Link ever kiss Zelda? I missed the final episode!
